Chapter 911: What Exactly Did You Do? Well, We Did It
"Kurono! Kurono!"
Nene Saikyo practically tore the heavy oak doors of the Chairman's office off their hinges as she rushed inside.
Her heart was still hammering against her ribs. That colossal, apocalyptic sword projection that had just cleaved the sky—it was a strike that defied all logic. Since the terrifying epicenter had been in the direction of Tonrou Academy, she was absolutely certain something catastrophic was unfolding. She had sprinted all the way here, desperate to formulate a countermeasure with Kurono Shinguuji.
But the moment she burst into the room, the frantic words died in her throat.
Nene froze, her eyes widening to the size of saucers.
Sitting casually in the high-backed leather chair behind the mahogany desk was a remarkably handsome young man. And draped across his lap, pliant and soft like a smitten maiden, was the normally iron-willed Chairman of Hagun Academy. Kurono's arms were wrapped around the man's neck, her eyes half-closed as she obediently and passionately kissed him.
Nene stood there, completely and utterly stunned. Her brain short-circuited.
Ren's eyes crinkled in amusement. He slowly pulled back, breaking the kiss, and gently pinched Kurono's chin.
"Looks like your friend is here to see you."
"It's fine," Kurono murmured, her voice uncharacteristically breathless. She leaned in, her half-lidded eyes still craving the warmth of his lips.
But Ren raised a single finger, pressing it lightly against her soft lips to stop her.
He let out a low, rumbling chuckle. "There's plenty of time for this later. Don't neglect your friend. I'll play with you properly next time."
With those words, the air around Ren rippled. In the blink of an eye, his figure dissolved into the ether, vanishing entirely from the office.
Just before he faded away, his gaze shifted to Nene, flashing her a deeply meaningful, predatory smirk that made her breath hitch.
And then, he was gone.
Left alone on the chair, Kurono let out a soft sigh. She stood up, her movements languid, and began buttoning up her wide-open collar, concealing the flushed skin beneath. Her hands moved down to smooth out the wrinkles in her tight, hip-hugging pencil skirt.
In a matter of seconds, the pliant, love-struck woman vanished. She adjusted her glasses, instantly slipping back into her usual dignified, authoritative demeanor.
She looked up at the paralyzed intruder. "What do you want from me?"
"Huh???"
A tidal wave of questions crashed into Nene's mind. She pointed a trembling finger at Kurono, who was acting as if she hadn't just been caught making out on her office desk.
"You—you old woman!" Nene shrieked, her voice cracking. "How dare you sleep with your own student?!"
"Ren is not a student," Kurono replied, a faint, satisfied smile playing on her lips. "He is my husband."
Nene's jaw practically hit the floor.
"Husband? Are you kidding me?!" she yelled, throwing her hands up. "That boy is so young! He looks so small, and you're telling me he's your husband, you old woman? Do you take me for a fool?!"
Kurono simply shook her head, a low chuckle escaping her throat.
She could agree that Ren was young in appearance. But to call him small... well, even if she hadn't exactly compared him to other men, Kurono could confidently swear on her life that Ren's 'size' was exceptionally large. Dangerously so.
"Are you... really not kidding me?" Nene's voice dropped, the sheer absurdity of the situation finally giving way to the realization that Kurono was dead serious.
Kurono spread her hands gracefully. "What reason do I have to deceive you?"
As she spoke, a sudden thought crossed her mind. She remembered the lingering, appreciative look Ren had given Nene right before he teleported away. A spark of inspiration lit up her amber eyes.
Her smile widened into something dangerously inviting. "Nene, do you want to join us?"
"Join you?" Nene blinked, her brain struggling to process the sudden shift in conversation.
"Mm. Become Ren-kun's woman."
Silence descended upon the office. A heavy, suffocating silence.
Then, Nene couldn't hold it back anymore. She exploded.
"Did you take the wrong medicine, or is your brain just completely filled with water?!" she cursed, her face flushing with anger and confusion. "Are you sick?!"
What kind of sane woman would actively invite her best friend to sleep with her own husband?! Her immediate conclusion was that Kurono had finally snapped under the pressure of running the academy.
Kurono's expression didn't waver. She shook her head slightly.
"I am not mad, and I am not sick. I simply want to let you, my dearest friend, see a completely new world."
"For example..."
Kurono's voice paused.
"...Like this."
The second half of her sentence didn't come from the desk. It came from directly behind Nene's ear.
Nene flinched violently. Her combat instincts flared, and she spun around in a panic, only to find Kurono already standing right behind her.
A slender hand rested lightly on Nene's shoulder.
"When?!" Nene gasped, her eyes wide with sheer astonishment. She hadn't sensed a single shift in the air, not a twitch of muscle, not a whisper of movement.
How was this possible?
The two of them were peers. Nene was the current third-ranked Knight in the Alliance, and Kurono was the former third-ranked. Their combat strengths and reaction speeds were practically identical. For Kurono to bypass her senses completely was a statistical impossibility.
"Nene, what do you think I just did?" Kurono asked, her tone calm and measured.
Nene's brows knitted together in deep concentration. She rapidly replayed the last three seconds in her head, searching for any telltale sign of movement, any shift in mana or footing. She wanted to find a flaw in Kurono's execution.
But no matter how hard she analyzed it, there was nothing. It was as if a frame of reality had simply been deleted.
"How did you do that?" Nene demanded, staring intensely into her friend's eyes. If she didn't get an answer right now, she wouldn't be able to sleep for a week.
Kurono slowly raised a single finger.
"My Noble Art is time-causality interference. So, I stopped time."
"You can already do that?!" Nene gasped, deeply shocked. She knew Kurono's abilities, but a complete temporal halt was a theoretical peak she hadn't reached.
However, Kurono shook her head.
"Not just that." Her eyes gleamed with a terrifying, absolute confidence. "I didn't just stop time in this room. I stopped the time of the entire world."
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!!!" Nene blurted out, taking a step back.
Was this a joke? How could any human being possess the mana capacity to freeze the time of the entire planet?
"That's impossible no matter how I think about it!"
But as she looked at Kurono's face—at that serene, unshakable smile and the absolute certainty in her eyes—Nene's protests died in her throat. Kurono wasn't lying. She couldn't fake that kind of aura.
"Can you... really do it?" Nene asked, her voice dropping to a low, hoarse whisper.
Kurono nodded. "You know me. I don't need to lie to you."
"Heh, I know you think it defies all logic," Kurono continued softly. "But that is the absolute truth. And this overwhelming power... it comes directly from my husband."
`[Ding! You have been invited to the Doomsday Chat Group by Kurono Shinguuji, a member of this world's group!]`
A mechanical voice echoed directly inside her mind, accompanied by a sudden influx of foreign knowledge. Nene stood frozen, utterly dumbfounded as a translucent blue screen materialized in her vision.
Inside the Chat Group of this world:
Stella: "Hmm? Shizuku, Ayase, did you see that? I think I just saw the Chairman!"
Shizuku Kurogane: "I saw her."
Ayase Ayatsuji: "Me too."
Kurono Shinguuji: "Let's reintroduce ourselves. I am Kurono Shinguuji, and as of today, I am Ren's woman."
Stella: "Eh?!"
Ayase Ayatsuji: "Wow!"
Shizuku Kurogane: "Heh. It's not entirely unexpected."
Stella: "Ren, what is going on?! What exactly did you and the Chairman do?!"
Ren: "Hmm, we did it."
Shizuku Kurogane: "..."
Ayase Ayatsuji: "..."
Stella: "Huh?! What are you talking about?!"
Ren: "Haha, I won't tease you anymore. Basically, I showed her my power, and then Kurono became obsessed with my strength and fell uncontrollably in love with me."
While he conveniently omitted the physical conquering part, his summary was close enough to the truth. Kurono's attraction to his overwhelming dominance was indeed powerful and entirely uncontrollable.
Stella: "You... don't be too outrageous!"
Kurono Shinguuji: "I've already heard about your situations from Ren. From now on, we should consider ourselves on the same side."
Shizuku Kurogane: "Emmm. I have mixed feelings about this."
Ayase Ayatsuji: "Um, is that person named Nene Saikyo also on our side?"
Nene Saikyo: "..."
Kurono Shinguuji: "Not yet."
Kurono Shinguuji: "She is my friend and a temporary teacher at the Academy. I think Ren might have taken a liking to her, so I pulled her in."
Kurono Shinguuji: "Ren, husband, do you like her?"
Ren: "Hmm. Extremely satisfied."
Nene Saikyo: "???"
