Aadhya's POV
"Cham cham cham… chamki chameli… baarish mein jali… pani mein tali…"
Okay… first of all—WHAT are these lyrics.
Second of all—WHY are they singing it like it's some national anthem.
And third—WHY ARE THEY ALL IN SYNC?!
I stared at them like they had collectively lost their brains.
"Cham cham cham… dil mera jam… paani gira toh ban gaya jam…"
WHAT EVEN—
"They rehearsed this," I muttered under my breath, narrowing my eyes. "They actually rehearsed wrong lyrics on purpose."
What kind of creatures am I studying with?
Seriously.
What's going on today?
Just a while ago, the weather was completely fine. Sun shining, birds probably minding their own business… and now?
Rain.
Heavy rain.
Sudden mood swings.
Just like Vivaan.
I glanced at him.
And as usual—
Either he's smiling like he knows something I don't…
Or rolling his eyes like I personally offended his entire bloodline.
Possessed.
Definitely possessed.
But then—
I looked at Nikansh.
Same attitude.
Same expressions.
Same "I'm too done with life" face.
And worst part?
I've seen that SAME thing in Reyansh too.
I froze.
Wait.
No.
Are they… related?
No no no.
Impossible.
…right?
"Guys! Check the school GC—it's declared a half-day holiday due to heavy rains!"
A random guy—Maddy, I think—shouted while entering.
"What the—?!"
"That's so unfair!"
"They should've told us earlier!"
Everyone started reacting like the world ended.
I just stood there.
Teachers informing us?
Section E?
Priority?
Yeah right.
Good joke.
Everyone started leaving.
One by one.
Like rats escaping a sinking ship.
And then it hit me.
Wait.
Reyansh must've already left.
Wow.
Great.
At least he could've texted me.
Now how am I supposed to go home?
"Hey! Are you planning to stay here forever?" Nikansh shouted.
Damn it.
Does he come with a built-in loudspeaker?
I looked around.
Empty.
Oh.
I'm the only one left.
"I'm coming!" I said quickly, grabbing my bag.
"Tch," he clicked his tongue.
Excuse me?!
I followed him out while he locked the classroom.
And then—
"BOOO!"
I screamed suddenly.
"DAMNIT!" he jumped.
I burst out laughing.
"Tch tch," he muttered, clearly annoyed.
Worth it.
"Hey Nikansh… are you and Vivaan related?" I asked casually.
"No."
Immediate answer.
Suspicious.
"Hmm… feels like it. You both act the same," I said.
Pause.
"Possessed," I added sweetly.
He shot me a sharp glare.
Nice.
Mission successful.
He walked faster.
Run, man, run.
Why does he walk like he's in some survival game?
Relax.
I walked slowly.
No rush.
No bush.
When I stepped outside—
Oh.
My.
God.
It was POURING.
Like actual buckets of water falling from the sky.
I could barely see anything.
No guards.
No cars.
Nothing.
What now?
I shrugged.
Whatever.
Let's enjoy it.
It's been a while since I walked in the rain anyway.
So I started walking.
Like a complete fool.
In heavy rain.
Living my dramatic heroine moment.
Suddenly—
HONK HONK HONK
Oh my God.
WHY.
The road is THIS big.
Can't you go from the side?!
But no—
The horn continued.
Relentless.
My ears.
I walked to the car and knocked on the window.
It rolled down.
Of course.
Of course it's him.
Nikansh Mittal.
The possessed glass boy.
"Can't you see the road is this big?" I snapped.
"Are you stupid? If you walk like that in heavy rain, a car will run over you," he said flatly.
…
Okay.
He's not wrong.
Should I ask for a lift?
No.
He'll refuse.
Also I'm soaked.
His car will get dirty.
"Okay then… good luck," I said, waving and walking away.
"What the—" I heard him mutter.
Then—
The car stopped again beside me.
"You know what… you're the one who needs good luck," he said.
Wow.
He stopped just to insult me.
"Okay, I take my good luck back. Thanks for returning," I said and kept walking.
Again—
The car stopped.
This man has issues.
"Hey. Sit in the car. I'll drop you off. Or you'll get knocked off by some truck," he said.
So rude.
But again…
Not wrong.
And honestly?
I can't see anything in this rain.
"Okay," I said and got in.
He started driving.
I was shivering.
Like actually trembling.
But I ignored it.
He passed me his jacket.
I looked at it.
"It's okay, I'm good," I said.
"You'll freeze before reaching home," he replied.
Straight face.
Facts only.
I took it.
Wore it.
"Thank you," I said softly.
The drive was slow.
Roads flooded.
Visibility almost zero.
Then—
GPS beeped.
Heavy flooding near my area.
Great.
Perfect.
Amazing.
I looked at Nikansh.
He was thinking.
Probably calculating how to get rid of me.
Maybe I should just get down here.
"It's okay, I'll get off here. It's near," I said.
"No. It's dangerous."
He turned the car.
Opposite direction.
Wait—
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"I'll drop you after the rain stops. It's unsafe there right now," he said.
Hmm.
Makes sense.
But where ARE we going?
He stopped near a huge building.
Huge.
Like—
Fifty floors huge.
My jaw dropped.
The gates opened automatically.
He drove in.
Cars everywhere.
Luxury cars.
Oh my God.
Are we in a hotel?
Am I dreaming?
He got out.
I followed.
Lift.
Followed again.
People greeted him.
I looked at him.
He shrugged.
Pressed—
50th floor.
WHAT.
IT WAS NOT A GUESS.
WHAT IS HAPPENING.
We reached after what felt like forever.
Doors opened.
And—
Oh.
My.
God.
It was beautiful.
Luxurious.
Everything shining.
Everything perfect.
He walked in.
I followed.
"Good evening, Young Master," an old lady greeted.
Young master?
Excuse me?
He just hummed and sat on the sofa.
Bored.
Two men came.
Removed his shoes.
WHAT.
People.
Removing his shoes.
I blinked.
Rich.
Ridiculously rich.
"Young master, your grandfather is here," the lady said.
"Tell him to go back to Mumbai."
I froze.
WHAT.
SO RUDE.
I smacked his head.
He looked at me, annoyed.
"What?"
"Do you really talk to elders like that?" I asked, shocked.
"Tell him I'm coming," he corrected calmly.
I just stood there.
Processing.
He motioned.
Two women came.
And dragged me away.
WHAT IS HAPPENING TODAY.
They took me into a room.
No.
Not a room.
A palace.
Size of my entire house.
They showed me the bathroom.
I went in.
Quick shower.
I don't even know why.
Maybe the rain will stop soon.
I'll leave quickly.
I came out.
Fresh.
Smelling like roses.
The soap.
Not me.
They gave me clothes.
T-shirt.
Jeans.
I wore them.
"Where's my uniform?" I asked.
"We've sent it for washing."
WHAT.
I walked out.
Carefully.
Sat on the sofa.
Didn't move.
I might ruin it.
This place is too expensive for my existence.
I looked around.
Paintings.
Frames.
Luxury everywhere.
