Chapter 5 - Half the truth

Her grandma looked at her in confusion.

"Married?" Her grandma repeated

"Yes." Lita answered

"When did you meet him? How long have you been dating" The older lady asked

"We've been dating for a while now" Lita answered.

"Is....is he a good man?" The curious Grandma asked again.

Lita paused.

Taking a moment to look at the Old lady's hands.

Lita didn't know how to answer, He is or at least that what she would have to say.

He didn't bully her or maybe just hasn't began to.

This is a man she just met see hours ago.

"He....he is" Lita replied.

It wasn't a lie or at least it was half the truth.

The frail old woman look at her granddaughter with joy.

"That's good that's good cause your happiness comes first" The old lady added.

"It's in 2 weeks grandma" Lita stated with a forced smile.

The hall was quiet on her way back like the whole world disappeared.

Her heart pounded in her chest like she had just returned from a death race.

Her fingers twitched.

Her head suddenly replayed the look on Mrs Graves face.

She sighed heavily before opening the hospital door.

The sound of honking cars and a baby crying just a few steps away from her was all she could hear.

She got home tired like she bears the weight of the world on her chest.

*ring ring*

Her phone buzzed in her bag.

"Hey" Lita started after seeing the name.

It was her best friend and only friend.

"How are you doing? I've been trying to reach you" Her best friend questioned on the other end of the phone.

"Uhm, I was busy" Lita answered

"And I'm getting married in 2weeks time" Lita added.

"Married!" Her best friend shouted from the other end.

"When? How? Why am I just hearing this?" Amber questioned.

"I'll explain when we meet play?" Lita spoke softly before saying her good night and ending the call.

She threw her head backwards on the couch staring at the ceiling for a few minute.

Half the truth can't be called a lie.

Or can it.

Lita thought to herself as she pondered on it.

The night quickly turned to day.

Chirping birds singing their good morning.

Trees dancing.

The sound of her alarm buzzed loudly in her ears.

Lita dragged herself to her feet as she headed to the bathroom.

Undressing herself.

Her curved waist looked divine.

Her boobs were medium in size but still pleasing to the eyes.

She stepped into the shower as the water flowed from her head to her feet.

She stepped out of the shower.

Heading straight to the toilet sink.

She took her brush then the paste.

As she looked at herself in the mirror.

She felt she looked pale.

Maybe because she spent the night trying to imagine what she was going to face at the party.

Her dark circles seemed darker than usual.

Her face seemed paler.

She rinsed her brush.

Her mouth.

Then headed to her wardrobe.

Her wardrobe was pretty ordinary.

No fancy clothes.

Assecories.

Or unnecessary things.

Just her usual gowns and tops.

She picked a black shirt and a navy blue jean skirt.

Encouraged herself in the mirror.

Preparing herself for whatever the day planned to throw her way either for good or for worse.
