Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: The Summer Liquidation

## **Chapter 8: The Summer Liquidation**

The first year at Hogwarts ended with the quiet, efficient clicking of Julian's Neural-Link rather than the usual cheers of the End-of-Term Feast. While other Ravenclaws were busy trading Chocolate Frog cards and worrying about their summer homework, Julian sat in the common room, watching the sun dip below the Forbidden Forest, reviewing his first annual fiscal report.

The "Ravenclaw Grant" had been a resounding success. Not only had it secured him the loyalty of the smartest house in school, but it had provided the data he needed to understand how magic and money interacted on a large scale.

### **The Return to Vane Manor**

Stepping off the Hogwarts Express in June 1982, Julian was met by Silas and a newly refurbished, high-security carriage. Vane Manor had been completely transformed during his absence. What was once a drafty, crumbling relic was now a fortress of obsidian-reinforced stone, protected by both ancient blood wards and Tech-World cloaking field generators.

"Welcome home, Master Julian," Silas said as they rolled toward the gates. He laid a thick, dragon-hide folder on the desk inside the carriage. "The international expansion is moving at 110% of projected speed. However, as per your instructions, we have entered the 'Cooling Phase' in Britain."

"The market was bloated, Silas," Julian said, his **Appraisal Eye** scanning the reports. "If we kept pushing, the Galleon would be worth less than the paper we print the contracts on."

### **The First Month: Slowing the Taps**

The first month of summer was dedicated to **Consolidation.** Julian spent his days in the climate-controlled study of Vane Manor, watching the global maps pulse with blue data.

* **Britain:** He ordered a total freeze on new personal loans for three weeks. He wanted the "Vane Debt Relief" program—the half-interest rate cut—to do its work. By making money slightly harder to get, he stabilized the price of basic goods in Diagon Alley. The baker Barnaby Twilfit saw flour prices finally stop climbing, and for the first time in months, the public's anger began to turn into a strange, uneasy gratitude.

* **The Ministry:** Julian authorized Silas to "audit" the Minister's 2,000,000 Galleon credit line. He wasn't asking for the money back; he was simply reminding the Minister that the debt existed. It was a tether, keeping the Ministry from passing any "Wealth Transparency" laws that might expose Julian's dummy companies.

### **The Global Chessboard**

While Britain cooled, Julian spent **10,000 Points** to purchase **Loyalty-Locked Broker Constructs** for his overseas offices.

* **The Americas:** His broker in New York began buying up Muggle "distressed debt" from the early 80s recession.

* **Europe:** In France and Germany, he moved away from personal loans and started buying **Agricultural Bonds.** He wanted to own the land that grew the potion ingredients. If he controlled the supply of Moongrass and Mandrake, he controlled the price of every potion in Europe.

### **The Weasley Reconciliation**

Through a series of five different shell companies, Julian ensured that Arthur Weasley received a "Government Bonus" for his work in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office. It wasn't enough to make them rich, but it was enough to pay off their Vane Student Loan early.

> **[SYSTEM NOTIFICATION]**

> **Debt Forgiveness Milestone Reached.**

> **Goodwill Earned:** +500 Points.

> **Observation:** Strategic generosity yields higher long-term loyalty than aggressive collection.

### **The End of June**

As June came to a close, Julian stood on the balcony of Vane Manor. He was eleven years old, his first year of magical education was behind him, and he had successfully prevented a total economic collapse of his own making.

He had moved from a "furious buyer" to a "quiet owner." The world felt stable again, but it was a stability Julian owned.

"Tippy," Julian called. The elf appeared in his new silk tunic. "Tell Silas to prepare the invitation for the Malfoys. It's time we discussed their mortgage. I believe they've been living on my gold for long enough."

**[SUMMER STATUS]**

* **Inflation:** Stabilized at 2.1%.

* **Muggle Portfolio:** Up 15%.

* **Hogwarts Mortgage:** First payment received.

* **Current Points:** 22,000.

Julian smiled. The summer was only half-finished, and he already had the most powerful families in Britain looking at their mailboxes with trembling hands.
