Feyi walked down the long corridor of the academy, the polished stone floor reflecting the pale glow of the floating lanterns above. The halls were wide and grand, clearly designed to house thousands of students from across the realm. Every pillar was carved with ancient runes that pulsed faintly with spiritual energy.
He moved quietly, his expression calm, though his mind was far from peaceful.
The memories of his trial still lingered inside his head.
The darkness.
The voice.
The blessing he received.
And the strange title the Realm Sorcery had whispered to him.
He finally arrived at a massive double door made of dark steel and ancient wood. Above it, glowing letters formed the name of the class.
Class 9 — Aspirant Hall
Feyi pushed the door open.
The moment he stepped inside, he froze.
The hall was enormous. The ceiling rose nearly three stories high, with glowing crystal lights hanging in rows. Long curved rows of desks filled the chamber like a small arena.
But that was not what shocked him.
Earlier that morning, when he had been placed here after arriving at the academy, there had been around fifty aspirants inside.
Now there were hundreds.
The entire hall was full.
Every seat seemed occupied by young aspirants dressed in academy uniforms, all talking loudly, boasting, arguing, and laughing as they discussed their trials.
Feyi stood at the doorway for a moment.
Hundreds…
Did they add more aspirants today?
He quietly stepped inside.
The noise in the hall was overwhelming. Everyone seemed excited after completing their trials and awakening their clans.
Feyi walked slowly between the rows of seats, trying not to draw attention. Eventually he found an empty chair near the middle of the hall and sat down.
Around him, groups of aspirants were enthusiastically discussing the powers they had received.
One boy stood proudly on top of his desk while a group gathered around him.
"Guess what?" he said loudly, his voice filled with pride.
"I awakened under the Shadow Clan. The Realm Sorcery itself granted it to me."
Several aspirants gasped.
"The Shadow Clan?"
"No way!"
"That's a high-ranked stealth clan!"
The boy smirked, clearly enjoying the attention.
"It means I have natural affinity with darkness techniques."
Another aspirant nearby crossed her arms and spoke confidently.
"That's impressive, but my clan is the Clan of Eyes."
A few people turned toward her.
"The Eye Clan?"
She nodded proudly.
"I can sense spiritual disturbances and detect hidden movements."
But immediately another aspirant scoffed.
"That's still a lower-ranked clan."
Everyone looked at him.
He leaned back in his chair casually.
"The Clan of Eyes ranks near the bottom among perception clans."
The girl glared at him angrily, but he simply shrugged.
"It's the truth."
More conversations filled the hall.
"Flame Clan!"
"Stone Body Clan!"
"Wind Whisper Clan!"
"Beast Bond Clan!"
Aspirants bragged endlessly about their awakenings.
Some compared ranks.
Some argued.
Some exaggerated their abilities.
The atmosphere in the hall was loud and competitive.
Feyi listened quietly.
At first, he didn't care.
But after a while, he felt something strange stirring inside his chest.
A slow, burning feeling.
Not jealousy.
Not anger.
Just… something boiling quietly beneath the surface.
He didn't understand it.
But the more he listened to them boast about their clans, the stronger the feeling grew.
Finally, Feyi stood up.
The chair slid slightly against the floor.
He walked past several groups of aspirants who were arguing about clan rankings.
Then he spoke calmly.
"I belong to the Voidless Clan."
The conversations stopped instantly.
The nearby aspirants turned toward him.
For a moment, there was silence.
Then suddenly—
Laughter exploded across the group.
"HAHAHAHA!"
"Did he just say Voidless Clan?!"
"Is he serious?!"
One aspirant wiped tears from his eyes.
"That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard today!"
Another aspirant crossed his arms and looked at Feyi mockingly.
"Oh really?"
"And what makes you think you're from the Voidless Clan?"
Feyi looked at them calmly but said nothing.
Another aspirant spoke up.
"You do realize even the Shadow Clan once searched for the heir of the Voidless Clan."
Someone else nodded.
"Yeah, everyone knows that legend."
Another aspirant leaned forward excitedly.
"The story says the Divine, the only true god acknowledged by the Realm Sorcery, has been waiting for the heir of the Voidless Clan."
A different aspirant added:
"They say that only when the Divine stands beside the heir of the Voidless Clan will they surpass the limits of all Realm Sorcery."
The group fell silent for a moment.
Then the muscular aspirant from earlier laughed again.
"And you expect us to believe that you are that heir?"
He looked Feyi up and down with obvious disbelief.
"Our Divine has been waiting for centuries."
"And now suddenly some random aspirant appears and claims to be the Voidless heir?"
More laughter erupted.
Another aspirant waved his hand dismissively.
"Don't mind him."
"He probably just heard the story somewhere."
Another nodded.
"Yeah. Everyone knows no one has ever awakened the Voidless Clan."
"There has never been an heir."
"It's just a legend."
Feyi stood there quietly while they mocked him.
Then he simply turned and walked back to his seat.
The laughter slowly faded as conversations resumed.
But inside Feyi's mind, thoughts were racing.
Voidless Clan…
The Divine…
The lost heir…
He stared at the desk in front of him.
Does that mean my clan is something important?
He remembered the moment during his trial.
The endless darkness.
The presence that spoke to him.
And the blessing he received from the Void God.
His chest tightened slightly.
What if…
What if my power really is connected to that legend?
He looked around the hall.
Hundreds of aspirants.
Hundreds of clans.
Hundreds of powers.
But none of them had experienced what he experienced.
None of them had stood where he stood.
None of them had heard that voice.
Just then—
The academy bell rang loudly.
BOOOOOOOM
The deep sound echoed throughout the entire building.
All the aspirants paused.
Moments later, a voice shouted from the hallway.
"Attention aspirants!"
"There will be no classes today!"
The hall immediately filled with excited chatter.
"What?!"
"No class?"
"Seriously?"
The voice continued.
"All aspirants are to return to their dormitories and prepare for tomorrow's orientation!"
Cheers broke out across the hall.
Many aspirants quickly gathered their things and rushed toward the door.
Feyi slowly stood up.
No class today…
Then I should return to the dormitory.
He walked toward the exit.
As he passed a group of aspirants, he heard them whisper.
"Look."
"That's the boy who claimed he's from the Voidless Clan."
Another aspirant scoffed.
"Even the Shadow Clan couldn't find the Voidless heir."
"And he thinks it's him?"
Another laughed.
"Impossible."
"Someone like him won't even survive long as an aspirant."
One more voice added mockingly.
"He probably lost his mind during his trial."
"Some aspirants get mentally distorted after facing Realm Sorcery."
They continued laughing as Feyi walked past them.
But he didn't react.
Not even once.
He simply stepped outside the hall.
The evening sun was setting over the academy towers, painting the sky orange and gold.
Hundreds of aspirants were wandering through the academy grounds, exploring their new home.
Feyi walked alone toward the dormitory district.
Yet strangely…
He didn't feel weak.
He didn't feel ashamed.
Deep inside him, that strange burning feeling remained.
Quiet.
Powerful.
Waiting.
And though the other aspirants laughed at him…
Somewhere far beyond their understanding…
Something connected to the Voidless Clan had truly awakened.
