Someone in the Little Dragon Star System tried to kill him?
Zachary Chase frowned. This sudden news disrupted his original plan.
"This person is a trusted secret agent my sister left in the Little Dragon Star System. Only my sister and I know her identity, so the information she sent must be true. I think we should probably not return to the territory just yet!" Wendy Chase said with some concern.
"Can you contact this person?" Zachary asked.
Wendy thought for a moment and said, "I have a private communication channel to contact her, but I can't guarantee she'll reply promptly."
Zachary began to ponder. His return to his territory this time was not as simple as going home for a holiday. It was for the sake of his future development. To grow stronger and possess the power to protect himself, he must have a strong enough foundation, and the Little Dragon Star System was a ready-made one.
However, due to its decline over the past few decades, the internal situation of the Little Dragon Star System was terrible and complex. Therefore, Zachary wanted to take this opportunity to thoroughly reorganize the Little Dragon Star System and make arrangements for his future.
But if this plan were canceled because of this sudden news, then three months later, when the academy started, the entire year's academic schedule would make it very difficult for him to spare time to deal with the affairs of the Little Dragon Star System. This delay could be a year or even longer.
Zachary did not have that much time to waste.
"We are going home," Zachary said seriously.
Wendy stamped her foot in exasperation: "Hey, are you serious? Now you know there's a group of people in the Little Dragon Star System coming for us, and you still want to go back and offer yourself up?"
"Who said we're going back to offer ourselves up?" Zachary's lips curled into a cold smile as he said, "The situation in our Little Dragon Star System has always been chaotic. Because of the weakness of our Chase family, some of the major and minor nobles within the star system haven't taken us seriously. To truly control the Little Dragon Star System, we must eliminate those festering sores and tumors. Originally, I planned to proceed gradually, but now that they've given me an opportunity, why should I waste it!"
Wendy understood Zachary's intention; he wanted to use this opportunity to uproot the forces behind those who attempted to assassinate him. He planned a major reshuffle of the Little Dragon Star System.
"I don't object to your idea, but you also need to know your own limits. We don't even know how the enemy has arranged things. And we only have two T2 starships—yours and mine. Wouldn't going back be like walking into a tiger's den!" Wendy was still concerned about their safety.
"We will go back, but not immediately. You go and contact the person you mentioned and try to get more information from her. For example, who organized this assassination attempt, what kind of assassination plan they arranged, and whether they organized an interstellar fleet!" Zachary said seriously.
"Those aren't problems, but our strength…"
Zachary's lips curled upward: "Don't worry, I'll be prepared."
Zachary raised his hand and opened a star map. He marked his current location and the location of the Little Dragon Star System on it, then began to filter between the two points. Finally, he chose a place.
Zachary pointed to that location: "We'll go here first!"
Arctic Fox Starport
Wendy looked at the place name, and she looked at Zachary in surprise: "What are we going there for?"
"You'll know when you get there."
"Don't I need to bring my T2 Fire Crow?"
"No need."
"Zachary, what exactly do you want to do!"
"Build a starship!"
"??"
After some preparations, the Blizzard Zero officially departed from the starport of North Starship Military Academy.
Before this, Zachary also received two sums of money in his two accounts: fifty thousand star coins from Victor Hargrove and three million star coins from Leah Warren.
The former was an academy account, and the latter was an account Zachary secretly opened before selling the starship technology, in order to conceal his identity.
He had originally planned to leave on July 1st. But due to the situation in the Little Dragon Star System, Zachary needed to hurry, so he departed two days early. He sent a farewell message to Levi Warren; Wendy also hurriedly said goodbye to Senior Suzanne Lane and others.
"The coordinates are Arctic Fox Starport in the Arctic Fox Galaxy. We will first head to the Star Gate of the North Star Galaxy, then pass through the Star Gate to the Star Gate of the Arctic Fox Galaxy, and finally arrive at Arctic Fox Starport. It is estimated to take five hours." Vice Captain Charlotte stood beside the captain's chair, reporting the planned route she had formulated to Zachary.
"You handle it. I just need to reach Arctic Fox Starport in the shortest possible time." Zachary sat in the captain's chair. Beside him was a sulking Wendy, who was angry that Zachary wouldn't explain clearly what he wanted to do.
"Next, the Level 3 Warp Drive will be activated. During the warp drive navigation phase, all personnel will enter deep-sea navigation mode. All crew members will enter the hibernation pods." Vice Captain Charlotte said.
Zachary nodded in agreement.
To reach the starport of the North Star Galaxy as quickly as possible, using the warp drive was essential.
A starship generally has two to three sets of navigation engine systems. One set is the conventional engine, such as the Blizzard Zero's ability to travel at a speed of 100 knots, which uses the conventional engine. The other most commonly used set is the warp drive.
The warp drive is generally used for long-distance voyages, capable of extreme acceleration for the starship. When using the warp drive, most starships must enter deep-sea mode; otherwise, the side effects of warp navigation would cause crew members not in the resting pods to die instantly. The human body cannot withstand warp navigation. Combat is also not possible during the warp navigation phase.
And warp drives are also graded by speed. From low to high, they are divided into levels one to nine.
Zachary's Blizzard Zero is equipped with a Level 3 Warp Drive.
"Warp drive route pre-set complete. We will now enter the acceleration phase, and in ten minutes, we will enter the warp navigation phase. Within ten minutes, all crew members enter deep-sea mode! Repeat, within ten minutes, all crew members enter deep-sea mode!"
At this moment, Vice Captain Charlotte's voice echoed through various stations inside the starship, accompanied by flashing pale purple lights. This was a warning before entering warp navigation.
Rustle, rustle, rustle.
At this moment, several hibernation pods appeared next to Zachary's captain's chair. These were vertical, cylindrical transparent capsules. Hibernation pods were arranged on the Bridge to allow crew members leaving warp navigation mode to quickly return to their posts and resume combat mode. This was very important in a real battlefield, especially when conducting combat behind enemy lines—this severely tested the reaction capability of a starship's crew.
Zachary also stood in the hibernation pod at this time, looking at Wendy who was entering the hibernation pod next to him: "Don't be nervous. It'll be over in the blink of an eye."
"Please, I've carried out combat missions for the academy's fourth year. I don't need you to teach me." Wendy rolled her eyes, then activated the hibernation pod herself.
A transparent hatch sealed the entire hibernation pod, and then a light blue liquid was injected. In this hibernation liquid, people could breathe independently and would also be hypnotized.
Wendy had already closed her eyes at this moment, as quiet as a sleeping beauty in the water.
Zachary did not immediately enter hibernation. He looked at Charlotte, who was still waiting at the control panel.
At this moment, most of the Blizzard Zero's energy supply was cut off, with almost all energy supplied to the warp drive, while the starship itself maintained a low-power state.
When there were three minutes left until the ten-minute mark, Charlotte turned her head to look at Zachary and reported: "Report, out of 102 crew members on the entire starship, 100 have entered hibernation. There are three minutes until we officially enter the warp navigation phase."
"It's our turn." Zachary crossed his arms over his chest, then took a deep breath and activated the hibernation pod.
The light blue liquid began to cover his entire body. There was no uncomfortable feeling; instead, it made Zachary very relaxed. Finally, he fell into a deep sleep.
