Chapter 2 - Toji Fushiguro

A week has passed since Toji arrived in this world. Currently, Class C's mood was was at the moment bleak? No, that's not the word. Maybe it's afrightened by the defacto leader. It could also be because of the exam scores. Who knows. On the other hand, Kakeru Ryuen the leader of class C was standing informing the class of how they would fix these scores. Rumor already spread fast about his little escapade involving certain classmates and the handling of their outward opposition to his ways. This lead no-one stopping his idea of how to sucessfully work the exam out.

Now what does Toji Fushiguro think of this? Nothing. Nothing at all. He could care less. He just needed to complete his required assignement given by the immortal's demand of proceeding with the 3 years required so his child could live. What he did care about though, was the matter he hasn't done any academia in the matter of decades.

'To think I would go back to school. Beyond me. Once a monkey always a monkey.'

With the introduction that anyone who failed the next exam would be expelled, Toji realized he would need to study. Toji studying? He himself couldn't imagine that. His score wasn't horrible at all but it warranted him a reason to do something productive.

Ryuen's approach to the exam results? Doing nothing. Everyone was fending for themselves and that was self explanatory. Toji heard from other classes about doing study groups. Class A and C were the outlier's in this situation of which he didn't care about.

Instead of talking to his classmates, Toji ventured towards the library. Ryuen wouldn't stop him of course. He was the sole exception with the result of a little encounter he had earlier in the week with Ryuen and his gang.

Looking around for what he needed, Toji slipped a book under his arm and sat down with an bored aura surrounding him. With the inclusion of Fushiguro's heightened senses due to his HR, information processed faster. Skimming through the pages, Toji took notes.

Within a short amount of time, Toji stood up and looked behind him. A group of students were studying as with having a few faces he's seen before.

'Not these guys.'

Quickly without the hope of being noticed, Toji started to slip away but something stopped him as soon as he left the building.

He forgot his phone.

Toji walked back into the building, towards his study spot, slipping his phone into his back pocket. Noticing a pair of eyes on the back of his head, Toji turned and faced his head locating the source. A boy with brown hair and eyes of indifference. He looked disinterested with the rest of everyone else. Toji grinned to himself before it quickly turned to a frown when another pair of eyes landed on him.

'What was her name again? Ah whatever. Who cares.' She waved to Toji, before he simply started to leave speeding up with the subsequent noticing of him.

"Fushiguro!" Looking at his phone now, Toji reached the door and slipped through behind a person who just left.

*Crash* A simple small thud was heard after he exited the doors. It was a collision. More specifically, with a blonde haired girl and Toji. The girl fell but the man stood unaffected. Why? Simple really. The height and weight difference were too extreme.

"Watch your step!" Lashing out the girl yelled before looking up at Toji. Realizing the stature of Toji, her eyes widened in fear? No not fear, just realizing the presence of someone who was clearly dominating the current scenario leaving her quickly apologizing.

"Oh-h sorry." Kei spoke but there was no response. Toji looked down at her staring through her before walking off.

"Eh? Asshole." Whispering the blonde started to stand before looking behind her and glaring at the man who didn't help her up or apologize. Instead of confronting any further, she brushed herself off and entered the library.

The blonde saw her group of friends and waved at them. They waved back, calling her name.

"Kei! We were waiting for you!" A brown haired girl was the one talking. Sataou.

"Sorry, I ran into someone." Kei the blonde, looked frustrated but recomposed herself upon talking to her friends.

"Oh who!?"

"I don't know, I like actually ran into them. I fell."

"What!? Are you okay? Did they help you at least? Who was it?" The group started spitting questions, inspecting Kei. Satou the brown haired girl, the closest to Kei brushed dirt off her clothes.

"Yea, I am uh fine. They didn't help me though! I don't know his name. Tall kinda guy. Taller than Hirata, black hair uh green eyes? It was rude though! He should of helped me up!" The

"He sounds like an asshole! Let's look for him!" Sataou was the talkative friend of Kei.

"Before we think of doing that, shouldn't we wait for Hirata?" Matsushita the other girl of the group was less talkative but still listened nonethless wanting to know who caused her friend to fall.

"Speaking of Hirata, where is he?" Tilting her head and looking down at her phone, Kei looked at her friends.

'He should of been here, he messaged me.' Checking her phone, Kei viewed the messaged reconfirming what she saw.

"Oh, he just went to the bathroom. Let's tell him what happened when he comes back."

"Tell who what?" Speaking of the boy himself, he returned smiling and greeting Kei.

"Hey Hirata. Kei fell." Matsushita spoke briefly looking at her book before focusing for a moment.

"Oh you did? Are you alright? Do we need to go to the nurse?" Hirata showed concern, visually inspecting Kei.

"No-no I'll be fine. The guy I bumped into didn't help me up though! It's rude!"

"Oh, that is rude. He could of been on a run or something so let's not jump to conclusions. Do you know who did it?"

"No sadly I don't. Green eyes, taller than you, black hair."

"Oh, was he kind of muscular too? Quiet?"

"Yes! He was!"

"Oh, Fushiguro! He was a strange guy once I met him but he seemed alright. He could of just been in a rush?" Hirata seeing the good end of things, gave reason without being too defensive or offensive.

"Maybe but if you see him again can you talk to him? Please?" Kei pouted asking Hirata.

"Yea yea I can. You good to study now!?"

"Oh yea. Forgot about that."

Thus initiated another study group consisting of gossiping and Hirata trying to put everyone back onto track as they worked. In the sidelines, a brown eyed spectator overheard their conversation and thought to himself.

'Fushiguro? Looks suspicious.'

Fushiguro was chilling to say the least. Sitting on top of a rooftop bench, Toji dragged his cigarette. Regulary he wouldn't smoke for the benefit of suprise against sorcerer's but he concluded no-one here would be one. Research led to no sorcerer's being present as with his instinct's not detecting anything abnormal. The only closest thing to cursed energy was the time the immortal man went into his brain and told the consequences of failing. How his heavenly restriction still worked? He had no idea. His only guess was the idea that this world wasn't completely free of power or corruption on par with his old one.

With the sound of a door opening, Toji gave a sideye to the person whom also stepped onto the roof. It was one of his teachers. A women who he thought looked good enough but had a shitty attitude. Not like he was anything better.

"You shouldn't smoke, it'll kill you." Toji spoke, looking up at the sky. It was evening time. His sensei not detecting his presence right away, looked startled before taking a drag of her own cigarette.

"Fushiguro is it? You shouldn''t be up here. You're breaking many rules right now. Smoking. Being on the rooftop when it's only unlocked at lunch time. What else?" With the thought of intimidation, Toji didn't care.

"I don't think it matters sensei. We're both here to smoke some. Just wanted to make some small talk between monkey's." Standing up exhaling smoke, Toji stood up next to a fence looking at the city skyline.

"Monkey's?"

"People like us. Just do your job sensei. I don't want to see you getting fired. You're the best thing to look at in class."

Scoffing Chabashira-sensei, looked at Toji before waiting a moment to speak.

"I could have reprimanded you for hitting on me Fushiguro but I'm a kind woman. Your attempt at flattering is funny to see."

"Kind doesn't fit you. Flattery doesn't fit me either. I'll be sure to be more direct on the next time I feel like trying to sleep with you." Grinning, Fushiguro stomped on his cigarette flattening it completely. Ash simmered as it got destroyed.

"Aren't you a little too young to be saying that?"

Fushiguro grinned before laughing.

"Young? You make me laugh. Fushiguro wouldn't be my surname if I was young." Chabashira-sensei looked at him with a raised eyebrow, inspecting the man. On the surface he looked older than everyone else, but how old was he truly? No-one knew. Looking at the mans face, his face morphe dfor a split second, reminiscing about past times. She didn't say anything else taking a drag of her cigarette.

'Strange kid. Bad memories? I'll have to look at his file.'

"I'll see you in class, Chabashira. I'll be calling soon." With hands in his pocket, Toji passed Chabashira-sensei leaving her alone on top of the rooftop. His presence alone was hard to detect and his scent didn't smell like anything. Cigarettes leave a smell yet he had none. She scoffed looking at her phone notifications.

[Hoshinomiya: Drinks tonight!? ]

[Chabashira: Sure, let me just finish this cigarette]

[Hoshinomiya: You and your smoking habits! It'll kill you one day!]

 [Chabashira: Sure. Be 15]

Next chapter will be more plot focused. Just needed to get the characters down.
