AREA - SETAGAYA
TIME LINE: 2080, TOKYO, 10 YEARS AGO.
Raikun looks at his guitar and up at Kain, smiling at him.
Kain extends his hand out, his black hair falling on his tanned face. Raikun puts his hand in and gets up on the stage.
"You could use a good guitar pick, Rai," Kain says softly as the band members look at Rai's guitar pick.
"That's pretty worn out," Niko adds. Rai chuckles nervously and says, "I just got what I found in my attic, so yeah-"
Rai's voice gets cut off by Kain as he extends his hand out with a guitar pick which had a cute dog logo on it. "Here. Take it. Just think of it as… a gift. Your birthday is today, right?" Kain laughs.
Kento adds "Your 17 now man." And cev laughs.
Niko smiles and says "kento you didnt even turn 17 yet".
The warehouse lights flicker in the distance.
Kento says frustratedly "shut up okay?
Niko laughs at him as kento looks away and at rai.
Rai smiles gently as he looks at the guitar pick and up at him again. "Thank you so much, Kain."
Rai's heart began to warm up. He looks at the guitar.
Niko smiles at them, and Kento looks towards Niko and says, "Quit acting cheesy, man."
Niko looks at Kento and adds, "Shut up, stop trying to act tough, dude." He adds, "Kain is just so nice."
Cev adds, "I bet it'll end, though," he smiles.
Niko looks at Cev and says, "Say what?"
Cev sarcastically says, "Nothing, nothing, just look," he says as he looks towards them.
"Just get ready now," Kain says loudly, and he adds, "We're going to rehearse."
All the group members nod.
Rai uses the guitar pick to play a beautiful melody which echoes throughout the warehouse. Niko hits the piano keys, and Kento plays the electric guitar.
Cev sings beautifully, and Kain hits the drums with force.
Rai's laugh mixed with the band's laughter fills the once silent room with laughter.
Meanwhile,
2080, Tokyo, POLICE HEADQUARTERS.
The footsteps of a woman echo throughout the floor as she enters the command centre.
Everyone is seen on their computers, eyes glued The light bleeming on their face.
Analysts start typing rapidly, and some of them are constantly sending calls to the main office.
"We just spotted a weird being near Odaiba Beach. Targets moving east," an officer says on the radio.
"Another target spotted in Shinjuku, heading north," another officer adds.
The woman strides towards the office door and quickly opens it.
A man with a black coat is seen walking back and forth in the office, talking through the phone.
The loud noise of the door opening startles him as he looks at the woman.
"Ameni, what?" he says annoyingly as he puts his hand on his forehead. He waits for her to speak as he notices the angry expression on her face.
Ameni scoffs and says, "Civilians are actively getting murdered AS WE SPEAK." She says as her eyes widen, "Tell me. Tell me why we haven't sent any officers yet, Vark."
Vark ruffles his brown hair as he adds, "I've tried everything, Ameni. We have to assess, and we have to know what it's made of to—"
His voice gets cut off by Ameni's voice, which is filled with anger and sadness.
"And let innocent children die? Why can't we just PROTECT THEM?"
She adds, "What good are you? As the head officer, tell me," she says angrily as tears fill her eyes.
Vark's phone begins to buzz and he answers the call and speaks "We sent the drones to odaiba-"
Ameni cuts off his voice as tears fill her eyes as she strides towards the door and loudly shuts it.
She goes through the control room and thinks to herself, "All this for what?"
She strides down the hallway to the elevator and sees a timid man.
"Good afternoon, ma'am," he mutters as he looks down, clasping his folders as he avoids eye contact.
Ameni looks at him and says, "Good afternoon." She presses the 10th floor button to go out on the terrace, and she proceeds to have a smoke. She blows into the air as the police sirens go out on the streets and the drones surveil the area.
"Cant even have a moment of peace." She mutters to herself.
