Chapter 19 - Red dragon vs Blue dragon

I wonder what Kalon is hunting this time, he's being so secretive," White Dragon Gemotgrumbled from within the Dragon, towards Black Dragon Rosani's rear.

"Perhaps he's found a very powerful monster and wants us to help him take it down." Black Dragon Rosani flapped his wings indifferently. Ever since he missed his chance during his first hunt for the Boar King, he had been very enthusiastic about hunting. He didn't want the Dragonto think he was a weak Dragon.

"What are all these Kobolds doing down there?" Rosani saw the distant gathering of Kobold tribes. "Kalon wouldn't want the Dragons to destroy these weak Kobolds, would he? I could do that alone."

"That's… oh, a glittering gold mine! I smell a strong scent of treasure! Kalon, did you bring us here just to kill these smelly Kobolds and retrieve the treasure?!" Greedy Antagena's keen eyes spotted mountains of gold and various ores.

There were also some roughly refined gold nuggets of various sizes, neatly stacked into small mounds. Next to these mounds were several wooden crates filled with jewelry made from various precious stones, a hobby of the Kobolds. A sharp cry then echoed through the area.

The shadows of the Dragon's wings under the sun rapidly approached. The terrified Kobolds gathered on the ground, already kneeling in prayer, frightened by the overwhelming might of the Dragon. Some timid Kobolds even urinated on the spot.

The Dragon landed in front of the kneeling Kobolds, the raised dust obscuring the short Kobolds. But the Dragon paid no mind, each Dragon's eyes filled with greed as they gazed at the piled treasures on the ground, even Akzi was no exception.

He had never seen so much gold. This was the accumulated treasure of a Kobold tribe of nearly a thousand members, amassed over countless years of searching and digging beneath the plains. Even among adult giant Dragons, such a quantity of treasure was rare.

The greed born with the Evil Dragon Bloodline consumed the giant Dragon's mind. Akzi instinctively walked towards the small mountain of gold nuggets, not caring when his raised Dragon claw crushed two terrified Kobolds prostrate on the ground into pulp.

"You'd better stop, Akzi. These are my dependents; I will not allow you to harm them. And this is my treasure; you are not allowed to touch it." The Red Dragon's warning voice rang out from behind him.

"Roar!" Akzi, whose mind was already clouded by greed, turned his head and roared wildly, "I am the Young Dragon of this family, I raised you little brats. You belong to the family, and these treasures should be controlled and distributed by me. If anyone disobeys, I will kill him, and then he will lose his share."

The Young Dragons, also driven by greed, surrounded him, but their minds cleared considerably. They roared in anger and took a step back. Facing the Young Dragon Akzi's threat, they temporarily had no ability to resist.

Kalon, instead of retreating, stepped forward, his eyes fixed on the raging Blue Dragon. Word by word, he said, "Akzi, whose eyes are blinded by burdensome greed, show me your so-called power in front of me. Let's see if you are qualified to dominate my treasure. If I lose, the treasure is yours. If you lose, then submit to me and proclaim me King!"

The raging Akzi immediately became even more furious. A bolt of lightning shot out from between the nostrils of the Blue Dragon, who controlled storms and lightning in the sky. He spread his wings and soared, accompanied by the Blue Dragon's chilling voice, "Come, Kalon. It seems the praise of the Young Dragons has made you lose your way. I'll give you this chance to challenge me. Prepare for death, I will not hold back."

"Kalon," Dos, his face full of worry, stopped the Red Dragon who was about to ascend. The Blue Dragons was known for their wisdom among the Evil Dragons. Dos, who prided himself on his wisdom, was also a giant Dragon who admired strength, but he looked down on those giant Dragons who only used brute force. Dos had always admired Kalon's ability to control the chaotic bloodline of the Evil Dragon, so he liked and respected the Red Dragon, whose rationality outweighed his wildness.

"Time is on your side, Kalon. We can temporarily leave the treasure with Akzi, and when we grow stronger, we can take it back." The Blue Dragon knew the Red Dragon was far stronger than himself, and no battle had ever pushed him to his limits, but in his eyes, he still couldn't contend with Akzi.

"Yes, time is on our side," the other Young Dragons also shed their greedy impulses and chimed in. Although giant Dragons grow stronger with time, and Akzi would also grow stronger when they reached a sufficient level of power, they were a small group, and there was strength in numbers. And as for the Red Dragon, no Young Dragon believed he would be weaker than Akzi in the future.

Only the stubborn Young Dragon Klenaya snorted sparks, her warlike Red Dragon bloodline driving her to stomp forward. "How about we all rush him now and take him down? Kalon, as long as you give the order, I will follow in your footsteps and fight, never retreating."

Kalon laughed loudly with a rumble, extending his thirteen-meter wingspan and standing upright, looking down at the several Young Dragons who had gathered around him, and said happily, "You know what? I'm very happy today. I also want to know what level I can reach when I go all out."

"Your mission is to guard my treasure!"

The Red Dragon's booming laughter gradually turned frantic. The Evil Dragon's new blood was no longer suppressed, and an uncontrollable surge of rage and destructive desire accompanied the throbbing bloodline. The deep red and golden scales on the giant Dragon's body shimmered with dazzling light. The heat emanating from the gaps in his scales transformed into a cloud of magma-like vapor enveloping the colossal beast. The rapidly surging magic within his patterns turned the giant Dragon's broad wings into a pair of fiery red, iron-like wings. Accompanied by his frantic laughter, the Red Dragon stomped the ground beneath him, shattering it, and soared into the sky.

In this battle, Kalon chose to discard all skill and consciousness. He surrendered his body to the madly roaring Evil Dragon Blood. He wanted to defeat his enemy with pure strength and flesh, and then trample him underfoot.

Kalon didn't care about Akzi, who held the high ground. He charged directly towards the Blue Dragon, who was already poised in the sky, anticipating the Blue Dragon to also dive down. Even if the Red Dragon was powerful, at the Young Dragon stage, it was impossible for him to directly contend with and overpower a Blue Dragon at the end of its adolescent stage with pure strength.

Such a physical collision might cause the Red Dragon to be unable to dodge and fall rapidly, or perhaps suffer severe injuries. But he would also take the opportunity to pull down the Blue Dragon, who controlled storms and was more agile in the sky, and then tear him apart with his claws, teeth, and body.

But the Blue Dragon, high in the sky, seeing the giant Dragon with frantic eyes, wings turned into fiery wings, and enveloped in magma vapor like a demon, charging towards him, involuntarily felt a hint of hesitation and wavering. This was not a deterrence from Dragon Might, but an aura blossoming from the depths of his heart that overwhelmed the Blue Dragon's spirit.

Just for that fleeting moment of hesitation, Akzi missed his opportunity and could only twist his body upwards to dodge the Red Dragon's impact. At the same time, the Blue Dragon opened his mouth, and a long-dragon outline in the making lightning breath shot through the air, carrying the ozone scent of scorched air as it struck.

The lightning breath was like real lightning, reaching the charging Red Dragon in the next second. This was a speed too fast for the naked eye to react to. However, the Red Dragon's gaze had been locked on Akzi's figure, and when Akzi opened his mouth, the Red Dragon had already reacted. Whoosh, an extremely condensed column of fire, the size of a fist, shot out from Kalon's mouth, the rapidly moving column of fire making a loud whistling sound as it cut through the air.

The Young Blue Dragon's lightning breath was far more powerful than the Young Red Dragon's fire breath. However, the Red Dragon in front of him was not an ordinary Young Dragon. The magic fire attached to the condensed column of fire was also constantly burning away the power of the lightning breath, and the two Dragons' breaths were surprisingly locked in a stalemate in the air for a short time.

The Blue Dragon had no choice but to flap his wings to dodge the Red Dragon's forward charge, which sought to close in on him, while simultaneously increasing the intensity of his breath to suppress the Red Dragon's flames. He realized that he could not withdraw his breath first, otherwise, he would not only suffer the blow of the fire breath but also allow the Red Dragon to seize the opportunity to close in and gain the upper hand.

But he couldn't keep dodging like this. So, the enraged Blue Dragon maintained his breath while beginning to chant in Dragon Language in his throat. This was a spell he had awakened, a treasure he found in the Blue Dragon's inheritance: Lightning Cage. (Giant Dragons have specialized in there elemental breath attacks , and their flexible tongues and unique throats allow them to chant Dragon Language and cast spells while breathing.)

The Red Dragon's thick, muscular Dragon horns also lit up, as magic rapidly converged. The rising high temperature scorched the air, and a fireball condensed between the six-pronged Dragon horns. Its bright, fiery color, carrying scorching heat, surged towards the chanting Blue Dragon.

The Blue Dragon closed his eyes, his lightning breath still maintained. Boom! The exploding flames interrupted the Blue Dragon's chanting, and also broke the stalemate of the two Dragons' breaths.

Before the flames from the exploded fireball could disperse, the Red Dragon seized the opportunity, breaking through the fiery barrier to appear before the Blue Dragon. He extended his front claw, covered in scales cracked by the fireball, and firmly clamped down on the Blue Dragon's slender neck. The power brought by the awakened ancient bloodline, the Domain – All Things Turn to Ash, erupted from his body. The high temperature, desiring to incinerate all things, enveloped the sky, making the air ripple from the scorching heat.

The Blue Dragon, regaining his senses, felt the Red Dragon's domain suppression. The magic that usually surrounded him and was readily available was also being burned away. The domain was slowly turning into a magic desert, where only the Red Dragon's power would eventually exist.

Akzi struggled fiercely. The Young Dragon's strength was not something Kalon could fully suppress. The Blue Dragon's sharp claws cut through the layer of earth element protection covering Kalon's chest and abdomen, then slashed through the metallic elements forming an outer armor on his scales, and finally broke through the Red Dragon's tough scales. But the power of the claws stopped there, only creating a few seemingly large but not very deep gashes on the Red Dragon's body. Hot, scalding dragon blood overflowed, igniting the rage of the Evil Dragon Blood.

The injured Evil Dragon's rage surged. He opened his massive, fanged maw and bit down on the Blue Dragon's moving left front paw. His ferocious Dragon head twisted left and right, actually biting off and tearing Akzi's left front paw. The gushing dragon blood splattered on Kalon's face, mixing with the Red Dragon's blood as it dripped from the sky. Akzi, howling in pain, was also pulled down by the enraged Red Dragon, falling heavily from the sky.
