Chapter 27 - Say It Outright.

In the morning, I bathed, dressed, and left for work as if the night before hadn't been pure chaos.

I hadn't slept even a single blink.

But somehow, I was fine. Completely fine. I felt normal, the same way I always did.

I forced myself through the day. Forced myself to teach, to listen to what I was saying, because I knew if I didn't, I would slip and say something that didn't make sense.

Every class I walked into, I got the same reaction. Eyes lingering, whispers following. I knew it was because of the hair.

Sometimes I didn't know if I should be glad my hearing was so sharp. I could catch even the quietest comments. "He's still hot either way." I heard things like that everywhere.

And If it was my face that they were always referring to, then maybe they should know this wasn't my real face.

And if it was my face they were always talking about, then maybe they should know it wasn't even my real one.
