Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: Four Gods vs One Stubborn Soul

The final wave raged across the broken camp like an unstoppable storm. Fissures split the ground wider with every passing second while purple-black light poured from the sky in heavy sheets. The Trinity Vessel stood at the center of the chaos, its body wrapped in four conflicting lights as the gods inside fought for total dominance.

Lira refused to back down even as her silver threads flickered weakly. She stepped closer to the Vessel and spoke with quiet determination. "Kai, if you can still hear me, hold on. We are right here. We have not given up on you."

Mira stood beside her, eyes red from crying but her voice fierce. She said, "You promised us you would stay you. Fight them, Kai. We need our friend back."

The Vessel tilted its head. For a brief moment the four colors in its eyes clashed violently. Kai's normal brown eyes appeared again, filled with exhaustion and pain. He looked at his friends and whispered, "I am still trying. But four of them are too strong. I do not know how much longer I can last."

A sharp flash burned behind Kai's eyes.

The message hit him like fire. The four gods were no longer fighting each other. They were working together to crush what remained of him.

Lira saw the pain on his face and sent her last silver threads forward. She said, "Kai, come back to us. Remember the morgue. Remember the first Echo when you sounded like a rich snob asking for wine in the middle of a monster fight. That funny, stubborn gamer is still you."

Mira ran forward without any cards left and hugged the Vessel tightly. She cried, "Kai, please. We love you. Come back to us."

The Vessel screamed with four voices at once. Its body convulsed as the internal war reached its peak. For nearly a full minute, Kai's real voice was the loudest. He said, "I am Kai Voss. I died once. But I choose to live as me. I will not let you take my friends."

The Vessel dropped to its knees. The four colors in its eyes spun wildly. The golden light of Solara clashed against the other three, creating bursts of raw energy that cracked the ground around it.

The giant Void Herald roared and stepped forward, ready to crush everything in its path. The final wave continued to pour more power into the Vessel, making its form grow stronger and more terrifying with every passing moment.

Lira and Mira refused to run. They stood together, exhausted and bleeding, but determined to fight until the end. The fate of their friend and the entire camp now rested on whether the last spark of Kai could hold on just a little longer.

The Vessel slowly rose to its feet again. Its four-colored eyes burned with unified rage. It looked at the two girls and spoke in a voice that sent chills through the air. "The boy's time is over. The new era begins now."

It raised both hands toward the Herald. The colossal creature roared and charged straight toward Lira and Mira.

The final moments had arrived.
