Chapter 65 - Chapter 65: I Am Too Naive

The next day.

Deng Jian looked at Zhou Xing, standing in the shade of a tree in the distance.

Min Sishi walked up to Zhou Xing cheerfully, her delicate, fair hand handing over a cup of chilled milk tea.

Deng Jian was stunned, but the voices of others reached his ears: "Why is she here again?"

Deng Jian's heart stirred. He turned his head and asked, "Brother, what's going on here?"

The person said with some surprise, "You don't know? Don't you check the Campus Forum?"

"Brother, I really don't know about this."

Deng Jian smiled. "Brother, tell me more."

"Min Sishi. She's been the Campus Goddess for three consecutive years. Last time, she publicly pursued Zhou Xing but was rejected. Since then, she's been persistently bringing him milk tea."

The student shook his head and said, "She was here yesterday too. Didn't you notice?"

Deng Jian's expression held a hint of confusion.

What was he doing yesterday?

He seemed to have arrived just on time and started bragging and chatting with a group of people, not noticing Zhou Xing at all.

He watched Min Sishi's jubilant face after Zhou Xing took the milk tea.

His face turned pale.

Suddenly, he clutched his chest.

It felt like he had been stabbed.

So Min Sishi really was chasing Zhou Xing, and she had even been rejected by him.

After Zhou Xing denied it yesterday, he had felt much more balanced, thinking that Min Sishi was just teasing him.

As expected, the prettier a girl is, the better she is at lying.

He had even claimed that if he believed another word she said, he'd be a huge fool.

As it turned out... he really was a huge fool.

"Seriously... I'm too naive."

Deng Jian felt like bursting into tears. "Zhou Xing, you're really something. I should never have believed your nonsense."

"Hey brother, although Min Sishi is very beautiful, Zhou Xing isn't bad either."

The person next to him was startled by his reaction. "She's the one chasing Zhou Xing. There's no need for you to react so strongly, right?"

Deng Jian wanted to cry even more.

He remembered how, after leaving the cafeteria yesterday, he had boasted grandly in front of Zhou Xing.

He said he had seen through Min Sishi's lies long ago.

That he was just playing along.

That triumphant look of his, and Zhou Xing's meaningful gaze...

He didn't quite understand it before... but now his toes were curling in embarrassment.

"I'm so stupid."

Even though Deng Jian was a social butterfly, he found this kind of social death hard to accept... Under the shade of the tree.

Zhou Xing took a sip of the milk tea, then pulled out his phone and asked, "What's your WeChat?"

"Huh?"

Min Sishi said with some pleasant surprise, "Is it because I've brought milk tea for two days that I've finally moved you, so you want to add me?"

She didn't act coy and took out her phone.

Zhou Xing glanced at it.

It was a white phone.

It looked very old, and the model name had been worn away until it was illegible.

However, Min Sishi took good care of it; the phone looked clean and wasn't damaged.

Holding the phone, she wasn't embarrassed and opened WeChat openly.

It's just that the phone was a bit laggy.

It took a while for WeChat to load.

Min Sishi poked the screen with her slender fingers, then brought up her QR code and held it in front of Zhou Xing.

Zhou Xing didn't explain. He silently scanned the QR code and added her.

Min Sishi accepted the request quickly.

Ding-dong.

Min Sishi opened it expectantly, only to find it was a Red Envelope.

"What do you mean by this?"

The smile on Min Sishi's face faltered slightly.

"Nothing. I've had several cups of your milk tea; I can't let you pay for them."

Zhou Xing said indifferently, "I'm not in the habit of letting girls pay."

"Just take this Red Envelope for now."

Zhou Xing raised the milk tea in his hand. "Thanks for the milk tea, but don't bring any more. I don't really like sweet things. It's too hot, and there's no need for you to come here so early every day. After all, you have your own things to do."

"Oh..."

Min Sishi's beautiful eyes dimmed slightly as she muttered, "I thought you'd like this milk tea. I think it's quite delicious."

She swallowed, then looked up. "Okay, I got it."

With that, she lowered her head as if thinking about something and left... Noon.

Min Sishi stood before Zhou Xing with a smile like a blooming flower, holding half a watermelon and handing him a spoon.

Zhou Xing was stunned. "Why are you here again?"

"Huh?"

Min Sishi said in confusion, "Didn't you say you don't like milk tea? So I bought you half a watermelon. It's chilled... You just finished Military Training, so eating some will help you cool down."

"You don't dislike watermelon too, do you?"

Min Sishi's face scrunched up. "Then this is... too wasteful. How about you just have a few bites?"

Zhou Xing massaged his forehead helplessly.

Was that what he meant this morning?

He had made himself very clear and even sent a Red Envelope just so she wouldn't come again.

Zhou Xing looked at Min Sishi's blank little face.

He didn't know if she really didn't understand or if she was just playing dumb.

"How much was it? I'll transfer it to you."

Zhou Xing sighed and had no choice but to take the watermelon.

"Hehe, it wasn't much."

Seeing that Zhou Xing took the watermelon after all and it wouldn't go to waste, Min Sishi immediately became happy and skipped away with her hands behind her back.

She didn't give Zhou Xing a chance to say anything else.

Zhou Xing had no choice but to let her be... In the following Military Training.

Min Sishi appeared before Zhou Xing punctually every day.

Every now and then.

She would change things up, handing Zhou Xing all sorts of items under the envious gazes of everyone.

Fruit, drinks... Though they weren't expensive, the person giving them was the Campus Goddess, Min Sishi.

Deng Jian stood there with a look of resentment.

After so many days, almost all the New Students had come to know of Min Sishi.

Min Sishi's reputation on the Campus Forum gradually began to turn around.

After all... even if she were a gold digger, being able to persist for so long was no easy feat.

And Zhou Xing was indeed very attractive.

Many people even began to follow the situation closely, wondering what the final outcome would be.

Fifteen days of Military Training.

Passed in the blink of an eye.

When the Instructor announced the end of Military Training and that a party would be organized that evening, everyone erupted in excited cheers.

As the formation dismissed.

Zhou Xing turned to leave.

Unsurprisingly, Min Sishi held a bottle of mineral water and handed it to Zhou Xing.

Then, seeing Deng Jian standing nearby, she said somewhat apologetically, "Sorry, I forgot about you again."

"It's fine."

Deng Jian forced a smile; he was used to it, as Min Sishi had forgotten him for fifteen days straight.

Zhou Xing took the water and had a sip.

Then he glanced at Deng Jian and said, "Go back first today. I have something to take care of."

"Come with me for a moment."

After speaking to Min Sishi, Zhou Xing walked towards the parking area.
