Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: Is Being Handsome That Great?

Min Sishi... Zhou Xing couldn't help but sigh; the world really was small.

He had run into her again just around the corner.

Their first meeting was in the cafeteria, and now, they were in the cafeteria again.

"What are you doing here?"

Zhou Xing couldn't help but ask.

"I work here."

Min Sishi held a rice ladle in her hand. There wasn't a hint of embarrassment on her face from Zhou Xing seeing her working a part-time job; instead, she said with a calm expression, "I originally had a job at a milk tea shop, but there's been a lot of controversy surrounding me lately, so the owner told me to take a break."

Min Sishi said with some distress, "I had no choice but to find a job in the cafeteria first."

Zhou Xing remained silent.

He naturally knew what the controversy Min Sishi mentioned was about.

Strictly speaking, it had a lot to do with him.

"But it's fine. The work here only gets busy during meal times; it's quite relaxing the rest of the time. I have plenty of time to do other things."

Min Sishi giggled, seemingly indifferent. "Although the salary is a bit lower compared to the milk tea shop... I can make it back by teaching a few more dance classes."

"Do you want to try the dishes here? The taste is actually quite good, and I can secretly give you a bit more."

Min Sishi looked at Zhou Xing. "You're so tall, you really should eat more. You look a bit thin."

Zhou Xing's brow furrowed slightly.

He suddenly realized... he couldn't quite see through Min Sishi anymore.

He wasn't very familiar with the Min Sishi from his past life.

He had only heard a bit about her.

After all, when he first entered university, Min Sishi was already a junior and about to graduate.

His memory was a bit hazy.

He only remembered that throughout her four years of university, there was never any news of Min Sishi having a boyfriend.

Her personality was cold, making countless boys stay away in awe. Some even suggested she didn't like boys and was only interested in girls, causing many to lament.

So when Min Sishi came to him and took the initiative to suggest getting to know each other...

Zhou Xing's first reaction was surprise.

Then, he chose to refuse.

For one, he couldn't figure out what Min Sishi's intentions were, and Zhou Xing didn't have the time to get involved.

Secondly, Min Sishi was too unusual. There were too many discrepancies from his memory, and when things are out of the ordinary, there's bound to be something fishy.

He couldn't be bothered to get involved.

Min Sishi was certainly beautiful, but she wasn't the only beautiful girl.

Perhaps she really did have the gold-digging tendencies mentioned on the Campus Forum.

But if she really were a gold-digger...

How could she have gone through four years of university in her past life without ever having a boyfriend?

With her looks, finding a rich man would be incredibly simple.

There was absolutely no need to choose a part-time job in a place like the cafeteria.

Less than two thousand a month.

That wasn't even as much as other girls made from drinking a few glasses of wine.

Yet she had taken the initiative to come looking for him... acting as if she wouldn't stop until she achieved her goal.

Even after being rejected, she acted as if nothing had happened on the first day of military training, coming over with a bright smile to bring him milk tea.

Although he was good-looking, in this Hucheng Conservatory of Music where handsome men and beautiful women gathered, he wasn't narcissistic enough to believe she had fallen in love with him at first sight.

Zhou Xing rubbed his temples, completely unable to figure it out.

What on earth was this Min Sishi thinking... Why was it that she, who hadn't given any boy the time of day for four years in his past life, was so stubbornly set on him in this life?

"What are you guys chatting about?"

Deng Jian walked over carrying a tray and pointed at the dishes piled high on it. "Whoa... I've finished ordering my food, and you haven't even gotten a single thing yet."

He looked at Zhou Xing suspiciously, then glanced at Min Sishi at the window, and his eyes instantly widened.

No wonder... Zhou Xing hadn't moved for so long.

It turned out there was such a beautiful girl here.

"Did I come at a bad time?"

Deng Jian chuckled and gave Zhou Xing a series of meaningful winks.

"Hello."

Min Sishi waved at Deng Jian with poise. "Are you Zhou Xing's friend?"

"I guess you could say that."

Deng Jian scratched his head and looked at Zhou Xing with a bit of embarrassment. "At least I consider him my brother."

"Um... do you two know each other, or are you a couple?"

Deng Jian asked curiously.

Looking at the situation, it didn't seem like Zhou Xing had just met her and decided to stay and flirt.

"We're not a couple yet."

A faint blush couldn't help but appear on Min Sishi's face. "But... I will work hard to win Zhou Xing over!"

"What!"

Deng Jian's eyes nearly popped out of his head.

He almost doubted if he had heard correctly.

Looking at Min Sishi's face, which was as fresh as a lotus emerging from water, Deng Jian felt like he was about to grind his molars to dust.

It was completely different from what he had imagined.

He thought Zhou Xing was the one hitting on Min Sishi, but it turned out this beauty was chasing after Zhou Xing!

"Zhou Xing doesn't seem to like me very much. As his friend, could you help me talk to him? I'll treat you to a meal."

Min Sishi raised the ladle in her hand and looked at Deng Jian with an expectant face.

Deng Jian felt another stab to his heart.

He turned back to look at Zhou Xing in disbelief, his gaze seemingly saying: A beauty like this is chasing you, and you're actually rejecting her?

"Zhou Xing, you lucky bastard!"

Deng Jian squeezed the words out through gritted teeth.

He couldn't understand why Zhou Xing was so popular with girls as soon as he entered the campus.

While he... had specifically dyed his hair yellow.

In the end, from beginning to end, not many girls had paid him any attention, let alone taken the initiative to pursue him.

"Is being handsome that great?!"

Deng Jian looked at Zhou Xing's face and couldn't help but complain.

He turned his head just in time to see Min Sishi's eyes fixed on Zhou Xing, never having looked away from the start.

He immediately became dejected.

Being handsome really was that great!

"Don't listen to her nonsense."

Zhou Xing said, somewhat speechless, "Out of every ten words this person says, eleven are lies. You can't take her seriously."

"Huh?"

Deng Jian looked up, only to find Min Sishi giggling, her eyes curving into crescents as she watched Zhou Xing.

She neither refuted nor admitted it.

He also found it strange... who was telling the truth?

Min Sishi's words must be fake; they were probably just good friends, so she was joking like that.

Being pursued was impossible!

At this thought, Deng Jian became lively again, his spirits high as he regained his confidence.

"So what if he's handsome? He's still a single dog just like me."

Deng Jian hummed as he looked at Zhou Xing, feeling much more balanced in his heart.

"Let's go."

Zhou Xing carried his tray and passed by Min Sishi's window.

"Where to?"

Deng Jian didn't snap out of it for a moment.

"Where else? To eat, of course."

Facing Zhou Xing's gaze, which was like looking at a moron, even the socially adept Deng Jian couldn't help but lower his head in embarrassment.

"Bye-bye."

Min Sishi waved at them and then said to Deng Jian, "Remember to help me talk to Zhou Xing!"

"No problem."

Deng Jian agreed readily with a smile; did they really think he was a fool?

It was impossible to keep him in the dark any longer.
