Chapter 2 - Asiya's smile

Asiya slowly placed her phone on the table and glanced at the clock.

The time was perfectly normal—

but in her eyes, a different calculation seemed to be running.

For her, the future wasn't just a guess.

It was a clear image… like a scene she had already witnessed—

simply waiting to happen.

She got up calmly and walked into the bathroom.

A while later, after freshening up, she stood in front of the wardrobe—

Creak…

The wardrobe door opened on its own.

Asiya raised an eyebrow slightly, but there was no fear in her eyes.

Instead, there was a quiet familiarity—

as if these unnatural events were just a normal part of her life.

She took out a white T-shirt and a pair of jeans and got ready without a word.

Then she spread jam on a slice of bread, took a bite, and slowly walked downstairs.

Her footsteps echoed softly against the marble stairs of the vast house.

As soon as she entered the garage, the sleek black car seemed to be waiting just for her.

She opened the door and got in.

The moment the engine started, the car smoothly rolled out into the busy city streets.

After driving for a while—

Suddenly, traffic jam.

Horns blaring, people shouting, irritation buzzing in the air…

Asiya looked out of the window—

and her gaze stopped.

An elderly woman… carrying a heavy basket of fruits…

struggling to cross the road.

Amid the chaos of vehicles, she looked alone… helpless.

A subtle change appeared in Asiya's eyes.

Her gaze deepened.

She didn't waste a second.

Opening the car door, she stepped out.

"Careful, grandma… I'm here,"

she said gently.

The old woman looked surprised, but something in Asiya's eyes made her trust her.

She held her hand tightly.

Asiya carefully helped her cross the road.

Once they reached the other side, Asiya smiled softly and asked,

"Do you come here every day to sell fruits?"

The old woman nodded.

"Yes, dear…"

Suddenly, Asiya's eyes turned deep again.

As if she was seeing something—

something not present now… but about to happen.

"Then will you do me a favor?"

Her voice carried a strange firmness.

"Yes, dear… tell me."

"Tomorrow at 9 in the morning… don't cross the road.

If possible, just stay at home."

The old woman froze for a moment.

Surprised… yet unable to refuse.

"Grandma… give me your hand."

As she extended her hand, Asiya took out a red thread from her bag and tied it around her wrist.

"Don't take this off,"

she said calmly.

The old woman's eyes became moist.

"Alright, dear… may God bless you…"

Asiya smiled faintly.

"You too…"

Then she slowly walked back to her car.

Even in the chaos of the city, Asiya felt like a calm light.

She got in and drove away.

In another car—

The driver glanced at the rearview mirror and asked,

"Sir… should I start the car now?"

A second of silence.

Then—

A cold, steady voice,

"…Yes."

The car slowly moved forward.

The man sitting inside had a strange interest in his eyes…

as if he had been observing everything.

Meanwhile—

Asiya stopped her car in front of a grand, mansion-like house.

A large iron gate. A security cabin beside it.

"How are you, Jue uncle?"

Asiya asked with a smile.

Jue immediately stood straight.

"I'm well, didimoni."

"How is Shen yi? Has he started talking now?"

A spark of happiness lit up Jue's eyes.

"Yes! Thank you so much. Because of you, Shen yi is much better now.

He's not scared anymore… he studies, plays… he's not silent like before."

For a brief moment, softness flickered in Asiya's eyes.

She took out a chocolate from her bag and handed it over.

"Here, give this to Ronit."

Jue's eyes filled with tears.

Joining his hands, he said,

"Thank you… if you weren't there—"

Asiya gently stopped him with a smile.

"Don't say that. say hello to Shen yi?"

"Of course, madam!"

The gate opened.

Asiya walked inside slowly.

A large garden… a fountain in the middle… silence all around.

She parked the car and stood in front of the main door.

After a brief pause—

She rang the doorbell.

Ding Dong—

Footsteps were heard from inside.

The door opened—

"Mom! How are you?"

Asiya hugged her mother.

"Come in. Did you have breakfast?"

"No."

"Come, everyone is waiting."

At the dining table sat Lei Feng—

serious, stern.

Beside him, his elder son, Subir.

"Princess,"

Lei Jun said with a smile, placing a hand on her head.

"Brother, did you bring what I asked for?"

"Yes."

"What is it?" her mother asked.

Asiya smiled,

"Secret."

"Start breakfast,"

Lei Feng said in a firm tone.

Asiya hugged her father—

But he remained still.

"We'll talk after breakfast."

Asiya winked playfully,

"Looks like you're really angry…"

Her brother whispered,

"Don't worry. Princess has her smile!"

Asiya smiled, her dimples showing.

Lei jun laughed.

After a while — Living room

"Princess!"

Lei Feng called out in a serious voice.

"How many times have I told you—

stop all this fortune-telling, ghost hunting, feng shui nonsense!"

There wasn't just anger in his voice…

there was fear.

"One day, people will call you a fraud and send you to jail!"

Asiya stood calmly.

"But Dad… none of this is false."

"True or not—I don't want you doing this!"

"Today my friend told me—you went to his house."

Asiya spoke slowly,

"They needed me…"

"No means no!"

Lei Feng roared.

The air in the room grew heavy.

A moment of silence.

And suddenly—

Lei Feng remembered that day…
