Wenzhi didn't know when he had fallen asleep.
He wasn't sure whether it was the pain medication Doctor Rui had given him, the bone-deep exhaustion from the assassination, or the presence of Shao Xinyuan lying right beside him.
Whatever the reason, he had slept deeper than he had in years.
When he finally stirred, the first thing he saw was Xinyuan.
Their faces were only inches apart on the wide, plush bed inside the jet's private suite. Wenzhi simply stared. How could someone look this good while sleeping? It was ridiculous. Shao Xinyuan was a literal sleeping beauty.
Wenzhi carefully pushed himself upright, intending to find his phone and kill time. But before he could shift away, he felt a firm tug against his clothes.
He froze and looked down.
Xinyuan was still completely asleep, but one hand had somehow caught the hem of Wenzhi's shirt, his long fingers curled around the fabric as if he'd unconsciously decided Wenzhi wasn't allowed to leave.
