[You have entered a Frost Demon Dimensional Gate]
[Difficulty: First Level Spirit Master]
They even have the difficulty? It's not that high either, Xuan thought with a hum.
"Yuelaaaaaaan! I know you're having fun, but let me get a kill too, okay?" Xuan yelled at the top of his lungs, his voice echoing throughout the cave.
But even so, no response came, which pissed him off slightly.
If I knew she was going to try soloing a dungeon, then I would've done a couple on my own.
Anyhow, Xuan took a step forward, then suddenly halted.
A distant wave of Demonic Qi washed past him, then vanished as if it never existed in the first place. Though he was sure it came from somewhere below.
I guess it's called the Frost Demon Dimensional Gate for a reason... I can't help but feel like something's a little off though.
Keeping his guard up, Xuan quickly made his way through the cave, nearly slipping a few times.
Aside from the monsters and the entire cave literally being made out of ice, there wasn't anything special about it. The monsters had been cool for the first five or so times he had seen them, but by now, the pattern was clear.
White wolf, Yeti, and some flying frost bats.
But it was clear that there had to be something at the end for this dungeon to be classified as First Level Spirit Master difficulty.
The moment he had that thought, and when he turned the corner, he saw Yuelan with her beautiful sword weaving under the attacks of a massive Yeti.
Despite its size, it wasn't slow, and Xuan was sure if they were weaker, then they would have trouble.
But at this point, Yuelan was just playing with it.
And as expected, she slashed the Yeti's tendons, and once it crouched down, she leaped into the air and slashed its neck, causing a crisp and clean sound to ring out.
It was almost like she was cutting through butter, and once she landed back down on the ground, she turned toward Xuan with an obsessed expression, her hair covered in blood.
"This is just like in the games. I can run around, dodge monster attacks, and then kill them with a perfectly timed hit," Yuelan said, trembling before suddenly throwing her arms up into the air. "Let's kill the boss next! Come, Xuan, let's go—"
Before she could finish her words, Xuan bonked her over the head.
"You sound like a battle junkie. Calm down."
Yuelan's brows twitched, but instead of retaliating, she simply lowered her head, accepting defeat.
"Fine... But we are going to do more dungeons, right?" she asked, basically pleading.
Xuan stared at her for a moment, then came up with a great idea.
"How about we do dungeons on our own?" Xuan suggested. "Look how fast you're clearing this dungeon, and after you're done, you'll get some item, or maybe even a skill."
He raised a single finger. "We can transfer skills between each other, and there's one thing I noticed... While you were asleep, I went to an event, and after killing the boss monster, I got a reward based on contribution. And of course, the higher your damage, the higher the contribution."
"But there's also a Last-Hit reward that merges with your contribution reward. So basically, doing dungeons separately is better, because we can just transfer the skills between each other," Xuan finished.
Yuelan remained quiet for a few moments before reluctantly nodding.
"Okay... But let's do dungeons together when they're too hard for one of us to handle, okay?" Yuelan asked, pointing her finger at him. "And I'm not taking a 'No' for an answer."
Xuan shrugged. "Sure. Though I doubt we'll find something we can't handle just yet."
"Heh, maybe," Yuelan snickered, turning toward the section of a cave that seemed to split into two parts. "How about this, you head left, and I'll go right. Whoever finds the boss and kills them first, wins."
"Wins what?" Xuan raised a brow.
Yuelan grinned. "The loser will have to cook food for the winner for an entire week."
Upon hearing those words, Xuan blasted off the ground Void Stepping to the nearest corner.
And like that, he turned left, navigating through the entire dungeon until eventually, he spotted a few monsters.
They seemed like the casual white wolves and Yetis, so Xuan didn't waste time on them and simply skipped past them.
The cave kept growing more narrow, and as he thought he was getting nearer to the boss room, he suddenly found himself staring at a dead end.
"..."
Holding out a little hope, he struck the wall, shattering it in an instant and causing a giant hole to form. However, there was nothing beyond it except stone.
Xuan's fist trembled in annoyance as he turned around, ready to head back. But that was when the ground underneath his feet cracked, sending him tumbling down a giant hole.
"Seriously..." Xuan mumbled and glanced around the hole.
It was surprisingly wide, its radius spanning nearly five and a half Yuelans.
And from the looks of things, there was no end in sight. But since he was already in the midst of falling, Xuan decided to speed up the process by spamming Void Step.
Once, twice, ten times, fifty times.
The air began to distort, and that was when, instead of the ground, he spotted something else.
The space in front of him cracked, and a moment later, a wave of pop-ups appeared before him.
[Ding!]
[You have overused the Void Step skill!]
[You have caused a spatial rupture!]
[Notice: The rupture will start consuming the Dimensional Gate momentarily, it is advised that the user makes their way out of the Dimensional Gate before it is too late.]
[Time until the rupture consumes the Dimensional Gate: 5 Minutes.]
Although those pop-ups did warn him, the sheer fact that he was heading straight into the spatial crack didn't help. Even when he tried casting Void Step, nothing happened, almost like his Qi was not circulating in this particular area.
And because of that, he soon fell through the spatial crack. His vision was assaulted by a large variety of colors, followed by his body floating in the seemingly endless space.
He always thought space would be colorless and empty, and yet, there was nothing but color around him, and if Xuan had to guess, all those colors had something to do with Qi affinities.
It was deathly quiet, and the smell of metal hung in the space as he slowly drifted aimlessly.
I can still breathe at least, Xuan thought, turning around toward the crack which he came from.
However...
Huh? Where's the spatial crack?
