Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The First Gate

Sector 9 was no longer quiet.

Not after what happened.

The air itself felt disturbed.

Like something had been awakened.

Blaine walked deeper.

Step by step.

Calm.

Unhurried.

But his senses—

Sharp.

Always watching.

Because now—

He knew.

This place wasn't the limit.

Just a doorway.

To something more.

The system remained active.

[Strength: 210]

Stable.

But growth had slowed.

As expected.

Weaker enemies no longer mattered.

Then—

A strange sound echoed.

Not from ahead.

Not from behind.

Everywhere.

A low vibration.

Like space itself was trembling.

"…"

Blaine stopped.

His eyes narrowed.

Something was wrong.

Then—

He saw it.

A crack.

Not in the ground.

Not in a wall.

In the air.

A thin, black fracture.

Floating.

Distorting everything around it.

The space near it twisted—

Like reality was breaking apart.

The system reacted instantly.

[Unknown Phenomenon Detected]

[Analysis… Failed]

"…"

Even the system couldn't understand it.

Good.

That made it interesting.

Blaine stepped closer.

The closer he got—

The heavier the pressure became.

His instincts screamed.

Danger.

Extreme danger.

But he didn't stop.

Because this—

Was exactly what he was looking for.

The crack expanded slightly.

Widening.

Growing unstable.

Then—

A hand emerged.

Not human.

Long.

Dark.

Covered in rough, uneven skin.

Clawed.

"…"

Blaine didn't move.

Didn't react.

He watched.

The hand gripped the edge of the crack—

And pulled.

Slowly.

Forcing something through.

Then—

A creature stepped out.

Tall.

Thin.

Its body looked… incomplete.

Like it didn't fully belong in this world.

Its eyes—

Glowed faintly.

Not with rage.

But awareness.

Above its head—

[Strength: ???]

Silence.

So this again.

Something beyond the system.

The creature looked around.

Then—

Its gaze landed on Blaine.

A pause.

Then—

It smiled.

"…you."

Its voice—

Distorted.

Unnatural.

"…"

Blaine stepped forward.

No hesitation.

No fear.

Because now—

He understood.

This—

Was a gate.

A connection.

To another place.

Another world.

The creature tilted its head.

"…you don't belong here either."

"…"

Blaine didn't answer.

Because it was wrong.

Or maybe—

It wasn't.

The creature moved.

Instantly.

Too fast.

BANG.

Blaine blocked.

Barely.

The impact—

Heavy.

Even at 210 strength—

He felt it.

Good.

Very good.

The creature attacked again.

Sharp.

Precise.

Unpredictable.

Not like monsters.

Not like humans.

Something else.

Blaine activated Instinct Flow.

The world slowed.

But the creature—

Still moved smoothly.

Adapting.

Understanding.

"…"

This was different.

Completely different.

The fight escalated.

Fast.

Violent.

Every clash—

Shaking the air.

But neither gained the advantage.

Then—

Suddenly—

The crack behind the creature trembled.

Violently.

Unstable.

The creature paused.

Annoyed.

"…not yet."

It stepped back.

Slowly.

Its eyes never leaving Blaine.

"…grow stronger."

A faint smile.

"…then come through."

Silence.

Then—

It stepped backward.

And disappeared into the crack.

The fracture shrank.

Closing.

Sealing itself.

Until nothing remained.

Silence returned.

Heavy.

Uncertain.

"…"

Blaine stood still.

Thinking.

Analyzing.

Gates.

Other worlds.

Stronger enemies.

Everything—

Was real.

And more importantly—

Waiting.

A faint smile appeared.

Because now—

He had found the next step.

Not just this city.

Not just this world.

But beyond.

Blaine turned.

Walking deeper into Sector 9.

Because now—

He wasn't just getting stronger.

He was getting closer.

To something far greater.
