Bored. So utterly boring. Kai sat in class listening to a boring lecture.
He had one hand on his chin staring at the outside window at the birds chirping and singing their usual tune.
A typical event.
He then looked at the teacher writing on the board.
A white t-shirt, blue tie and black pants and his usual fake gold watch. The usual attire he wears when he tries to sway the female teachers.
He laughed. Does he really think he can impress anyone wearing the same boring fit every 5th, 11th and 19th day of the new month?
And my classmates. So predictable. The chubby girl, Mia who have a crush on Luke who is just using her feelings for him to manipulate her.
I seriously cannot believe no one has picked up on that yet, not even my foolish teacher.
And then there's Perlica who flexes all her new clothes on everyone but everyone knows her parents are rotten poor. So... where does she get all those brand clothes? I rather not get too deeply involved in that.
There's also Fernando who acts all shy and quiet but deep inside is a beast just waiting to be unleashed.
That same boy has already killed someone... and yet, even though all their lives sounds interesting, their end is so predictable that I rather leave it be.
Sometimes I wish I wasn't born like this. That I was just a normal human being just like them that doesn't view humans as living robots or npcs that are programmed to be boring.
Well at least that girl Abigail seems special. He thought. Many times she tries to break his boring cycle and he encourages her everyday by sprouting his mouth off.
It's not that he is tactless, it's just that he believes saying something wrong would get an interesting result.
I can't even tell the last time I smiled. He sighed.
I wonder what real entertainment is like? He asked himself as the lecture continue on and his boring life repeats in a cycle.
He wish something interesting would happen in his boring life.
He hope something will happen in his boring life.
And his wishes finally come true.
This is entertainment! The dead bodies didn't bother Kai one bit.
However, what bothered him was the suddenness of the three deaths.
He firmly believed the blue fish, Amore would've being voted out.
He even predicted that being voted out would result in death!
Who would have thought that the fish, Amore would find a way to turn things around!
It all caused him to smile. It wasn't just any ordinary small smile.
It was a smile that came from the heart. His face was smiling, his eyes were smiling and even his skin looked like it was smiling.
It was a genuine smile, a foolish smile, a happy smile.
"What is entertainment?" He questioned aloud for everyone to hear.
All the players who were stunned by the sudden change cast their gazes at Kai.
Amore himself also looked at Kai. The newbies he manipulated turn as well.
What he saw caused his face to become flustered.
"That smile of yours... is so captivating." He muttered to himself, unable to control his own smile.
The gentle smile curved into an evil grin.
"This is entertainment!" Ryker answered with a big laugh.
He could tell Kai was up to something. Something big and it made him even crazier than before!
"That's right!" Kai also laughed, his eyes showing a huge amount of insanity. It was so much, it snapped the veterans out of their shock.
It was so much that it turn their shock into fear.
"This creature is scary..."
"He is not a simple newbie."
"He reminds me of Diamond Handlers..."
"I think he might be worse than them..."
They muttered amongst themselves. Amore was the most scariest player in the game. After all, his one vote outnumbered them all combined.
But Kai expression was something they rarely see in the games.
Going insane because of the games wasn't rare. However, going insane out of pure joy? That was pure lunacy.
And in the Pack Games, lunatics are the most fearsome.
"Your smile is breathtaking." Amore spoke, his face still flustered and his voice containing a bit of lust and longing.
"It's so breathtaking that I want to keep it all for myself."
"How about joining the Heart's Faction after this game?" He suddenly suggested.
"No." Kai rejected coldly, but his mad smile made it sound like a rejection from a beautiful witch to Amore who still kept his smile on his face.
"Even if I force you by threatening you to be voted out?" He asked.
"You won't vote me. After all, I am not your target." Kai replied with confidence.
"Excuse me?"
Kai ignored him and turn to the veteran players.
"Have you noticed only Hearts and Spades are being killed?"
The veteran players looked at each other but remained quiet.
The slime on the other hand spoke up. "What are you trying to say?"
Kai looked at the smile and said, "It means there's another option to win. To have the killer's suits be the only ones remained alive!"
"What?" His conclusion confused the veterans but they quickly put two and two together and realized it made sense!
"You're assuming. Its only been a coincidence so far that the players being killed and voted out were Spades and Hearts." Amore objected.
"Besides, I am also a Hearts. Why would I target my own team?"
"You're not a killer so why does your opinion matter?" Ryker said in annoyance. He have long grown tired of Amore.
"I have the voting advantage!"
"So? You can still be killed." Ryker said, licking his lips.
"And what if I can be?"
"Oh, so your saying you didn't manipulate the two killers." Ryker replied with a mocking smile.
"You..." Amore was speechless, but he still turn to Kai with confidence.
"Either way, there's no way you can live if I vote you out!"
"No!" Kai kicked his feet back laughing, his back leaned fully on the chair, his hands slamming on the table.
Amore seeing that realized something wasn't right and that something caused him to start feeling fear just like the other veteran's.
"What are you..." Amore whispered to himself but Kai heard him loud and clear.
Even though he could vote Kai out, he didn't.
"Me? I am ZenZero. A human." And that made Kai chuckle.
"..."
"Aren't you going to ask me what my plan is? No? Well that's a let down." Seeing Amore going quiet made Kai disappointment, but he still kept his smile.
"Well, let me tell you then. You won't vote me out cause even though you manipulate the killer, he have his own objectives and his will to live is far greater than whatever spell you put them under."
"That killer won't target Clubs because the next killer is a Spades! As for how the killer knows that? I have no clue."
"But now it makes one wonder. Why would the killers target one another?"
"Well it's in the games name. This is Killer's Table! A game where the killer murders the killer and where everyone sitting around the table is a potential killer!"
"If the killer finds the killer then something big is going to happen between Hearts and Spades!"
"So come Spades whoever you are! Attack Five of Hearts!" He ended with a cackle while pointing at one of the four Five of Hearts sitting quietly.
As if knowing when the voting phase would end, the lights flickered.
The sound of two chairs scrapping against the floor was heard again.
"I— I am not the killer!" Someone shouted but his shout was left with deaf ears.
"You fool!" The same person shouted and the lights flickered back on to reveal the Five of Hearts Kai pointed at holding a knife.
Right beside him was another tree-like creature, his eyes burning with fury.
"You know this won't end well for the both of us!" The Five of Hearts who was a newbie yelled.
"Hmph." The tree-like creature responded with a harrumph.
"The Two of Spades you killed was my sister. That's all the reason I need!"
