Chapter 67 - Chapter 67. Dance

Aadhya's POV

Suddenly the music shifted into something soft… romantic.

🎶 Jo teri khatir tadpe pehle se hi, kya use tadpana… o zaalima, o zaalima… 🎶

Couples around us instantly paired up and started dancing. I was about to slip away and sit back down when suddenly Avi grabbed my hand.

"Come!" he said, dragging me right into the middle. Before I could react, he started dancing like we were some proper couple—except… he was acting like the girl.

"What the hell?" I laughed. Okay so I'm the guy here?

Fine.

I rolled my eyes and went along with it, spinning him around. He was enjoying it way too much, acting all dramatic, flipping imaginary hair and everything. I glanced at DJ—he just shook his head like childish Avi activated again.

Then suddenly, this idiot left me mid-dance and dragged DJ in. "Your turn!" he said. DJ looked completely done with life but still played along. I stepped aside, took out my phone, and started recording them. I couldn't stop smiling. They looked so stupid… but also weirdly cute.

Then DJ suddenly pulled me back. "Come here," he said, and now we were dancing like an actual couple. I burst out laughing mid-step. And before anything could settle, Avi jumped back in, wrapping us together, turning it into some weird three-person dance.

We were spinning, laughing, bumping into each other—no rhythm, no rules. Just chaos.

And I was smiling like an idiot the whole time.

Vivaan's POV

I shouldn't care.

I remind myself that again as I stand outside, watching through the glass.

But my eyes don't move.

The music changed. Softer. Slower. Romantic. I noticed the shift immediately. People paired up.

Then Avi grabbed her.

I watched her react—surprised, confused for a second… then she just went with it. No hesitation. No awkwardness. She adapted. Like always.

She spun him, played along, laughed.

Too easily.

My jaw tightened slightly.

Then Dheeraj got pulled in. And now it was the two of them. Close. Dancing. Even if it was stupid, even if it was just Avi messing around—

She stepped aside, recording them, smiling like that again. That same smile. Carefree. Open. Like she belongs there.

Then DJ pulled her back.

That's where it shifted.

I went still.

They were closer now. Moving together. Not as chaotic as with Avi. More… synced. Natural.

My grip tightened slightly against my arm.

Unnecessary.

It doesn't mean anything.

It's just a dance.

Then Avi jumped back in, ruining whatever that was, turning it into chaos again. All three of them laughing, spinning like idiots.

"Wow… look at them," Neel muttered, peeking through the glass.

"Full enjoyment without us."

"Selfish people," Bhavik added dramatically.

"Didn't even call us."

Maddy clicked his tongue. "Avi toh hadh kar raha hai. First Adi, then Dheeraj… confused soul."

(Avi seems like a confused soul first Adi then Dheeraj)

Nikansh stayed quiet, arms folded, eyes still on them.

"Should we go in?" Neel asked me.

"No," Vivaan said flatly.

"Not now "

Aadhya's POV

We finished eating, and of course Avi had to create another scene. This little menace was now acting all cute with the cashier, smiling, talking sweetly—damn, even she was enjoying it. I rolled my eyes, walked up, and put my arm around him.

"I'm sorry, my brother is a little childish," I told her. She just smiled and nodded.

DJ paid the bill, and we walked out. Avi was holding my hand like I was his mom. Seriously? Sister maybe… not mom.

"Let's go there!" he said, pointing at another ride.

I immediately shook my head and pointed at him.

"Only you."

He pouted but still ran off and stood in line. Me and DJ just watched him. He even waved at us like we were his parents.

…okay stop. Thought deleted.

I turned to DJ.

"So how are we going to get them out?" I asked, remembering he said the others were here.

"Like this," he said.

Before I could even react, he stepped closer—too close. One hand on my cheek, the other holding my hand.

My heart skipped.

"Hey what are you doing?" I snapped, trying to act normal.

"Your lips are dry… should we wet them?" he said, staring straight at me. Heys what's this Bullshit.

God please help me.

"Don't you have a girlfriend? Stop this," I said, about to push away.

"Trust me," he said softly.

Then, "Close your eyes. I won't kiss you, Adi. I have a girlfriend, remember?"

I nodded instantly and shut my eyes. How can I forget her she was super cute.

I don't know why—but it felt like I was waiting for a disaster.

I could feel his breath close to mine.

"Relax, Adi," he said.

Relax? My heart was literally doing somersaults.

And then suddenly—

I was pulled away.

I opened my eyes and froze.

Neel and Samar were holding DJ back. Vivaan was standing right in front, his expression unreadable—anger? disappointment? I couldn't tell. And Nikansh… was holding my arm. He looked angry.

What the hell?

"Dheeraj, don't you have a girlfriend?" Nikansh snapped.

"Are you out of your mind?" Vivaan added coldly.

DJ just raised an eyebrow. "What did I do?"

"What did you do? You almost kissed Aadhya," Nikansh said.

"And why are you so angry?" DJ asked calmly.

Nikansh went silent.

And looked at me.

I raised an eyebrow. Yeah… why was he so angry?

He suddenly looked away, slightly flustered.

Before anything else could happen—

"AADIII!"

Avi popped out of nowhere holding cotton candy.

"Wait—you didn't have money. Where did you get that from?" I snapped.

"Those aunties gave it for free," he said proudly.

Vivaan immediately glared at him. "And you prioritized that over watching them?"

"Why should I watch them?" Avi asked, confused.

"They almost kissed," Samar added.

Avi froze.

The cotton candy dropped.

"HEY! You can't kiss her!" he snapped at DJ.

DJ smirked. "Why?"

"Because I should first—"

Before he could finish, I smacked his head. "Shut up, idiot."

Then I turned to all of them, arms crossed. "And why are you all here? You were following us?"

Silence.

Some suddenly found the ground very interesting. Others started counting leaves on trees like it was their life mission.

Only Vivaan and Nikansh looked at me.

Finally, one of them muttered, "It's because you only invited Avi and Dheeraj on a date… not us…"

I blinked.

"That's it?" I asked.

All this drama… for that?

I slapped my forehead.

"The date is not over yet. You all can join us," I said.

Instant cheering.

Of course.

Except for two people.

Nikansh… and Vivaan.
