Chapter 21 - Trouble In Front Of The Door

It was a girl.

[Another species of the opposite sex with potential to become an unparalleled beauty below the Empress of Domination detected. Appraising…]

She stood there casually—black-white hair falling around her shoulders, animal ears twitching slightly, and a tail swaying behind her. Her outfit mixed loose white fabric with layered red and black clothing, giving off a wild yet refined look. A katana rested across her shoulders as if it weighed nothing.

Her expression—

A wide, carefree grin, like she didn't care about anything at all.

Trouble — that's the best word to describe her apperance.

[Name: Neona Fur]

[Race: Beastkin]

[True Core: Beast of Brutality]

[Originality: Bakeneko]

Rain hit his head with his hand, his face filled with worry—only worry. 'Why the hell is my luck with women always this bad…'

His concern grew heavier as he read her originality. "I just knew it…"

Of course. It couldn't be anything else.

"I have to avoid this bitch at all costs," he muttered under his breath—because from experience, that was always the best choice for him.

Beastkin—a race whose origin lies in beasts. Every creature of land or water that can be considered a beast can give rise to a beastkin.

They carry a mixed appearance of human and animal—some look cute, others terrifying. A beastkin could resemble a dog, cat, tiger, deer, bear, whale, dolphin, even a jellyfish—anything that falls under the nature of a beast. Insects weren't included, of course, as they belonged to a different nature altogether.

In some sense, humankind itself could be considered the perfect example of beastly nature—lacking the same pride, perhaps, but possessing cruelty no less than any wild creature.

Rain was already preparing to back off, but the moment he took his first step—

She moved in an instant.

Before he could even react, Neona appeared right in front of him and pinned him down onto the ground.

"Damn! What are you doing!?" Rain snapped, struggling to get up.

But the reply he got was… not what he expected.

"Mister, do you know how to unlock this door? It's not opening with my keys."

Rain just stared at her.

'…?'

'Yep… totally forgot this part. Outside, she's just an airhead…'

He let out a breath and got up.

Neona Fur—an A-tier Ultra Rare Charcter in OG. Many would be deceived by her cute, carefree appearance, mixed with that alluring blend of human and beast—those soft ears, that swaying tail.

But in reality…

This bitch was someone you needed to be extremely cautious of.

No one knew how many secrets she hid behind that carefree facade.

Rain dusted off his clothes. "Which door?" he said with an annoyed look.

Neona turned to him with a cute face, eyes sparkling, and pointed right at his room. "This one, mister."

Rain's expression went flat. "That's my room, not yours."

She lightly tapped her head with a small laugh. "Looks like I mistaken it, hehe!" as if it were just a coincidence.

Rain stared at her with a cautious look. 'Like I would ever believe you, bitch.' He already knew better than to trust a single word from her.

"Anyway, mister… let's be friends," she said casually.

"Fine," Rain replied, though his expression showed hesitation.

'Who are you trying to fool? You definitely have ulterior motives,' he thought, already convinced from the start.

"Okay then, take care, mister," she said as she turned and walked away, a faint, irritated grin mixed with disappointment flashing across her face before disappearing.

Rain watched her leave, muttering under his breath, "Just look at that face… do you think I'm that easy to deceive?"

With that, he stepped into his room.

---

Rain stared at a paper filled with different kinds of information—class assignments, schedules, and rules—as he walked through the corridor before finally entering a large classroom filled with students sitting here and there.

He took a random seat. 'No point thinking about where to sit… it's still the same as ever,' he thought. It was something he never really had to think about. He was used to being alone—his baby face made him an easy target before, and instead of dealing with mockery, he simply chose isolation. Not like he couldn't fight back… he just didn't want to.

Because in this world—

No one really cared about you except yourself.

Even if you died, the world would keep moving as usual. Some might shed a few tears, but as time passed, they would eventually forget you… just like a particle of dust.

Around him, students chatted among themselves, curious about who their homeroom teacher would be. The noise continued—until suddenly, it stopped.

A person had entered the class.

"Nice to meet you, I am in charge of your class—1A."

A pause.

"Sarah Sacred… but you can call me instructor or professor. We'll be together for the next four years, so let's get along."

It turned out to be Sarah. She stood at the front, one leg slightly crossed, her posture confident. Her eyes swept across the room.

"I don't tolerate students who don't follow rules… so you better behave."

A grin slowly appeared on Rain's face as he looked at her.

'Fate is really something…We meet again.'

Sarah continued, "I will not say much since it's our first meeting—"

A hand suddenly tapped Rain's shoulder.

"Hmmm?" he turned his head.

The moment his eyes landed on the person beside him, a sense of worry crept in. A stiff, hesitant smile formed as he gulped. '…I should really start thinking about where I sit from now on.'

It was Neona Fur.

She leaned slightly toward him with a bright smile. "Looks like we're in the same class… really, what luck."

Rain forced a smile back, sweat forming. "Haha… yeah, really… what luck…"

'JUST MY DAMN BAD LUCK!'

Luck—something ordinary people believed in casually.

But for gacha players like Rain, it wasn't just a factor… it was an absolute, merciless law of existence—an eternal truth engraved into their very souls, deciding victory and defeat in a single pull, determining whether you rise to the heavens or fall straight into despair; a force that toyed with fate itself, laughed at effort, crushed preparation, and on the brink of death—or worse, at the edge of a single, decisive moment—would flip everything in an instant, deciding whether you survive, thrive, or get utterly ruined beyond saving… like charging your phone to 100% and it still dying at the exact moment you need it most.

"It's good we're in the same class," Neona added.

"Yeah… yeah," Rain replied, already too tired to care.

Neona continued as she took out some chocolate bars. "I got some of these… do you want some?" Her words carried a faint hint of a scheme.

Rain almost reached out—but at the very last moment, he pulled his hand back and instead took out the healthy chocolate bars he had won from the slots from his pocket.

With a bright smile, he said, "No thanks, I've got this," as he unwrapped one and started eating it.

"…tch."

A small sound escaped from Neona.

Rain's lips curled slightly, a hidden grin forming as confidence flickered in his eyes.

'Like those puny tricks would work on me.'

But as always, reality hit hard—like entering the room alone with all that full energy… and getting shut down so fast by Busty Grandma Tsunade for not even lasting for ten minutes.

As a message popped—

[As the future Lord of Domination, you can't be a shut-in. You must have comrades.]

'What's wrong with being a shut-in!?' Rain argued instantly in disagreement, his face twitching.

[Task – Make 4 acquaintances within the given time limit]

[Time – 7 days remaining]

[Penalty – Death]

[Reward – ???]

Rain just stared at it in silence, disbelief written all over his face.

His eye twitched.

'Now what kind of bullshit is this!'

[Don't worry, hubby. You can do anything, and making four friends is not a big deal… even little kids can do it] With a smile brimming with confidence

"Hahahah… you mean even little kids are better than me?" Rain said, a hollow laugh escaping him.

Neona glanced at him, confused. "…? Hm."

For Rain—

This task was next to impossible.

In his entire life, he had only ever had one friend… back in his childhood. Even that could be considered a miracle—thanks to that little fairy who once stepped into his life.

And now—four? That wasn't a task, that was a joke.

"I'm screwed…" Rain murmured, a strained, hesitant smile on his face, fully aware of how hopeless his situation was.

"Yeah… I've officially had enough of this bullshit."
