Chapter 13 - Chapter 13:The War Begins

The night was quiet.

Too quiet.

Daniel stood still, his gaze fixed ahead.

But his mind…

Was already moving.

Fast.

"They were never random," he said.

Lena looked at him.

"What do you mean?"

A pause.

Daniel's eyes darkened slightly.

"My family… Jason… everything."

His fists clenched.

"It was all connected."

Silence.

Lena's heart skipped.

"…No."

But deep down—

She already knew.

Meanwhile…

Miles away…

The mansion stood just as it always had.

Bright.

Beautiful.

Untouched.

Like nothing had ever changed.

Inside—

Laughter echoed.

Jason sat comfortably in the living room.

Relaxed.

Smiling.

Daniel's father poured a drink.

"You've done well," he said.

Jason nodded slightly.

"Of course."

A pause.

"But we still haven't found him."

The room went quiet.

The mother's expression shifted slightly.

"…Do we really need to?" she asked softly.

Jason's smile didn't fade.

"Yes."

A pause.

"We do."

His tone was calm.

But something about it felt…

Wrong.

Back to Daniel…

"They replaced me too easily," he said.

Lena frowned.

"Families fight… it happens…"

Daniel shook his head.

"No."

A pause.

"This wasn't a fight."

His voice dropped.

"It was a decision."

Flashback

That night.

Rain pouring.

His father's voice—

Cold.

Final.

"From today onward… Jason is my real son."

But this time…

Something else.

A detail Daniel had missed before.

Jason standing behind them…

Not surprised.

Not confused.

Smiling.

Back to present

"…He knew," Daniel said quietly.

Lena's eyes widened.

"What?"

"Jason knew it would happen."

Silence.

"That's impossible…"

Daniel looked at her.

"No."

A pause.

"It's not."

Lena's POV

Her mind raced.

The notebook.

The warning.

The man.

The attack.

Daniel's disappearance.

Everything started connecting.

Like pieces of a puzzle finally locking into place.

"…You were being watched," she whispered.

Daniel didn't deny it.

"For how long…?" she asked.

Silence.

Then—

Daniel answered.

"…Since I was a child."

Her breath caught.

"No way…"

"I didn't see it before," he continued.

"But now… it's obvious."

A pause.

"They didn't just find me."

His eyes darkened.

"They raised me."

Meanwhile…

Jason stood by the window.

Looking out into the night.

His phone buzzed.

He picked it up.

A message.

"He's moving."

Jason's smile deepened.

"Good," he muttered.

A pause.

"Then it's finally starting."

Back to Daniel & Lena

"They wanted me to break," Daniel said.

A pause.

"To lose everything."

Lena's hands trembled slightly.

"So they could control you…"

Daniel nodded slowly.

"Yes."

Silence.

Heavy.

Real.

"Then what do we do?" she asked.

Daniel looked ahead.

Calm.

Focused.

This time—

There was no hesitation.

"No more running."

A pause.

"No more reacting."

His voice hardened.

"We take control."

Lena felt a chill run down her spine.

Because the way he said it…

It wasn't just a decision.

It was a declaration.

Final Scene

Jason stared at the city lights.

Unbothered.

Unshaken.

"Daniel…" he said softly.

A faint smile on his lips.

"I've been waiting."

Back to Daniel

His eyes sharpened.

Cold.

Dangerous.

"They started this…"

A pause.

"Now I end it."

Do you think Jason is just a replacement... Or something much more dangerous?
