Rocks began to pant slightly, the extensive amount of Armament Haki he had used since carving through the Germa army starting to wear on him a bit. Though as he looked down and saw that the kid was still breathing, he was at least happy to see that his effort seemed to have paid off. Before he could further assess the kid's condition though, the sounds of heavy footsteps and small trees toppling to the ground drew his attention away.
The rumors around the 4 blues about Germa 66 were mostly too inconsistent to be believable, but one name was consistent through these tales: Vinsmoke Magnus. The leader of the mobile nation was said to stand at a towering height, wields a pair of massive spears, and has a capacity for cruelty that even the World Government doesn't stoop to.
"You seem a little different than the other cockroaches attempting to raid the crumbs from the remnants of this city. I don't think any of them could make me feel their attacks, let alone send me flying like that," Magnus said as he stuck his left spear into the ground while holding the other at his side.
"Oh, I'm just passing through," Rocks said nonchalantly as he swung Eclipse up to rest on his shoulder. "But I need this kids help, so I can't have you stabbing him like that, unfortunately," Rocks said sarcastically as tension continued to fill the air. A small laugh left the massive man's lips, and he picked his left spear up to hold it at his side like the other.
"I don't care at all if that whelp dies. But I can't have anyone getting in my way, the North Blue is much too big to waste time on a speck like Spider Miles," Magnus said as he began to slowly walk toward Rocks.
As he approached, Rocks dragged the kid's unconscious body into a seated position against a nearby tree. After successfully ensuring that he was still breathing, Xebec turned his attention to his opponent as he channeled Haki into his blade.
Without warning, Magnus leaped into the air with surprising agility for such a large man, taking off from the ground in a spinning motion as if he was performing a mid air pirouette. Using the momentum of his spin as he fell toward the ground, his body began spinning violently, the pair of spears he had pointed toward Rocks mimicking a corkscrew almost exactly.
"Sparking Spiral!" Vinsmoke shouted as the pair of spears began spinning so violently that sparks began to shoot off of the tips.
Turning Eclipse to its flat side and firmly grasping the blade with both hands, he infused Haki into the blade as the pair of spears clashed against it. The explosion of power sent a booming gust of winds throughout the environment that surrounded them, the force of the clash snapping trees in half and causing the already wobbly structures of the town to crumble.
Rocks snarled in anger as he saw the destruction that their clash had caused, and he pushed himself farther than he normally would as he violently shoved his opponent off of him. With a grunt of surprise, Magnus skirted backwards, his heels digging tracks into the dirt due to the sheer force of Xebec's push.
Vinsmoke's eyes narrowed in anger, and he swung his arm violently, releasing his left spear with the tip aimed directly at Rocks' eye. Expecting the counter, he easily moved his head out of the way, the whoosh of the passing weapon tickling his ear. In the same motion, he quickly reached into the pouch on his belt and pulled out a small lead ball.
Before Magnus had any time to react, Rocks infused Haki into the projectile and tossed it in front of him. Before the round could float in the air for even a second, Xebec drew the flintlock from his hip and captured it within the chamber, pulling the trigger with a smile as the projectile rocketed through Vinsmoke's shoulder. The scream of pain that escaped from him echoed through the battlefield, and Rocks took the moment that his opponent took to grasp his shoulder in pain.
Without a word, he dashed over to the kid's unconscious body, hoisting him over his shoulder before sprinting in the direction of the ship. The small groan that came from him indicated that the chaos of the situation had manage to wake him up, but the following deep moans of pain were also an indicator of his unfortunate physical condition.
"Who…are you?" He asked as Rocks dashed through the burning remnants of the town.
"Your savior, kid. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth," he said as he dashed through the streets and caught sight of The Fancy in the distance. "You met my old friend Gil a while ago. He said to come check in on you, and that you might be able to help me out" Rocks said, with the white lie rolling off his lips easily.
"You know Gil?" He asked in a daze.
"He used to be on my crew, so I know that I can trust his opinion. What's your name kid?" Rocks asked as the pair managed to make their way out of entrance on the opposite side of town. A quick look behind him and a brief pulse of Observation Haki marked Magnus still at the battlefield that he had been left at, and he sighed in relief as they approached the ship.
"S…Sakazuki," he said weakly before passing out on Xebec's shoulder.
