Chapter 34
"What is going down here?" his voice boomed, as he came down the stairs in a black shirt, the sleeves rolled up.
He looked like he just got back from work. I thought to myself as he walked towards me, a stubble slowly appearing on his face, my eyes running over his features obviously because he caught me causing me to look away.
"I was just introducing the Campbell family to your aunty and cousins." his mother said before one of his cousins could speak.
Matthew nodded before turning to my mother "My apologies for coming late Mrs Campbell" he paused "I had some things to attend to."
"Dinner should be ready now" his aunty said as she led us to the dining room, more like a dining hall, because just like the rest of the house the room was extravagant oozing both opulence and wealth.
Everyone went ahead, Matthew's mother leading the way, he stayed back stretching his hand to me. He noticed me hesitating to take his hand for a moment.
