Luciano stared at her in a daze and swallowed hard involuntarily.
Estrella quickly stood up and turned away to tie her bathrobe, her face turning red.
Luciano also looked in the opposite direction, clearing his throat.
The atmosphere became awkward.
Gosh, he had just seen her naked.
"Damn it," Estrella muttered. She looked up and saw Luciano deliberately looking away, and she couldn't help but feel annoyed.
Wasn't he the cause of it all? Why was he pretending to be innocent?
"Why are you looking away?"
Luciano turned back to face her. "You want me to look?"
His face twisted slightly in mock disgust. "I never knew you were that perverted."
Like seriously? Was he trying to turn the tables?
"Did you just call me perverted? Who got into my bed first?"
"It's my bed," Luciano corrected calmly.
Realising it really was his bed, Estrella felt a bit guilty.
But still—
"If you hadn't pulled me, my robe wouldn't have loosened to the extent that you would see me…"
She couldn't bring herself to complete the sentence.
She picked up a pillow and threw it at him in anger.
Luciano knew it was truly his fault, but when had anyone ever won against him in an argument?
"Stop acting so aggrieved. You also stared at me last night," Luciano sneered.
"Me? When?" Estrella quickly denied.
"After you washed up."
Estrella suddenly remembered. She had indeed stared at him.
"But it was only your chest!"
"You stood up quickly. I only saw your chest too," Luciano replied calmly.
Was he expecting her to wait longer?
Estrella couldn't continue the shameless conversation.
She stormed off to the bathroom, anger bubbling inside her.
Luciano watched her leave and shook his head.
"When has my morning ever been this chaotic?" he thought.
Ever since she stepped into his life.
He rubbed his temple and sat down on the couch.
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
Luciano stood up and opened it.
A maid stood outside and greeted him respectfully.
"The Chairman asked me to deliver clothes to the young mistress."
She wheeled in a trolley.
Luciano took it from her and closed the door.
He walked towards the bathroom. "Come out."
Estrella, who was about to put on her bathrobe, froze.
Was he serious? Did he want to see more?
"You pervert!" she screamed.
Luciano was stunned by her outburst.
"Your clothes are here."
What was she thinking?
Oh… it was for her to pick clothes.
Heat rushed to her face in embarrassment.
Estrella stepped out and was stunned to see a full trolley—
Clothes of different sizes, bags… all limited editions.
The rich are really extravagant.
She began selecting an outfit.
After choosing a dress, shoes, and a bag, she came across another section of the trolley—underwear.
She picked up a pair of G-string panties and held it up.
Luciano's face tightened.
What is this?
Unable to stand the sight, he walked into the bathroom to take his shower.
By the time he was done and returned, Estrella had already left.
He dressed up and went downstairs for breakfast.
By the time he entered the dining hall, Estrella and his grandfather were already there, chatting happily.
He took his seat opposite her and started eating.
"So rude, you can't even greet," Chairman Banks complained.
Luciano didn't respond. He simply continued eating.
Then he looked up.
His eyes fell on Estrella.
She was wearing a low-cut gown.
His gaze lingered on her chest, and he couldn't help but recall the moment she had fallen on him earlier.
Her smooth skin… the way her body had pressed against him.
Estrella suddenly caught his gaze.
What was this perverted man doing?
She hit her spoon against the plate loudly.
Both Luciano and Chairman Banks looked up.
Before she could say anything—
"I wasn't looking," Luciano said immediately.
"Who said you were?" Estrella shot back.
"Your expression says it all," he replied calmly—too calmly for someone guilty.
Estrella rolled her eyes and continued eating.
Chairman Banks looked between them in confusion.
What were they talking about?
When he couldn't figure it out, he simply shook his head.
These two… both had terrible tempers.
After breakfast, Luciano followed Chairman Banks to his study.
The moment they entered, Luciano spoke. "Your promise?"
"Why the rush? At least sit."
Chairman Banks sat down, and Luciano followed.
The old man brought out a property transfer document and pushed it toward him.
"This is everything I have."
Luciano picked it up and read through it, his eyes narrowing.
"I'm giving it all to you," Chairman Banks added.
"But?"
Luciano looked up. "What now?"
"You'll have to take Neil with you."
Luciano immediately understood.
Neil was his grandfather's right-hand man. This was a way to monitor his marriage.
Impossible.
"I refuse."
"Then I'll take back the inheritance."
Luciano glared at him. Was he trying to control him with money?
Before he could respond, Chairman Banks continued—
"Lothian orchestrated the car accident. He's trying to kill me so he can inherit everything. I never made a will… and he's next in line."
Luciano's fists clenched.
He never knew Lothian was this ruthless.
How could he try to kill his own father?
"You know that once you transfer everything to me, I'll become his next target. Why are you still playing games?"
"Because I want your marriage to work," Chairman Banks replied calmly.
"I want you to have someone who will stand by you for life. And from what I've seen… she's a good girl."
A good girl?
If only he knew she was only with him for money.
Still, Luciano picked up the pen and signed.
He had already failed to protect his father.
He wouldn't fail to protect his grandfather.
A satisfied smile formed on Chairman Banks' face.
