After some half an hour, he finally rewrote again.
"Finally done."
Andrew threw the pen onto the desk as if relieved of a great burden and turned to show it to Scarlett.
Unexpectedly, Scarlett had already fallen asleep.
"Scarlett?"
"Scarlett?"
"Devil Scarlett?"
Andrew tried calling out a few times, but there was no response. He confirmed that Scarlett was fast asleep.
It wasn't surprising. She had been tired from the two-day business trip, plus that activity they both do together; she must be exhausted.
Seeing her falling asleep, he climbed on the bed, after putting the self-criticism note. And took her in his arms, before putting the quilt on his.
"Although she is beautiful, tender and gentle one moment. But another moment she is the devil. She can't set the grudges aside, even what happened between us."
Looking at Scarlett in his arms, who resembled Sleeping Beauty, Andrew took a deep breath, "I can't imagine how she just in a few seconds turned from angel to devil."
"She's really so beautiful." Andrew let out an exclamation.
But after what happened, he also realized that Scarlett was only cold and strong on the surface; deep down, she was still a girl who needed care.
And he will properly care for her, even if she is a little bit cold and aloof. "Perhaps Scarlett experienced something that made her maintain this aloof demeanor, deliberately preventing others from getting close?"
---
The next morning, when Scarlett woke up, she saw Andrew was still lying beside her, while his arms were holding her.
Because Andrew had slept all day yesterday, and then the night activities, he must be tired and falls asleep nearly at morning.
Scarlett looked at Andrew sleeping soundly, and the corner of her mouth curved slightly.
"Hmph, he actually called me Devil directly while I was sleeping last night. Don't think I didn't hear it."
Scarlett wasn't pretending to sleep last night. She had just entered sleep and wasn't deeply asleep, vaguely sensing the movement, but she was too tired to open her eyes.
She naturally knew that Andrew had completed the self-criticism letter, and then held her in his arms while complaining about her, calling her devil, he has fallen asleep.
She had also heard Andrew complimenting her beauty.
Scarlett smiled and gently rubbed Andrew's mouth, "Although you called me Devil, but considering you complimented my beauty, and since you are my boyfriend now, I won't pursue the matter."
After washing up, Scarlett ate breakfast while reading the self-criticism Andrew had written.
The handwriting was relatively neat, but it was all cursive, which made it a bit tiring for Scarlett to read. It was also evident that Andrew hadn't put much effort into writing this self-criticism.
A few sentences made Scarlett unable to suppress a smile.
Especially the last sentence, which truly made Scarlett laugh out loud.
["I guarantee that in the future I will resolutely obey the instructions and orders of Professor Scarlett, without the slightest objection. If I ever offend again, I will accept any punishment."]
"This guy, writing my words like a military order, as if I'll have him executed if he doesn't listen."
After finishing the self-criticism, Scarlett smiled and turned to look at Andrew: "But this is what you said yourself. I will save this self-criticism together with the 'Last Will and Testament' you wrote last time."
—
Andrew outwardly agreed emphatically, but he had completely forgotten what he had written in his self-criticism essay the night before.
"Who cares? Scarlett will probably forget about it herself in a few days. At worst, I'll just write another self-criticism next time."
After finishing breakfast, Andrew slowly arrived at Scarlett's office and opened the door.
Although he had been here a few times, this was the first time he was alone.
Inside, there were two desks. One belonged to their Counselor, Suzanne, and the one further in belonged to Scarlett.
The space here was also quite small, making it seem a bit cramped.
Andrew surveyed the room and immediately realized this was originally a private office for school administrators, but due to the school's age and insufficient room resources, it had been converted into a two-person office.
Sitting in Scarlett's seat, Andrew felt incomparably relaxed. If a student were standing in front of him right now, he felt he could exert a sense of oppression without saying a word.
"That old hag from high school always liked to sit like this when criticizing people. This feeling is actually awesome."
After experiencing the thrill of being a teacher, Andrew took out Scarlett's pink bolster pillow from the drawer.
It felt incredibly soft to the touch and carried a familiar fragrance.
Andrew leaned in and took a sniff; it was indeed the exact same scent as Professor Scarlett's.
"This pillow is both fragrant and soft. Could it be that the pillow I slept on when I was drunk last time was this one?"
Andrew recalled the time he got drunk and dreamed of leaning on a pillow. The feeling was so real that he always felt it wasn't just a dream.
As he thought, Andrew buried his head directly into the pillow.
Ah~~~ So comfortable~~~
"Although it's very comfortable, it still feels like something is missing. What exactly was I leaning on that night?"
Andrew couldn't figure out what he had actually slept on that night. It was like a pillow, but it didn't feel quite the same, because the pillow wasn't *that* comfortable.
Andrew lay on the bolster, lost in thought, and before long, drowsiness swept over him, causing him to drift off vaguely.
But this time his sleep wasn't deep. Upon hearing the sound of the door opening, he assumed Scarlett had returned after class. He opened his eyes and looked up, only to be surprised that it was Suzanne who walked in.
The two stared wide-eyed at each other, both looking stunned.
Andrew was the first to snap back to reality and greeted Suzanne, "Hello, Counselor."
"What are you doing here? Didn't you take leave because you weren't feeling well?"
Suzanne looked at Andrew doubtfully. She had received a message that morning that Scarlett had requested leave on Andrew's behalf.
"Uh... this..."
Just as Andrew was thinking about how to cover up, Suzanne answered herself, "Did you run into Professor Scarlett this morning? She saw you weren't feeling well and let you rest in her office, especially since you don't live on campus."
"Ah, yes, yes, yes."
Andrew nodded repeatedly. Whatever Suzanne said now, he agreed.
Suzanne sat down at her desk, turned her chair around, and started chatting with Andrew: "By the way, is your mother Professor Scarlett's former advisor? Sister Scar only recently told me."
"Yeah, she is."
Andrew nodded. He only knew his mother was Scarlett's advisor; he didn't know much else.
But upon hearing this, Suzanne assumed Andrew and Scarlett must be very close.
"Then do you know if Professor Scarlett has secretly started dating someone recently?"
"Huh???" Andrew became a little shocked and suspicious, because only the previous night he confirmed his relationship with Scarlett, show she would know about this.
Suzanne thought Andrew was afraid Professor Scarlett would find out and assured him, "Don't worry, I definitely won't tell her. Just tell me."
"Professor Scarlett probably isn't dating anyone," Andrew said, even though it was the biggest achievement of his life, he didn't want to announce it to the whole world.
"That shouldn't be right. Could the question she asked me last time really have been for a friend of hers?"
Suzanne muttered to herself, leaving Andrew completely bewildered, not knowing what she was talking about.
Just as she was about to ask Andrew again, Scarlett returned to the office after class ended and saw the scene.
At first glance, Scarlett was puzzled why Suzanne was there.
A second look: That's not right!
Scarlett's pupils suddenly contracted, and she immediately realized something was wrong, "Damn it! This is bad!"
Before Suzanne could even greet Scarlett, she was immediately reprimanded, "You stay here! I have something else to do!"
Then she immediately turned to the dumbfounded Andrew and said loudly, "You, come out with me!"
"Oh... oh."
Both of them were stunned. Seeing Scarlett's serious expression, they thought something serious had happened and both nodded without objection.
Andrew followed Scarlett downstairs. Halfway down, Scarlett saw no one around, immediately turned around, and stared at Andrew, "What did you and Suzanne talk about? Quick, tell me! Did you revealed our secret!"
"No… No… I didn't reveal anything..."
Andrew was so startled by the sudden interrogation that he stammered.
However, Scarlett didn't believe Andrew's answer. Staring intently, she pressed forward step by step, cornering Andrew against the wall.
"Impossible. How could you two not have said a single word? When I came in, I saw Suzanne was just about to ask you something. Tell me quickly what you both said, word for word."
"I'll tell you, I'll tell you."
Andrew, pressed against the wall like a startled hamster, dared not move as he recounted his conversation with Suzanne verbatim.
"Just that?"
"Mhm, I told you everything."
Andrew had confessed everything, but Scarlett still didn't seem ready to let him go. She moved closer and closer, her chest pressing against Andrew's body, their lips only a fraction of an inch apart.
Feeling the soft pressure against her chest and the faint warm breath Scarlett exhaled, Andrew was both aroused and tense. He didn't knows, should have taken advantage of this scenario, but looking at her look, he didn't dare to do it for now.
Even knowing that, if he moved even slightly, he would touch Scarlett's delicate lips.
Should I taste Scarlett's lips? No, no, this is not the right time?"
A desire awoken inside Andrew's mind, but he immediately suppressed it.
Scarlett stared for a few more seconds, confirmed Andrew wasn't lying, then took a step back and let out a long sigh herself, "That's good. Don't dare to reveal anything about us."
She had been afraid that the simple-minded Andrew would tell Suzanne everything, including the fact that they cooked the rice together. (It means sex.)
Seeing her getting relieved, Andrew nodded that he will not tell anyone about what happened between them.
"Good boy, now you go eat by yourself. I won't be eating with you at noon today." Scarlett said while caressing his cheek while feeling a little proud, that how easily he agreed with her words. He was just like an obedient puppy.
Andrew nodded, while deciding in his mind, he will plough her so hard today, that she will not be able to properly walk.
After walking only a few steps, Scarlett hurriedly called out to him again, "If Suzanne asks you where you're going later, just say you weren't feeling well and went back to rest."
"Why? Isn't lying to the Counselor a bad thing?"
"Just do as I was told, and what are you afraid of? I'm here."
"Oh."
With Scarlett around, there really wasn't much to be afraid of, except for her.
After separating, Scarlett returned to the office. Seeing that Andrew hadn't returned, Suzanne asked Scarlett, "Where is Andrew?"
"He wasn't feeling well and went back."
Suzanne nodded slowly, not suspecting much, and just said lightly, "Sister Scar, I noticed you seem quite concerned about Andrew."
"He is my advisor's son. Isn't it normal for me to care a little more?"
