The twins had changed their minds decided to go with the hero instead going back home immediately. The twins as usual, were clinging to either arm of Mio while sitting on the shoulder of Jaxon. Vayleen was stitting on his head and Lloyd and Kyle were sitting on his other shoulder the reason for this was because Aki nor Ryuki couldn't fly at the moment so he offered since he takes bigger steps and would cut the travel time down considerably.
"oh Mio you're so adorable with twin tails"
"so fucking cute, it's a good thing that there were four left now we all match"
Aki and Ryuki say while the cuddle closer to Mio who is shrinking back and trying to move her hands to cover her face but she can't because the twins are holding her arms. as they were dotting on her several monsters flew down from the sky some approached from the ground but the ones on the ground were squished and kicked away by Jaxon and the flying monsters, 3 snowy falcons, 5 griffins and a blood eagle. the snowy falcons were about the size of a human the griffins about twice the size of a horse and the blood eagle was five times the size of a snowy falcon.
"this is good timing"
"yeah. all of you sit back and let us do this we got new skills that we wanted to try"
Ryuki and Aki say as they stand up and glare at the flying monsters and their eyes shined and the monsters except the blood eagle stopped dead in their tracks and started attacking the blood eagle however the blood eagle dispatched them receiving a couple of scratches. Confused but still aggressive kept charging at the group but Aki jumped forward but she miscalculated the distance and swung her short sword just short of the whole birds head and slightly to the left of the center but she did smash its beak and she fell down to the ground landing gracefully and she did she spread her wings and flew back up to the bird and cut its neck cleanly this time causing dark blue blood to pour from the wound on its neck like a waterfall and it slowly starts falling down because of the blood loss and Jaxon kicked it as hard as he could sending it flying.
"hey so like why did those other monsters start fighting that blood eagle?"
"like we said it was our now skill, 'charm' it less us charm anything that's a twentieth of our strength or weaker and does whatever we will it to but too bad for that blood eagle it was just smidgen stronger so it had to die."
"nevermind that why was there a blood eagle out here in the first place? they only live in mountains"
Kyle interrupts the talk between Lloyd and Aki as Jaxon continues walking while Aki reclaims her seat on his shoulder next to Mio.
"Why's it matter? maybe it was just gathering food."
"maybe but the stuff they do eat aren't found in these woods and the nearest known blood eagle nest to here is on the other side of the capital which is about a day and half from here and that nest is another two days travel from the capital"
"yeah now that i think about it that is the case isn't it? maybe we should let the king know. but... i don't really wanna go to the castle at all if i can help it"
"neither do i"
Lloyd and Kyle shiver while they hug themselves thinking about someone from the castle. Vayleen who heard and is curios dropped down to the shoulder they were on.
"why not? is there bad blood between you and the king? i'm not all that into politics but isn't it bad if the human king and the hero aren't on good terms?"
"no not exactly i'd just rather not talk about that person."
"neither do i"
Lloyd and Kyle let out a shuddering sigh as they relax themselves and Vayleen pouts but leaves them alone. The group keeps walking without much trouble for an hour more but Jaxon starts getting tired and decides to stop in a clearing that is about a Jaxon and a half in every direction.
"lets get lunch started, i'll handle cooking all of you just relax."
Kyle says as he pulls out a magic stove out of thin air which was actually storage magic that he obtained during his ten years of training along with several pans and ingredients.
While Kyle was preparing lunch, Ryuki and Aki went a bit away from everyone else and took out the hydra heads from the magic bag. the reason why he and Aki only took the heads was because they also floated up the surface with Ryuki while the rest of the body sank and the tail drifted away from the force of the battle.
"as expected even this will rot after 4 days of being dead."
"yeah, at least the scales are still in good shape"
The twins say as they each take one of Aki's swords and start peeling the scales from the skin after that they completely cut it apart separating the scales, skin, meat, brains, eyes and magic stones each about the size of a basketball and rainbow in color.
Magic stones have several colors corresponding to the rank of the monster they're found in. E is the lowest and have green colored crystals, D is next and they have blue colored crystals, C have yellow crystals, B have orange crystals, A have red crystals, S have rainbow crystals and Z have black crystals. E and D monsters can be taken out with relative ease by green ranked adventurers which is the lowest rank, C can be taken out with a group of five green ranked or two red B can be taken out by a silver ranked, A can be taken out by a group of six gold rank or one black rank, S are strong enough to go against five black ranked and still possibly make it out alive Ryuki and Aki were able to win because each of them were four times stronger than the previous strongest black rank who was actually their grandfather from their birth moms side his name is Vasper Akril and he actually trained them a bit at the time when he learned of their existence from a letter his daughter had left at the house they were killed in which was left alone and abandoned along with the whole village after the dragons attacked and he didn't go there until a hundred years later after her death because a hundred years is a very short time to vampires. And finally Z ranked shouldn't even be fought against at all even the previous hero who is ten times stronger than the current Lloyd and his party of twenty in which each had the same strength of the current Lloyd had lost fifteen of his comrades before taking it out with a suicide bombing (figure of speech but he did die with it).
Soon after the twins finished looting the heads for goods they toss the rotting meat and skin away into the forest but keep the crystals, eyes, brains and scales and put those in the magic bag and go back to the rest of the group and sit on either side of Mio who was eating a hamburger like food with a salad same as everyone else except Jaxon who was eating fried blood eagle yes the very same one he kicked and it miraculously landed near this clearing.
"so like you two don't eat anything at all?"
"no"
"we used to but after having your blood there's no way we could eat anything else its like eating nothing but peppers your whole life then having steak for the first time there's just no going back"
"yes, so take responsibility"
The twins say as they crawl slowly toward and push her on the ground while licking their lips in a seductive manner even Aki with the scar but it somehow only makes her sexier and they bite her neck drinking her dry once again. This time she does pass out from the twins draining her and her nose bleed.
"oh dear"
"did we drink more than usual? is she dead? Oi holy man heal her"
"not even i can do anything about blood loss just wait till she recovers on her own"
"tch, useless"
Ryuki clicks his tongue and turns away while muttering his breath.
Two hours later Mio woke up and twins clung to her while crying somewhat and apologizing then the group begins moving again. After five hours of nothing but walking and resting every now and again night falls and the group decide to set up camp in same place Lloyd and Kyle met the twins, Jaxon and Vayleen and where Mio was summoned.
"man what a coincidence having to stop in the same place we all met"
Lloyd says as he helps Ryuki set up the tents while Mio and Aki were looking for relatively dry wood in a forest full of snow however they do eventually find some if only some branches but Aki uses her breath attack from her hand to dry out some other wood and they use that and get the first started and at the same time Lloyd and Ryuki finish setting up the three tents one for Lloyd and Kyle, one for Vayleen and one for the twins and Mio.
As they were sitting around the fire eating dinner something rose from the fire it was a baby fire spirit it was red and orange like a fire but it looked like a cat and it's tail looked a lit bomb fuse and its about the size of a baseball.
The newborn spirit opened its eyes as it floated there above the fire looking around at all the confused faces before settling on Aki and it floated over to her and it pressed its head to her lips contracting her.
"uhh what's happening?"
"I think it just formed a contract with her right? that's what the mark on its head means right?"
"yeah i hear spirits are born from high amounts of mana mixed with their specific element"
Kyle answered Vayleen's question as he leans forward to get a closer look at the flame spirit now lying on Aki's shoulder blissfully unaware to the shock its presence is causing as it notices everyone looking at it, it tilts its head and goes 'nya' softly.
"well it's kinda cute isn't it?"
"yeah, it doesn't seem to be hurting anyone right now, so let's just leave it be."
Just like that the group easily accepts the addition to the new team member swayed purely by it's cuteness though.
"it needs a name, right? we can't keep calling it, it?"
"what about... Aki Jr? it was born from your fire so its like your kid. oh wow i cant believe i'm already an aunt this is great big bro we got a niece? nephew? now that i think of it do spirits have a gender?"
"no they don't as they don't have reproductive systems or a stomach as they feed on their masters mana but a wild one will eat random living things' mana"
Kyle answers Vayleen's question while she while she was poking Aki Jr.
"then Aki Jr it is then"
after that the group minus the twins finished eating and started going into their tents and when the twins and Mio entered their tent Ryuki took out a stone artifact that had a sound barrier and a black out barrier on it and activated it. a sound barrier seals sound inside it so it cant escape and blackout barrier makes the affected space completely invisible.
After the barrier were set up Ryuki and Aki stripped while crawling slowly to Mio who was backing up with a nose bleed.
"wh-wh-what are you doing?"
"married couples start baby making the day after the proposal right?"
"since we couldn't do it then we'll do it now"
Ryuki and Aki pushed Mio down and that night a girl who was suddenly summoned to another world became a woman.
The morning after the group wakes up and start packing up. Ryuki was looking haggard Aki was looking glossy and Mio who couldn't stand was also looking glossy and haggard all stuck out like sore thumbs, Vayleen who knew what happened started pestering Mio with a mischievous grin. They all finished packing up and got on Jaxon once again and they arrived at the capital Endria.
"halt let's see some id before continuing"
A knight stops the group at the gates and Lloyd jumps down and the knight who saw him immediately lets the group into the city after Lloyd explained they were part of his party and the rest of group got off Jaxon and decided to look around a bit.
"alright so we need to go the castle and tell his majesty the hydra has been taken care of and that something is messing with the blood eagles territory."
The group follows Lloyd while looking around and Mio was grabbing various meat skewers and eating them on the way to the castle. When they arrived at the castle the knights let the group pass seeing Lloyd and Kyle with them but hesitate slightly seeing the giant and the twins but they get through without much issue except Jaxon who had to crawl through the doors to get in. as soon as they entered a beautiful young girl about 16 years of age wearing a frilly blue dress with blue eyes and white styled into five drills dashed out and leapt onto Lloyd and Kyle.
"my husbands you have returned"
this chapter was double the usual length cuz i wanted chapter ten to be the last chapter for this volume and i will also be taking a break before starting volume two as most of my ideas are running on empty honestly last chapter was basically just filler and i was scraping the bottom of the barrel but i wont be stopping just taking a break i know this isn't very long but as i've said this is my first book and i'm not all that good at writing but if despite that you want more please tell me also i'm sorry i was focusing more on the twins and their group rather than Lloyd if it wasn't obvious the twins are my favorite characters but i do love all these characters starting next volume i'll be focusing more on Lloyd and Kyle and i know the relationship between the twins and Mio went kind of quick but honestly would you rather you sit through a whole volume of screaming "just get together already jeez" at your screen or witness the romance while the relationship is already established and besides could you as guy continuously refuse the advances of a really beautiful girl and could you as a girl continuously refuse the advances of a really handsome guy? no i don't think you could anyway see you next volume
