"I'll make out with Kael too!" I mumbled.
I jumped off the bed, walked out of my room, and shut the door behind me.
Knock, knock.
My knuckles landed on his door. I bit down on my lip.
"Come in," he said.
I walked in.
He had just come out of the bathroom. His dark hair was dripping wet, and his eyes bored into mine. My gaze couldn't help but travel downward, landing on his bare chest and the towel wrapped around his waist.
"Did I come at a bad time?" I asked, taking a step backward, ready to walk away.
But—
"Stop," he said.
I froze in place. He walked toward me, and I slowly turned to face him.
"Yes?" I asked.
He didn't say a word. His eyes lingered on me before finally falling to my lips.
I immediately sucked them inward.
He must have noticed the bite marks Veyra had left, because his eyes dimmed.
"Who was in the room with you?" he asked.
The question caught me off guard.
"Someone? No one was in my room," I mumbled.
His thumb landed on my swollen lips.
