For several seconds, neither of them spoke.
The tension in the room was suffocating.
Maya finally broke the silence.
"You've been planning this for a long time, haven't you?"
Olivia tilted her head slightly.
"Planning what?"
"Everything."
"The manipulation."
"The threats."
"The corruption inside the company."
For the first time, Olivia's expression hardened.
"You should stop talking about things you don't understand."
"Oh, I understand enough," Maya replied calmly.
She pulled out her phone.
Olivia's eyes narrowed.
"What are you doing?"
Maya pressed play.
Olivia's voice from the café recording filled the room.
"If I really wanted to destroy you, Maya, you wouldn't even be sitting here right now."
Olivia's smile slowly disappeared.
The recording continued.
The part where Olivia admitted manipulating Daniel echoed through the empty conference room.
When the recording ended, silence followed.
Maya looked directly at Olivia.
"Still think I have nothing?"
Olivia stared at her for a long moment.
Then suddenly…
She laughed.
A slow, amused laugh.
Maya frowned.
"What's funny?"
Olivia walked toward the window.
"You really think that recording scares me?"
"It should."
Olivia turned around.
"That recording proves nothing."
"It proves you manipulated people."
"No," Olivia said calmly.
"It proves you secretly recorded a private conversation."
Maya froze.
Olivia smiled again.
"In fact… that might violate company policy."
Maya felt the situation slipping again.
Olivia walked closer.
"You see, Maya… evidence can be dangerous."
"But only when it's used correctly."
Maya clenched her fists.
"You're not untouchable."
Olivia's voice became soft.
"No one is."
She stopped just inches away from Maya.
"But right now…"
"…I'm still winning."
And Maya realized something terrifying.
Olivia wasn't panicking.
She was still confident.
Which meant she was hiding something even bigger.
Something Maya hadn't discovered yet.
