Chapter 40 'Voldemort's' Teaching.
While Gryffindor wasn't as united as Hufflepuff, they forgot all their internal grudges when facing Slytherin.
Soon, a crowd gathered.
Then came the shouting and cursing.
Unlike the somewhat heated Ron,
Basil and Hermione weren't affected by the atmosphere.
Hermione believed House Grades were more important.
Basil
's expression was quite telling.
Just now, he clearly saw several Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws hiding in the crowd,
subtly stirring things up.
The Hufflepuffs, though rough in their actions, were the largest and most united house.
With the other Hufflepuff students providing cover, even if someone noticed something amiss, they couldn't find their target.
The Ravenclaws, on the other hand, were very meticulous.
While almost everyone thought they were bookworms, some pretended to be deep in thought, some were engrossed in a book, not watching where they were going, and some were carefully examining a peeled potato.
They just happened to be passing by, among the Slytherins and Gryffindors.
They 'accidentally' stepped on someone's foot, bumped into someone's head, or something like that.
Meanwhile, Snape, like a giant bat, lurked in the shadows,
ready to deduct points—to take sides.
It's just a House Cup, completely useless, why all this shady stuff?
Basil felt his worldview about to explode.
No wonder Gryffindor hadn't won the House Cup despite having all the best students.
It wasn't just Snape's doing.
Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw were involved too.
They certainly didn't want Slytherins to win, but they also didn't want Gryffindor to get too many points.
In the end, a fight didn't break out.
Flint, though despicable, seemed to really want to beat Gryffindor in Quidditch.
He also wanted to promote how excellent his first-year team was.
So, under the restraint of these burly brutes, the other big, muscular Slytherins also kept quiet.
"Hey! Basil, you noticed too, didn't you?" Percy suddenly appeared behind him.
Basil nodded.
Percy: "Are you surprised?"
"Yes," Basil gestured to Hermione to be quiet, then said, "I don't understand. From what I've observed, aren't Slytherins the enemy of the entire school? As long as Slytherins doesn't win the House Cup, it's fine. But today?"
Percy chuckled, "This is also targeting Slytherins. Didn't you notice that they're all bluffing against Slytherin students? If a real fight breaks out, they'll join in in their own house style, making it impossible for even Snape to take sides." He sighed wistfully, "Unfortunately, the last time such a major showdown happened was two years ago. Back then, the protagonists were Fred and George. They had just entered the school."
"Unfortunately?" Hermione began to doubt her ears.
She had assumed Percy was on her side.
Just one night later, by the next day,
almost all the students and portrait artists knew that Slytherin and Gryffindor had two of their youngest Seekers.
For a time, the talk of the castle revolved around this.
But no one doubted whether Wood and Flint had gone mad.
All the students who witnessed Harry and Malfoy's back-and-forth aerial duels in flying class were full of praise for their skills.
Their technique was so good that the fact that Draco Malfoy used a feminine sitting posture spread throughout Hogwarts.
Even Rita Skeeter joined in the fun, publishing the story in the Daily Prophet.
But Basil had no time to pay attention to any of this.
He was humbly seeking guidance from the younger version of Voldemort, who was currently in the Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin.
His summoning card, [Hordeal: The Sealed Diary], summoned the younger version of Voldemort, whose stats only had the eye-catching suffix of [Dark Magic Proficiency - Strong].
But this had a prerequisite:
his system was a real-world version of a NetEase game.
NetEase games were very meticulous in their costumes and various pay-to-win elements,
but their stats were relatively rudimentary.
The player's magic resistance, physical defense, agility, strength, constitution, etc., were all shrouded in a single health bar.
Furthermore, there was no more visual representation of a wizard's magical abilities.
Therefore, even though the teenage Voldemort possessed the same magical abilities and combat experience as the seventeen-year-old Voldemort,
statistically, he appeared no different from other outstanding students of the same grade. "
If only they could label his Dark Arts level, his Transfiguration level,"
Basil couldn't help but sigh again.
In the Chamber of Secrets, Riddle, using a worn-out wand found in the Room of Requirement, displayed incredibly skillful combat techniques.
One spell led to another.
Each spell amplified and prepared for the next.
The wand seemed to automatically aim, destroying the tables and chairs Basil had suddenly moved into mid-air within the Chamber.
Even more impressive was Riddle's Killing Curse.
Facing the Killing Curse used by the Boggart version of Voldemort summoned by Basil, he didn't even look at it.
He simply closed his eyes, and the wand spun automatically in his palm, finding the green light.
Equally dazzling, a Killing Curse, accompanied by the sound of an unknown behemoth cutting through the air, shot from the tip of the worn hawthorn wand.
The Boggart version of Voldemort's Killing Curse was shattered.
Along with it, Voldemort himself.
What remained were broken benches and table legs scattered everywhere.
There was no way around it; the practice grounds were counted in the [Duel Components], so the school would have to suffer.
Consider it interest on him giving Hogwarts Castle to the school for use.
Riddle later explained what happened.
"My lord. Your spellcasting methods are divided into three categories."
"I'm not referring to magic power or 'magic' itself. I'm referring to the three methods provided by the wand and the [Spellbook]."
"Spells cast solely from the [Spellbook], without the guidance of mental power, are merely descriptions on the panel."
"A Stunning Spell only causes stun, a Killing Spell only causes killing. The extra magic power you 'consume' only results in additional damage. It's just a matter of force. The nature of the spell's power itself remains unchanged." "
However, you don't need to chant incantations. With a thought, you almost don't need to expend mental or physical energy to 'punch'."
"Using a wand, that is, traditional wizarding spellcasting, requires complete concentration and mental effort when unfamiliar with it."
"But you haven't truly combined them. Using the wand and the [Spellbook] simultaneously, you're merely enjoying the bonuses of both."
"In fact, you should have noticed that none of the cards in the [Spellbook] are currently at level two."
"This is because you've almost never used mental power to use the cards."
"You're only training your 'muscles,' which is magic power itself. It doesn't improve your magical skill."
"You may have glimpsed the level two [Devil's Web] created by using two powers simultaneously with your summoning cards."
"But a level two spell is definitely not just a simple increase in damage."
"The level four spell you created with Echo is not a true level four."
"Your card levels are definitely not capped at 15 like in the game."
"In fact, a level one spell is already at the level of an ordinary wizard."
"A true level two spell will create effects that are either additional to the spell or enhanced based on its original effect, according to your will. "
"Like my Killing Curse, which can also kill other spells. This is something the original Killing Curse doesn't have."
"This is what Ron calls personalization."
Basil was a little confused.
He lay in his bedroom in the dormitory, his mouth open but no sound came out.
The sound was redirected to the secret room connected to Myrtle's bathroom on the third floor, to Riddle's ears.
"Then what exactly is a Level Two spell? According to you, the Stunning Curse I used against Malfoy and his two henchmen, which had the properties of a dispelling curse, was a Level Two spell,"
Riddle denied. "What you have is a Level One spell with the properties of a Level Two spell."
"A true Level Two spell is more powerful when you use the same amount of magic, and it also possesses different characteristics depending on your personal will."
"It doesn't require you to inject any additional mental power to restrain it; the characteristics it applies
are like it's alive."
"At that time, your wand will also change accordingly, becoming more sentient."
