Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 — A Message to the Top

‎Because now... This wasn't just Orion Tech, this was a move against the upper circle and somewhere beyond the visible chaos, someone powerful had just taken notice.

‎~~At Orion Tech Headquarters~~

‎Silence fell.

‎Not the kind filled with confusion.

‎Not the kind filled with noise.

‎But the kind that came right before the end.

‎The CEO stared at the blank screen.

‎The Blackridge connection was gone.

‎"…No."

‎The word slipped out, quiet. Disbelieving.

‎"No… reconnect it!"

‎"We're trying!" an assistant replied frantically. "The signal's been completely blocked!"

‎"That's impossible!"

‎But even as he said it, he knew nothing about this was normal. Nothing about this was supposed to be possible.

‎~~At Blackstone Tower~~

‎"Elimination phase ready."

‎The report came smoothly.

‎Adrian stood unmoving, his gaze fixed on the final structure of Orion Tech. Barely holding.

‎Elena watched the data carefully.

‎"…If you push now," she said quietly, "there's no recovery."

‎A pause.

‎"No second chance."

‎Adrian didn't hesitate.

‎"Finish it."

‎The command fell. Absolute.

‎Across the system everything moved at once.

‎~~At Orion Tech~~

‎"Sir!"

‎The entire building seemed to freeze.

‎Screens flickered violently.

‎Systems crashed one after another.

‎"What's happening?!"

‎"We're losing everything!"

‎"Core database's gone!"

‎"Financial system's offline!"

‎"Trading access are cut!"

‎The CEO staggered back.

‎"…No…"

‎12:57 PM. The final drop.

‎"Stock just crashed!"

‎"Sixty percent... seventy!"

‎"It's still falling!"

‎The market didn't hesitate, didn't pause, didn't care because confidence was already gone.

‎~~At Blackstone Tower~~

‎"Collapse confirmed."

‎"Asset value critical."

‎"Operational failure... total."

‎Elena exhaled slowly.

‎"…It's over."

‎Adrian didn't respond because he already knew.

‎~~Back at Orion Tech~~

‎The building had fallen into chaos.

‎Phones rang unanswered.

‎People shouted over each other.

‎Some stood frozen while others are already packing because survival had replaced loyalty.

‎The CEO stood alone at the center of it all, watching everything crumble.

‎"…We had backing…"

‎His voice cracked.

‎"…We had support…"

‎But it hadn't mattered because the force that hit them was stronger, faster and unstoppable.

‎At that exact moment every screen in the building flickered. Then it all went black.

‎Silence. And then one line appeared.

‎White text. Centered. Unavoidable.

‎[Know your place.]

‎No signature, no name but the message was clear.

‎~~At Blackstone Tower~~

‎Elena stared at the screen.

‎"…You didn't just destroy them."

‎A pause.

‎"You made a statement."

‎Adrian's gaze remained steady.

‎"They needed one."

‎Silence filled the room because this wasn't just about Orion Tech anymore.

‎This was a signal to anyone watching.

‎Across the city in private offices, hidden lounges and secured networks. The same message appeared.

‎Brief. Precise. Unignorable.

‎[Know your place.]

‎And for the first time some of the most powerful people in the city felt something unfamiliar. Pressure.

‎~~Back in the Ardent Circle~~

‎The room was quieter than usual not empty but restrained.

‎"…He sent it to everyone."

‎A voice, low.

‎"…Not just Orion Tech."

‎Marcus leaned back slightly, exhaling.

‎"…That's not confidence anymore."

‎A pause.

‎"That's a declaration."

‎Across the room Damien stood by the window, still, silent but his eyes burned with something sharper now.

‎"…Adrian Voss."

‎The name no longer felt light.

‎"…You've crossed the line."

‎A faint smile formed. Cold. Interested.

‎"Good."

‎Because now, this wasn't a test. This was war.

‎~~Back at Blackstone Tower~~

‎The systems stabilized and the operation complete.

‎Elena turned slightly toward Adrian.

‎"…Blackridge won't ignore this."

‎A pause.

‎"You didn't just cut them off."

‎Her voice lowered.

‎"You challenged them."

‎Adrian finally looked at her. Calm. Unshaken.

‎"Then they can respond."

‎Silence. Because there was no hesitation, no doubt but only certainty.

‎And somewhere above the visible layers of power, a new player had just made himself known.
