Chapter 7
"Boss, here is the transfer contract. Once you sign it, you will officially control the entire Royalist Group." Sophia said, handing over the documents to Alex.
Though being trained professionally, she didn't show it but she was both curious and surprised, as this new boss was far too young.
Not only did he drive a fifty-million-dollar Pagani, he had also just acquired an eighty-billion-dollar conglomerate; the sheer scale of his achievement at a young age was too overwhelming for her.
More importantly, he was handsome as well, with his voice being calm and confident, an absolutely lethal combination for any woman.
Just one look from him was enough to make anyone's cheeks flush slightly; while waiting at a red light, Alex signed the contract with a smile.
Sophia secretly admired how he was too casual about this, it seemed the new boss was truly a mysterious character.
On the other hand, even though Alex's hand shook slightly while signing — after all, putting his name meant he was now worth tens of billions — it still felt like a dream.
"Tell me about the current situation of the group," Alex said, suppressing his inner excitement.
Sophia began reporting professionally and clearly.
The Royalist Group was primarily focused on real estate, with investments spread across the entire city and even beyond. Commercial housing, shopping malls, office buildings — they had a stake in almost everything.
Current market value: 180 billion dollars.
Liquid assets on the books: 50 billion dollars.
After listening to the report, Alex could barely stop himself from laughing out loud with joy.
"Boss, do you need funds transferred? I can arrange it immediately," Sophia offered smartly.
"Hmm.. How about putting a small portion into my personal account, first." Though Alex felt the need to see all of the available amount, he wasn't stupid enough to ask for all fifty billion at once.
What if the company suddenly needed cash flow?
After receiving his account details, Sophia made a quick call. Less than ten minutes later, his mobile rang with a notification and one billion dollars had been deposited into his account.
A full billion dollars, something most people could never earn in several lifetimes, had appeared in his account with zero effort.
Seeing that Alex stayed silent for a long time, Sophia grew a little nervous, thinking she might have done something wrong.
"Sir, is the amount too little?" she asked cautiously.
"Huh? No, no, it's just enough!" Alex laughed heartily, "You don't need to worry."
He released the brake, and the fiery red Pagani surged forward powerfully; every other car on the road, whether ordinary or luxury was left eating its dust.
"Boss… slow down… please slow down, my head hurts…" Sophia frowned slightly, letting out a soft, uncomfortable moan; the sudden acceleration had triggered her chronic migraines, as someone handling all of the finance of such a large company, she worked extremely long hours with almost no rest.
"Sorry about that," Alex said immediately, easing off the accelerator and returning to a normal speed; feeling the car stabilize, Sophia breathed a sigh of relief.
suddenly a strange, warm light appeared in her beautiful eyes, as she hadn't expected the young boss to be so considerate and respectful toward her request.
It was the first time she had felt such care from a man worth tens of billions; as she knew this kind of thoughtfulness came from genuine inner character, it couldn't be faked.
This new boss was truly special.
"Boss, would you like to visit the company headquarters now?"
"That's not a good idea, for now I think the place we need to visit first is the shopping district." Alex replied, one thing he knew was the fact that the clothes he wore would make his first impression going forward and moreover with one billion dollars in his account, how could he not spend some?
Soon, they arrived at Luxe City — the city's premier luxury shopping district, where all the top international brands gathered. Only the truly wealthy came here to enjoy their status and superiority.
"Sophia, how about helping me choose some clothes. Casual or business, whatever feels right. Don't worry about the price, just buy what looks good," Alex said, casually tossing his black card to Sophia.
He then wandered around the mall with his hands in his pockets, letting her handle the shopping; looking at the extravagant stores, the well-dressed crowd, and the luxurious décor, Alex smiled to himself.
In the past, he would never have dared step foot in a place like this, but now, he felt like a king.
"Huh? Isn't that Alex? What are you doing here?"
Just as he was savoring that feeling of absolute control, an annoying voice interrupted him; a man in a sharp suit walked over, arm-in-arm with a scantily dressed woman.
"Hudson?" Alex recognized him instantly.
Hudson had been his high school classmate, the typical bully who loved picking on straight-A students like Alex.
Seeing him again instantly brought back unpleasant memories; still, high school was years ago. Alex wasn't the type to hold grudges over old schoolyard nonsense.
"It's been eight years! You look in great shape now. What kind of job do you do these days?" Hudson asked, his suit perfectly pressed and his hair styled neatly.
The woman beside him was clearly mesmerized by Alex's looks at first glance, but she quickly hid her reaction.
"Me? Just a regular clerk. Nothing worth mentioning," Alex replied calmly.
Hearing that, Hudson's smile grew much brighter. He looked Alex up and down with obvious satisfaction.
Back in high school, this guy had been the top student, the pride of the class and now? this punk was just a lowly clerk, while he himself earned a solid six-figure salary every year and had a hot woman on his arm.
How could this loser ever compare to him?
