Chapter 865: Spirit of Origin Mio Takamiya, Disgusting Incongruities, and the Uncertainty Factor on the Kabbalah Tree of Life

The Spirit of Origin materialized.

She possessed flowing silver-white hair that caught the ambient light like spun moonlight, framing a perfectly sculpted face that belonged in a museum of divine art. She looked every bit the biblical angel descended to earth.

Yet, as Kurumi stared at her, her crimson and gold eyes narrowed into dangerous slits. Beneath that flawless, holy exterior beat the heart of a devil. Kurumi's fingers twitched. The overwhelming urge to summon Zafkiel, to draw her flintlocks and gun this woman down right here and now to prevent the tragedies of the future, burned fiercely in her chest.

But she forced her hands to remain at her sides. She had promised to listen to Ren, and she swallowed the violent impulse clawing at her throat.

"What are you going to do?" Kurumi asked, her voice tight.

"What to do?" Ren stretched his neck, a lazy smirk tugging at his lips. "Just go over and say hello, of course."

Sneaking around in the shadows simply wasn't his style.

Just as the Spirit of Origin prepared to weave her usual web of deceit around the timeline, space warped. Without a single sound, Ren bypassed the laws of physics, instantly teleporting himself, Kurumi, and the White Queen directly into her path.

Kurumi's stance dropped low, her spiritual energy flaring as she braced for a world-shattering confrontation.

But the moment the Spirit of Origin's gaze locked onto Ren, her ethereal eyes widened in a rare display of raw instinct. She didn't attack. She didn't speak. She simply blinked, and in a fraction of a second, warped several thousand meters away, putting as much distance between herself and the young man as reality allowed.

Her absolute intuition screamed that the man standing before her was an unmatched, impossible threat.

"Tsk, are you really that afraid of me?" Ren sighed, rubbing the back of his neck in exasperation. "I originally thought my handsome face was quite popular with women. That is, until I met you."

He didn't give chase. He merely raised a hand and casually hooked his index finger.

Space folded. The Spirit of Origin, who had just fled thousands of meters away, was violently yanked backward, reappearing precisely where she had started.

Panic finally broke through her calm facade. Her body erupted in a blinding, prismatic light. She channeled the absolute authority of her spiritual power, desperately trying to launch an attack and tear open a spatial rift to escape.

Yet, aside from glowing like a beautiful, oversized lightbulb, absolutely nothing happened. Her immense power was completely smothered by the sheer weight of Ren's presence. Having fallen into his hands, the concept of 'escape' had been erased from reality.

Realizing the futility of her struggle, the blinding light slowly faded. The Spirit of Origin ceased her resistance.

Her gaze swept past Ren, landing briefly on Kurumi and the White Queen. A flicker of recognition crossed her flawless features; she instantly deduced their identities and the temporal lineage they represented.

Finally, her eyes returned to the sole anomaly.

"Who are you?" she asked. It was the first time she had spoken. Her voice carried the gentle, melodic chime of a silver bell caught in a spring breeze, radiating a soft, almost maternal warmth.

"Ren. It's a pleasure to meet you, beautiful Spirit of Origin," he replied, dipping his head in a mock bow.

The Spirit of Origin showed no surprise that this unfathomable stranger knew her true nature. "Why did you appear at this time?" she asked, her tone analytical. "Three entities who absolutely should not exist at this point in history."

"Because I wanted to, so I came." Ren shrugged, making no effort to shroud his motives in mystery.

However, her line of questioning was entirely pointless. He was the one holding all the cards; he might as well be the one asking the questions.

"Miss Spirit of Origin, you should know exactly what you are doing right now, shouldn't you?" Ren asked, his casual tone dropping a fraction.

She remained silent, her expression unreadable.

Ren didn't mind the cold shoulder. He answered for her. "You are currently splitting your power, dividing it into Sephira Crystals, and sending them out into the world to create new Spirits. Am I right?"

"...Since you are already well aware of everything I am doing, why bother asking?" she replied smoothly. "Why not directly state your intentions?"

"Tsk, the Spirit Lady is really impatient. So you're the type who likes to get straight to the point." Ren shook his head, a wicked glint flashing in his eyes. "I'm different. I prefer a much more gradual approach. You know, with plenty of foreplay."

"Ren-kun," Kurumi deadpanned, her eye twitching. "There is absolutely no need to brag about your perverted nature at a time like this." Even she couldn't stand his shamelessness when facing down the progenitor of all Spirits.

"Kurumi, you've got the wrong idea," Ren said, feigning a look of deep hurt. "I'm talking about the serious business of conversational pacing, not perversion."

Feeling that his pristine image had been severely misunderstood by his companions, Ren cleared his throat and straightened his expression. The playful aura vanished, replaced by a sharp, piercing intensity.

He asked his final, most critical question.

"Miss Spirit of Origin, it certainly looks like you are very clear about what you are doing." The action of dividing her power was obvious. "So, I will ask you this."

He took a step forward. "Do you know the purpose behind what you are doing?"

Why do this?

Why split the Sephira Crystals?

Why create the Spirits in the first place?

These were fundamental truths the Spirit of Origin should have known as a matter of course. It was the entire driving force of her existence.

But the moment the question left Ren's lips, she froze.

The ethereal, god-like entity stood completely paralyzed. The light in her eyes scattered. She... didn't know.

No matter how hard she scoured her mind, no matter how deep she traced her memories back to their absolute source, she drew a complete blank. She had no idea why she was doing any of this.

Kurumi frowned deeply, catching the dazed, hollow look on the progenitor's face. "She doesn't know why she's doing this?"

That was exactly right. She didn't know.

This was the bizarre, chilling fact Ren had discovered shortly after arriving in this world.

This Spirit of Origin, who by all laws of this universe should have been named Mio Takamiya, had never actually obtained that name.

According to the established history of this world, everything she did—the creation of the Sephira Crystals, the distribution of power to human girls—was supposed to be a desperate, centuries-long scheme to refine her power and revive her lost love, Shinji Takamiya.

However, there was one glaring, fatal flaw in this reality.

There was no person named Shinji Takamiya in this world. He simply did not exist.

And without him, there was no one to give the Spirit of Origin a name, no one to fall in love with, and no one to mourn.

So why was she still following the script? Why was she still creating Spirits?

Ren's question had ripped the veil off a bloody, terrifying truth. Everything the Spirit of Origin was doing lacked a foundation. It was all a hollow imitation. A fake reality.

This was a massive, fundamental deviation from the information Ren had gathered during his last visit to this universe. The native inhabitants of this world were bound by its logic; they could never perceive this paradox. But as an outsider with absolute clarity, Ren immediately noticed the disgusting, suffocating sense of incongruity bleeding into the world.

The root of the problem lay in a place far deeper and more fundamental than the Spirit of Origin herself.

It was the Kabbalah Tree of Life.

It was the supreme, tree-like metaphysical structure composed of ten unspeakable spheres and twenty-two illusory, chaotic paths, serving as the foundational blueprint of the void universe.

Simultaneously, its dark reflection existed: the Tree of Qliphoth, the Reverse Kabbalah, completely opposite in concept and structure to the Tree of Life.

The ten spheres were the Sephiroth.

The Angels wielded by the Spirits, and the Demon Kings wielded by the Inverse Spirits, respectively represented the Sephiroth of these two cosmic trees.

The Sephiroth of the Kabbalah Tree of Life stood as absolute concepts: Keter (Crown), Chokmah (Wisdom), Binah (Understanding), Chesed (Mercy), Gevurah (Severity), Tiferet (Beauty), Netzach (Victory), Hod (Splendor), Yesod (Foundation), and Malkuth (Kingdom).

Conversely, the Qliphoth of the Reverse Tree embodied the abyss: Atheism, Dullness, Rejection, Apathy, Cruelty, Ugliness, Lust, Greed, Instability, and Materialism.

Above it all, the Spirit of Origin symbolized the three ultimate veils of negative existence that birthed the Kabbalah: Ain (Nothingness), Ain Soph (The Limitless), and Ain Soph Aur (The Limitless Light).

Everything in this universe began and ended with these concepts.

And right now, the Kabbalah Tree of Life was deeply, fundamentally infected.

The Doomsday Chat Group chimed in his mind, confirming his exact suspicions.
