Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: A Space Called Reality

Darini didn't say much as they walked.

Arjun followed quietly, observing everything—the streets, the turns, the small details that made up her world now. This wasn't just a city to him anymore.

It was her life.

---

They reached her place.

A modest apartment in a slightly crowded lane. Nothing extravagant. Nothing too small either. Just… lived-in.

Darini unlocked the door and stepped inside.

Arjun followed.

---

For the first time, he saw her world—not through words, but in reality.

---

The living room was simple. A couch, slightly worn but clean. A small table cluttered with books, a half-empty water bottle, a few scattered pens.

There were no decorative pieces trying to impress anyone.

Everything felt practical. Real.

---

His eyes moved slowly—

To the shelves filled with neatly stacked books.

To a corner where a pair of headphones rested beside a notebook.

To the window where rain tapped softly against the glass.

---

It felt like her.

Quiet. Organized. Minimal.

---

"You can sit," Darini said, placing her bag aside.

Her tone was normal.

Almost too normal.

---

Arjun nodded, sitting down, still taking everything in.

"So this is where you've been hiding," he said lightly.

She didn't respond to that.

Just walked toward her room.

"I'll just… change."

---

He watched her disappear behind the door.

And suddenly—

It felt strange.

Being here.

Being part of her space.

---

The sound of running water filled the silence.

Arjun leaned back slightly, exhaling.

Everything felt real now.

Not messages.

Not calls.

Her life.

Her space.

Her.

---

After a while, she came out.

Fresh, changed into comfortable clothes, her hair slightly damp from the shower.

She didn't look at him immediately.

Just walked straight to the kitchen.

"I'll make something," she said.

---

And just like that—

She slipped into her routine.

---

Arjun sat there, listening to the subtle sounds—the clinking of utensils, the rhythm of her movements in the kitchen.

It was oddly… calming.

---

A while later, the door opened again.

Her roommates were back.

---

Two girls stepped in, laughing about something, shaking off the rain.

Then they saw him.

---

A brief pause.

A quick glance exchanged between them.

---

They walked straight to the kitchen.

"Is he here?" one of them whispered, trying not to sound obvious.

Darini didn't turn.

"Yeah."

Just that.

---

No explanation.

No introduction.

---

The girls peeked once more toward the living room.

Then smiled.

A small, knowing smile.

---

And without saying anything further—

They both went to their rooms.

---

Arjun noticed it.

The curiosity.

The silence.

The unspoken understanding.

---

Everything felt new.

A little awkward.

A little unfamiliar.

---

But also—

Strangely right.

---

Darini returned after a few minutes.

"Food will take time," she said simply.

---

Arjun nodded.

He looked at her.

Really looked this time.

---

This wasn't the Darini from messages.

This was someone real.

Someone with a life, a routine, a space he was just stepping into.

---

And maybe—

For the first time—

He realized that knowing someone through words

and being a part of their world

were two very different things.

To be continued...
