Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: Quiet Resolve

Kojima Ren walked along the outer path the next morning, the sun warm on his back. The island felt steady after the announcement about Raijin, but the news still sat heavy in his chest. He kept his steps even, focusing on the work ahead.

Kojima: We keep building. That's what matters right now.

Sylphira walked right beside him, her long red hair swaying gently. She stayed close but said little at first, then spoke quietly.

Sylphira: Master… we'll handle it if he comes.

Mira moved on his other side, her violet eyes still sharp from yesterday.

Mira: Master~ If that guy shows his face, I'll make sure he regrets it.

Vaelor followed a few steps behind, carrying supplies. His voice was calm.

Vaelor: Master, we should reinforce the outer edges today. Better to be prepared.

They worked together on the new fragment that had merged overnight. Kojima used his enhanced strength from the bloodline to move heavy stones. Sylphira used controlled flames to seal cracks in the ground. Mira scouted the edges quickly, checking for weak spots. Vaelor directed the Lumina Elves with precise instructions, making sure everything was placed efficiently.

By midday the new land was properly connected. The territory felt a little larger, a little stronger.

During a short break near the fountain, Kojima sat with the group. He stared toward the northern horizon for a moment, then looked back at his companions.

Kojima: Raijin is out there doing the same thing he always did — taking what he wants by force. But here, things are different. We build together.

Sylphira nodded, her voice steady.

Sylphira: Yes. We keep going.

Mira gave a small smirk.

Mira: Exactly. Let him try whatever he wants.

Vaelor handed out cool drinks and added lightly.

Vaelor: Indeed, Master. The work continues, and so do we.

The afternoon passed with steady tasks. The Lumina Elves continued tending the gardens, adding their light magic to the crops. The island kept growing, quiet and steady.

Kojima felt the weight of the past, but he also felt the strength of the present. Raijin was building his kingdom through fear. Here, they were building something else.
