Chapter 11 - “The Dragon Seal and the Sacred Golden Blood”

Page 11

Adam's scream tore through the void.

Not just a sound of pain… but as if something inside him was being pulled to another place.

Around his body—

an aura of black flames erupted.

They were not ordinary flames…

they swirled violently, as if searching for something to devour.

In that very moment—

in the Tribal Mountains…

Lorian Kyles stood still.

The cold wind passed around him…

but his hand—

was hotter than any fire.

The hand with which he had sealed Adam…

began to glow.

A faint glow… then it rapidly intensified.

Lorian suddenly raised his head.

"Damn that manipulative bastard…"

He clenched his hand tightly.

And the glow increased…

as if the seal was responding to him.

At the same moment—

inside Adam's chest…

the seal began to glow as well.

Letters appeared clearly over his skin…

as if carved from ancient light:

"Vash Drakorath, Kaelith Drakon, Elyraen Zornkaelith."

Griffin stepped back.

His eyes widened.

"This…"

He moved closer, as if he could not believe what he was seeing.

Then he said in a low voice:

"This language… it's… Sergonval."

He quickly looked at Adam.

"The ancient language of the Dragon Empire."

The commander looked at him.

"Can you read it?"

Griffin replied:

"I traveled to Sergon before… and studied some of its inscriptions."

Then he moved closer to the glowing seal.

"What's written here…"

He paused for a moment.

"It speaks of the spirit of the first dragons… the dragon's fire… and the sacred golden blood."

A heavy silence fell.

The commander tightened his fist.

"What does that mean?"

Griffin slowly shook his head.

"I don't know… but it doesn't seem to be a killing seal."

He looked at Adam lying on the ground.

"Rather a protection seal… or something greater than that."

The glow slowly faded…

as if something inside had calmed.

Then—

the pain disappeared.

Adam's body relaxed…

and he fell into a coma.

In the Tribal Mountains…

Lorian lowered his hand slowly.

The glow disappeared as well.

He looked at it in silence.

Then said in a low voice:

"I won't let them use him this way."

He clenched his hand…

as if the decision had been made.

On the road…

far from the carriage, the blood, and the fog…

there were voids.

The First Shadow…

the Second…

the Third.

Those who were watching…

disappeared.

No trace…

no sound…

no presence.

As if they had never been there at all.

After several days…

the journey resumed its path.

Silence returned… but in a different way.

No longer the silence of fear…

but the silence of anticipation.

Until the carriage arrived.

The Kingdom of Kyle.

A massive gate… towering… as if it did not belong to this world.

The journey stopped.

Everyone got down.

Among them—

Adam.

He stood before the gate.

Silent.

Confused.

Afraid.

Cautious.

And despite everything he had been through…

he felt only one thing:

That what began on the road…

had not ended here.
