Chapter 729 - The Demon King Among Demon Kings! Kuro Usagi’s Despair!

Chapter 729: The Demon King Among Demon Kings! Kuro Usagi's Despair!

"!!!"

Leticia Dracul stiffened.

The sensation of warmth pressing against her back was sudden and terrifyingly absolute.

She was a pure-blooded vampire, a former Demon Lord, and a Knight of the Round Table. Her senses were honed to perceive a drop of blood falling from a mile away. Yet, this man had appeared behind her like a ghost stepping out of a mirror. No sound. No displacement of air. No fluctuation of spiritual power.

It was as if he had always been there, and the world had simply forgotten to render him until now.

Even Shiroyasha, the Lord of the White Night and one of the strongest beings in the Little Garden (Hakoniwa), frowned deeply. Her golden eyes narrowed as she fanned herself, trying to pinpoint the disturbance in the ley lines.

"Ren..." Shiroyasha muttered, a bead of cold sweat trickling down her temple. "To bypass my perception in my own territory... you are truly absurd."

Ren saw her tense posture and chuckled softly, his breath tickling Leticia's ear, causing the vampire maid to shudder.

"Don't bother sensing it anymore, Shiroyasha. I've already confirmed it. The rules of Little Garden can't track me."

He relaxed his posture, leaning his weight slightly onto Leticia, treating the former Demon Lord like a comfortable armrest. His aura was calm, akin to a deep ocean that swallowed all light.

"Even in this city of gods and demons, my power remains absolute. No restrictions. No nerfs."

"..."

Shiroyasha looked at him resentfully, snapping her fan shut with a sharp clack.

"You scared the living daylights out of me, you monster. Do you have any idea how much trouble you'd cause if the Upper Floors noticed an irregularity like you?"

She sighed, rubbing her temples. "If you were targeted, I wouldn't have a good time. The Twin Goddesses would descend from the sun just to smack me to death for harboring an anomaly."

"Heh heh, isn't it fine now?"

Ren smiled, his hand boldly resting on Leticia's waist, fingers tracing the fabric of her maid uniform. "Isn't it good to occasionally live an exciting life? Does it remind you of your days as a problem child, the terrifying Demon Lord of the White Night?"

"…I'd rather not have that kind of excitement, thank you very much."

Algol's tragic state—turned into a demon star and sealed away—was a real-life example that Shiroyasha wanted to avoid repeating.

She waved her hand frantically, speaking as if shooing away a plague god. "Hurry up and take her away. Just looking at you makes me feel like my Spirit Status is degrading from stress."

Leticia's ruby eyes flickered with complex emotions.

The man wrapping his arms around her was her new master. He treated Shiroyasha—a being who commanded respect from the entire Little Garden—with the casual familiarity of an old friend, or perhaps, a superior.

'So calm... so composed,' Leticia thought, her heart racing against her will. 'Full of jokes in the face of a Floor Master. Could he really be... a powerful two-digit existence? A Truth of the Universe?'

"Eh? Shiroyasha-sama... taking her away means..."

Suddenly, a panicked, youthful voice intruded into the tense atmosphere.

The heavy oak doors of the VIP room burst open.

A cute girl with long, flowing blue hair and twitching blue rabbit ears stood there, panting slightly. She wore a high-collared coat over a daringly short skirt, the signature attire of the Moon Rabbits.

Kuro Usagi (Black Rabbit).

She looked at Leticia and the stranger holding her intimately, her eyes widening in shock and disbelief.

"I... I heard everything just now," Kuro Usagi stammered, her bunny ears standing straight up in alarm. "Shiroyasha-sama, are you referring to Leticia-sama? You're... letting him take her?"

Shiroyasha nodded calmly, reopening her fan to hide her expression.

"That's right, Kuro Usagi. I've given Leticia to him. The transaction is complete. She is now his property, his servant, and his possession."

"W-why?!"

Kuro Usagi's voice cracked. She stepped forward, her hands clenched into fists.

"We just... we just managed to get Leticia-sama back! The [No Name] Community needs her! We can't lose her again!"

They had fought so hard. They had gambled everything. And now, she was being sold off like a common item?

"My dear little rabbit, there aren't so many whys in this world," Ren interjected smoothly.

His voice was deep and magnetic, cutting through Kuro Usagi's panic. He turned his gaze toward the rabbit girl, sizing her up with unabashed interest.

"It's just a transaction between adults. Supply and demand."

As expected of an Indra's Dependent. A descendant of the Moon Rabbit, known as the "Noble of Little Garden." She radiated a pure, sacrificial aura that was quite appetizing.

"!!!"

Shiroyasha saw the glint in Ren's eyes and practically jumped out of her skin. She frantically winked at him, signaling him to stop.

"Ren! Oi! You don't have any ideas about Kuro Usagi, do you? Don't even think about it!"

"Hmm? Is it not allowed? She seems quite high quality."

Ren tilted his head, his hand still possessively on Leticia, but his eyes locked on the rabbit.

Shiroyasha twitched her lips, leaning over the table to whisper a frantic warning:

"Let me tell you, even I haven't truly laid a hand on her, and I've wanted to for centuries! She's the last Moon Rabbit, and she's that guy's favorite retainer. If you really touch her, that guy will definitely descend from the Heavens."

She was referring to Indra.

Sakra Devanam Indra. The Lord of the Devas. The King of Gods.

He ruled the skies of Little Garden. Originally the leader of the evil gods of Zoroastrianism, a Demon Lord on par with "Absolute Evil," he had converted to Buddhism and become the strongest War God.

Although he often acted like a useless old man fond of alcohol and women, his power was unquestionable. A 3-digit entity with the combat prowess to rival the Greek Chief Gods.

The key was that Indra was notoriously protective, especially of Kuro Usagi.

Just look at the Gifts Kuro Usagi possessed.

Simulated Divinity: Vajra. A weapon imbued with Indra's direct grace, capable of piercing the heavens.

Simulated Divinity: Brahma Spear. A guaranteed victory God Spear forged by Indra and Brahma, the Creator God.

Moon Sovereignty: Chandral Mahal. The power of the Moon God.

Every single item on her body shouted, "Property of the King of Gods." Touching her was equivalent to slapping Indra in the face.

Shiroyasha did not want to attract that lightning-wielding maniac to her shop.

"Oh."

But to this dire warning, Ren only replied with a light, dismissive sound.

"Just Indra?"

His tone was flat. Bored, even. As if she had just warned him about an angry neighbor's dog.

"..."

Shiroyasha froze. Her fan dropped from her hand onto the table.

She realized something terrifying.

This guy... he wasn't afraid.

Since he was not restricted by the rules of Little Garden, since his Spirit Status was unreadable... Ren, with such absurd power, was simply the Demon King among Demon Kings!

He could kill whoever he wanted. He could take whatever he wanted. If Indra descended? He would probably just beat the King of Gods into submission too.

Finally, Shiroyasha sighed, slumping into her chair. She rubbed her forehead with a wry smile, looking aged beyond her years.

"Then... can you at least consider me for a moment? I know you're not afraid of those two-digit cosmic horrors, but I am! I have a business to run!"

"???"

Leticia, who had been silent in Ren's embrace, widened her eyes.

Her heart pounded against her ribcage. If it was just a guess before... Shiroyasha's resignation confirmed it.

This man really wasn't afraid of the 2-digit Truths of the Universe!

If it was him... if she served a master this powerful...

Leticia clenched her fists, a strange heat rising in her chest. Perhaps, this was not a tragedy, but salvation.

"Shiroyasha-sama... Leticia-sama... please tell me what happened?!"

Kuro Usagi's ears drooped completely. She looked between the powerful figures, feeling small and helpless. "Why are you talking like that?"

This time, it wasn't Shiroyasha who explained.

It was Leticia.

She took a deep breath, leaning back into Ren's embrace as if drawing strength from him.

"Kuro Usagi," Leticia spoke softly but firmly. "This is my choice. To become this adult's servant. To belong to Ren-sama."

"W-why?!" Kuro Usagi's eyes filled with tears. "Leticia-sama could clearly return to [No Name]! We could be together again! We have the water tree now, we can rebuild..."

"Kuro Usagi."

Leticia interrupted her, her voice tinged with a painful reality. "The current [No Name] cannot accommodate me. My existence would doom the Community."

She had self-awareness.

[No Name] was a ruin. It had no banner, no name, and barely any members.

Everyone was watching Kuro Usagi struggling alone, trying to keep the embers alive. If a former Demon Lord like Leticia returned, the other Communities wouldn't sit idly by. The debts, the enemies, the bounties on her head...

"My identity is too sensitive," Leticia whispered. "I am a pure-blooded vampire. A former Demon Lord. Any slight disturbance caused by me would lead to the destruction of [No Name]. You cannot protect me, and I cannot protect you while shackled."

So she had to leave.

Moreover, now with Ren... she had a reason to leave. A master who could truly shelter her.

Kuro Usagi was not stupid. On the contrary, beneath her naive exterior, she was a Judge of Little Garden. She understood the cruel logic instantly.

"..."

She lowered her head unwillingly. Her long blue ears drooped down to her shoulders, twitching with suppressed sobs.

"I'm sorry... Leticia-sama..."

Kuro Usagi choked back a cry. "It's all because we... because I am too useless. If I were stronger... if [No Name] was stronger..."

"No, Kuro Usagi. You've already tried very hard. You are the strongest rabbit I know."

Leticia's comfort was gentle, but it couldn't heal the wound of powerlessness.

The atmosphere in the room was heavy with tragedy and separation.

"Sigh."

Ren sighed slightly, the sound cutting through the melodrama.

He tightened his grip on Leticia's waist, pulling her flush against his body, asserting his dominance over the situation.

"Why do I feel like you're treating me like some villain who's breaking up a family?"

Ren looked at the crying rabbit and the melancholic vampire, a wicked smirk curling his lips.

"I am taking a beautiful maid into my care. Shouldn't this be a happy occasion?"
