Hours later, Sho stepped out of the hut, holding in his hand layers of trash he had picked from inside the shelter he was supposed to stay in.
From where he stood, he could see two devils standing at a far distance, keeping an eye on him in case he was going to try and escape.
Looking at them, all he could do was sigh.
'They've been watching me since yesterday. Don't tell me they're taking shifts?'
[Affirmative. They are.]
Sho threw on a deadpan look.
Their dedication was truly commendable.
Anyways, there was no point in him dwelling on that, since there was something else that needed his attention far more.
He moved forward a bit and carefully dumped the dirt right at the edge of a bush.
Then, he walked back into the hut, all the way in.
Upon getting inside, the first thing he was greeted with was the empty and now clean hut, far different from what it looked like when he was first offered the place to sleep in.
With his hands on his hips, a smile showed on his face, proud he was able to accomplish this in just one morning.
'Now this is a much better place to stay in.'
The hut was small with no door, and as such, he had to endure the steaming rays of the sun seeping into the place.
Either way, it was far better than the filth it was before.
Once content, Sho sat down on the ground, resting his back against the wall with his legs crossed and his arms folded.
Then he spoke.
"Cella, are you done?"
[Are you referring to the cure for the devil queen? Or the understanding of the abilities you possess?]
Sho was silent for a while.
On one hand, if he understood his powers well and saw a means to use them to their full capabilities, then he could escape from this place.
But that thought was flawed by a lot.
Even if he escaped from the forest, there were so many things he did not know about, and there was no guarantee the outside world would be any more forgiving.
Then there was the latter option.
He could help the devil queen solve her little issue, and then gain their trust from there.
This could let him not only acquire more knowledge on the world, but also use them as a means of protection if needed.
It was genius.
Sho smiled proudly, nodding his head at the idea.
'Yep, let's go with that first. If it's a sickness, it has to have a cure. Cella, tell me everything you know about the illness.'
[There is not much research other than what you already know. However, there are multiple theories as to how the issue itself can be solved temporarily. A permanent fix would require more research.]
'Let me hear it.'
[The main source of the illness is the inability to expend the constant mana growing inside of her. The best possible solution would be to find a medium where the mana can be expelled and then reused in due time.]
Sho's eyes widened a bit.
'Are you saying--'
But then it hit him.
Tilting his head to the side with his eyes closed nervously, the weight of the challenge settled in.
'That is easier said than done. If this was the real world, I would have built a machine to help, but in this world, technology is far behind.'
[May I suggest using your skill, God of Creation.]
Sho's eyes widened once again.
That single suggestion alone was enough to change everything. And here he thought he could leave learning his abilities behind for the chance to find a cure.
'Perfect.'
Following that, days passed, and the idea the system gave him was simply too good for him to pass on.
Thus, he made sure to go along with it as best as he could.
First, he spent hours using [God of Information] to learn everything he could about mana overclocking and mana flow in the body. This was the best way he could maximize his final move.
This method was easy, until he realized how deep of a hole he had to get just to get some meaning information.
Then, with the help of [God of Wisdom], he perfectly understood the concept of the topic, far more deeply than anyone who had studied it for a hundred years ever could.
Because he was not of this world, he could easily see things from a different angle. As such, he could devise a solution most people would overlook entirely.
With all of this done, he finally got his shot at using the God of Creation.
And this was how he simply crafted the single cure that generations upon generations had failed to produce.
...
Inside the queen's chamber.
"My lady, it has been three days. Do you still wish to keep that human alive?" asked one of the devils, kneeling before the throne.
The throne was not extravagant, as it was made of hay and wood, but it still served as a place their leader could sit on.
Seated on that very throne, the devil queen leaned to the right, her jaw resting on her fist while staring outside the hut.
About four devils were present in the room with her, and yet, not a single one of them seemed to grab her attention.
After all, her mind was still drifting toward that man.
"That human..." she spoke calmly, slowly turning her gaze toward the devil before her. "What did he call my illness again?"
The devil hesitated to answer.
"I believe he called it mana overclocking, my lady."
"I see..."
Mana overclocking was something the demon race had suffered from for years, and all those times, everyone had considered it to be a curse of some kind.
They had called it many names throughout the ages.
But not once did anyone refer to it as mana overclocking, as that term itself was still something entirely unknown to them.
"What is mana overclocking?"
There was hesitation from all the devils seated in the room. Not a single one of them knew what it meant.
The devil queen, clearly not impressed, sighed and then shifted her seating position.
"A human waltzes in here and tells you the name of an illness he somehow knew I had. And you, my council, know not the name, just as I do not. Would it not be wise to see what else we can learn from him before we kill him?"
"My lady, it could simply be a made-up word," a devil from the side interrupted.
The queen turned her gaze toward him.
"Perhaps. If that is the case, we will find out pretty soon, will we not, human?"
Upon saying those words, her gaze moved toward the entrance of the hut, where two devils had arrived to deliver Sho.
