Hearing Yuelan's cold words, Zheng Shui took a step backward and drew his sword. In an instant, thick blue Qi surrounded his sword, but before he could even swing it down, Yuelan appeared in front of him.
The movement was nearly instant, and that was because Yuelan combined Swift Step and Void Step.
She was using the speed of Swift Step and the slight teleportation of Void Step to accelerate herself, but it wasn't perfect by any means. After all, she needed much more Void Qi to use the technique fully.
Even so, Zheng Shui could do nothing but watch as Yuelan's sword neared his throat.
But right as it was about to connect, she suddenly swung downwards, and in an instant, his hands went flying into the air.
"AAAH!" Zheng Shui screamed in agony, and before he knew it, his little brother went flying into the air before being sliced into thin little pieces and vanishing into dust.
Yuelan put on a confident look, sheathed her blade, then turned toward Xuan and gave him a thumbs up.
"I've successfully eunuchified the opponent," Yuelan said in a silly voice.
Xuan rolled his eyes. "Yeah... I can see that."
Of course, Zheng Shui's little brother was no more, but at least now, he was a bit more open to talking.
Zheng Shui scrambled to his feet, his legs trembling as he covered himself up. But just as he was about to Swift Step away, Xuan grabbed him by the throat and slammed him down onto the ground.
"We are friends now," Xuan said with a smile. "And as friends, we should be nice to each other, right? So can you take us to get some food? You're an inner disciple, so food over there must be much better than out here. Am I wrong?"
"W-Who are you people?" Zheng Shui whimpered. "What did I do to deserve such treatment? I... I came down from the upper realms because my father promised me that I could dominate all you weak cultivators..."
"Sounds like someone has finally understood what position they're in," Yuelan chimed in, stepping closer. "Zheng Shui, I won't hurt you anymore, you don't have to worry. But that's only if you reciprocate our kindness, hm?"
He seemed dazed, but even so, he tapped Xuan's forearm, making him ease up his grip.
Because of that, Zheng Shui stood up once again and pointed in the distance. It was another section of the sect grounds, and it was separated by a single brick wall.
"Follow me... I will treat you two to some food, and then..."
All of a sudden, a thin red vein appeared on Zheng Shui's forehead, but just as quickly, it went away.
However, it didn't go unnoticed by Yuelan or Xuan.
She tugged at his sleeve, then sent another message.
Xuan sighed.
Seeing that she wasn't disagreeing with him, they went ahead and followed after Zheng Shui.
They jumped over the giant wall, and in the next instant, identical sect grounds appeared in their sights. Except, they were slightly more maintained, even if there were close to no people actually here.
Still, Zheng Shui led them to the disciples' quarters, and Xuan could immediately tell the difference. The Qi here was much denser, and he felt that if he were to sit down and cultivate, he would get much more Qi than he normally would.
The disciples' quarters were split into several different parts: the sleeping quarters, the cafeteria, and the seclusion rooms meant for cultivation.
Oh, and of course, a personal room dedicated to alchemy.
Zheng Shui pointed at the cafeteria, sweat dripping down his forehead. It seemed like he would pass out at any moment.
"You two go eat... I must concoct myself a restoration pill," he said, and before Xuan could utter a word, Zheng Shui dashed away, fading into the distance.
Yuelan hummed. "What are the odds he's going to call his father?"
"Pretty high," Xuan replied with a shrug. "We just need to finish the food before he arrives."
"Mmm... good point." Yuelan giggled, and without further ado, the two stepped into the cafeteria.
There were exactly zero disciples present, but trays of food were everywhere.
So of course, the two wouldn't shy away from free food.
.
.
.
(30 minutes later, cafeteria.)
The cafeteria was officially a wasteland, and in that very same wasteland's center lay two figures. Their bellies were at least ten times their normal size, and that was because they managed to gain access to the fridge.
Coincidentally, the fridge had a lot of food, and since it felt like they hadn't eaten in years, Xuan and Yuelan ate everything.
Yuelan burped and slowly stood up, slightly staggering.
"I'm not hungry anymore... ugh... I think I'm going to throw up," Yuelan said, preparing to vomit all over the cafeteria.
But before she could do that, several footsteps rang out from the distance. To both of their surprise, the pressure that was being emitted was definitely beyond the Spirit Warrior Realm, which meant that the ones approaching were at least Spirit Masters.
And of course, Xuan took this as their cue to get out of there.
He stood up and grabbed Yuelan by the waist, and then he used Void Step, vanishing from the cafeteria and reappearing a few hundred meters above the Azure Sky Sect grounds.
Because he was in a hurry, he had no time to regulate the amount of Qi he had input, so instead of the usual 50 meters, he went slightly beyond.
And because of that, his skill's mastery had suddenly increased.
