Chapter 521 - Chapter 508 Dark Trooper Interlude

**Chapter 508**

**Project Dark Omen**

**Zule POV**

**Aboard the Gray Wolf – Two Days After the Valahari Skirmish**

Two days had passed since the fierce but one-sided battle in Valahari orbit. The Chancellor had personally congratulated Dagon and the task force for their swift action, and as a show of support, the Republic had dispatched nine additional Venators along with three respected Jedi aces from the Temple to bolster our efforts. The situation in the sector was stabilizing, but the tension with Valahari still lingered like a storm cloud on the horizon.

I found Dagon exactly where I expected him to be — in his private command office, buried in work. The lights were dimmed, and holographic displays floated around his desk like obedient ghosts. He looked focused, but I could sense the fatigue through our bond.

Without saying a word, I walked around his desk and slid smoothly onto his lap, straddling him. My arms draped over his shoulders as I settled against his chest.

Dagon blinked, looking up from his datapad with a mix of surprise and amusement. "Zule… not that I mind, but doing this at the work desk is a little bold, even for you."

I smiled innocently, pressing closer. "Hehe. I wanted to see what exactly you've been working on so obsessively. We're still generals and commanders in this army. Aside from Shin and Erictia, who have their own clone forces to manage, the rest of us need to understand our troops too."

Dagon set the datapad aside and wrapped his arms around my waist, one flesh and one black-armored. "Fair enough."

He tapped a command on the desk, and a new hologram sprang to life — a sleek, menacing set of armor rotating slowly in the air. It was black as midnight, with ominous crimson accents and a helmet that looked both futuristic and terrifying.

"Say hello to the next generation," Dagon said proudly. "I call it Project Dark Omen."

I raised an eyebrow. "Do you always have to use dark and dramatic names for everything?"

"It sounds cool," he replied with a grin. "And I did name one of the Resurgent-class *Blossom* just to appease you girls' wishes."

"Fine," I laughed softly. "What does it have?"

Dagon's expression turned serious as he began explaining. "The troopers will be equipped with advanced armor considered a significant improvement over the standard clone trooper kit. The helmet features a full suite of advanced sensors and targeting systems for total situational awareness — Neuro-Saav macromotion monitors, multi-frequency targeting arrays, and image-intensifying active pulse emitters. The armor is covered in a spray polymer called reflec, which warps electromagnetic signals from most sensor arrays. This makes them extremely effective for stealth operations."

He rotated the hologram, highlighting the chest piece. "Underneath is an environmentally sealed bodysuit. The right pauldron denotes rank for specialists. They'll carry an IM-40 three-slot ammunition and tool pouch. Primary weapons include the SE-14r light repeating blaster, E-11D blaster carbine, DLT-19D heavy blaster rifle, and Smart Rockets. Grenades will include C-25 fragmentation, baradium thermal detonators, sonic imploders, and thermal imploders."

I traced a finger along the holographic chest plate. "That's… impressive. Almost intimidating."

"I'm planning to pitch this to the Republic R&D department as a potential replacement for the standard clone trooper armor," Dagon continued. "If they reject it, I'll just hand the design over to Sienar and upgrade the remainder of the Mern 13 and 12th Sector forces myself."

I leaned in closer, resting my forehead against his. "You really do think of everything, don't you?"

His arms tightened around me. "I try. For all of you."

The hologram faded as I cupped his face with both hands. "Right now, I don't want to talk about armor anymore."

Our lips met in a slow, deep kiss. What started gentle quickly grew heated. Dagon's flesh hand slid up my back, pulling me tighter against him, while his armored hand rested possessively on my hip. I melted into the kiss, my fingers threading through his hair as our tongues danced together.

He tasted like warmth and strength, like safety and fire all at once. I moaned softly into his mouth as he tilted his head, deepening the kiss even further. The bond between us flared brightly, emotions and sensations flowing freely — love, desire, protectiveness, and a fierce devotion that made my heart ache in the best way.

We broke apart for air, foreheads still pressed together, breathing ragged.

"I love you," I whispered against his lips. "So much it scares me sometimes."

Dagon's eyes — one normal, one with that striking red star — softened. "I love you too, Zule. All of you. You keep me human in a galaxy that keeps trying to turn me into something else."

I kissed him again, slower this time, savoring every second. His hands roamed gently over my back and sides, never demanding, always reverent. We stayed like that for a long while — kissing, touching, simply being close — letting the rest of the war wait outside the door.

For now, in this quiet moment, the galaxy was just the two of us.
