Chapter 13 - ch 13

The clash of Sakazuki's fist against Kageki's caused an explosion of clashing Haki, the vibrations of which reverberated throughout the entire town. Though Sakazuki felt that they were even, or that he may even have had a slight edge with regards to Haki, he felt an intense strain throughout his body with every hit that the general from the land of Flowers delivered. Whatever technique he was using to cause the extra vibrations that coursed throughout each of his blows was giving him the advantage, and Sakazuki was thankful that Mayando was able to hold his own against the other members of the invading force.

"Hydro Ripple!" The fishman navigator shouted as dozens of water droplets rose into the air in front of him before a flick of his wrist shot them like bullets toward the other armored fighters behind Kageki, knocking several of them off of their feet and piercing through their armor.

"Seems like he's the one I should be worried about," Kageki said as he looked over toward Mayando as Sakazuki's arm shook under the effort of the clash.

Feeling himself being pushed back and noticing the troops that were breaking through Mayando's attacks pushed him to attempt to draw on his Conqueror's Haki, widening his eyes and staring intently in the eyes of his opponent. While the lesser opponents he had fought off of Spider Miles were easily knocked out by even the slightest release of Supreme King Haki, he gritted his teeth as the general was clearly not nearly as affected. However, the strength of the punch currently clashing with Sakazuki's was clearly wavering in strength as he fought against the effects, and the young pirate took the opportunity to deliver a counterattack toward his opponent's rib cage.

"Piston Spear!" He shouted as he coated his free fist in a thick layer of Armament Haki before cracking into Kageki's plate mail.

The sound of his strike was so loud that it could clearly be heard over the active destruction of Drum Island, and Kageki was launched like a bullet into the nearest stone wall. His massive body crashing into it caused a humongous crack to rise up the wall of a nearby mountain, and the general huffed in frustration as he dropped onto his feet from the crater that his body had just created.

"I don't have time to deal with this," he grumbled as he placed his hands out in front of him with the palms facing outward.

Before Sakazuki or Mayando could process his movements, the massive man rocketed toward them with blinding speed. In an instant, he covered the 50 feet that he had been flung, arriving inches in front of Sakazuki with his palms still extended. The young pirate couldn't even process how he should defend himself in the brief moment that the general stood still before him, but a resounding shout from the man blocked any potential train of thought that he could have had.

"Glass Heart!" He shouted as dozens of rapid palm strikes struck Sakazuki's chest.

The impact of the strikes on his skin were not painful at all, in fact he could barely feel them in comparison to his previous clash with the general. But as each strike continued to hit, he began shaking uncontrollably, and it felt as if there was a tornado inside of his body. Every organ felt as if it was being tightly grasped and released only for the same process to repeat over and over.

A splatter of blood shout out from his mouth as the final strike hit his sternum, and his defenseless state made it simple for the Kageki to deliver a Haki infused cross to Sakazuki's chin that sent him flying into the same wall that he had just knocked the general into.

"Sakazuki!" Mayando shouted as he attempted to fight off 4 soldiers that had broken through his attack.

Dozens of troops continued to disembark from the trio of ships that had arrived, and Mayando grunted in frustration as he saw some of them begin to move toward The Fancy. The burning town behind them, his injured crew mate, and the danger that the ship was in made Mayando's anxiety shoot through the roof. As the panic started to set in, he momentarily lost his focus, and that was all that was needed for one of the soldiers to violently bash his skull with a heavy metallic shield.

His balance instantly gone, the young Fishman fell backwards into the snow as random dark spots began to appear in his vision. The attempts to get to his feet were in vain as his wobbly limbs failed to cooperate, and he could feel his consciousness begin to fade as the pain in his head began to overwhelm his thoughts. The shadows of the soldiers that were now standing over him covered his view of the clear skies above, and he mentally cursed the men for stealing a pleasant final view from him.

However, while the soldiers were the final image that Mayando saw before he fell unconscious, he raised an eyebrow in confusion before passing out as their bodies seemed to become instantly coated in ice.
