Lily looked around the spacious, minimalist living room before moving cautiously toward the sofa, quietly sinking onto the edge of the cushion. A few moments later, Tiger returned holding a tray with a glass of water on it.
"Here, drink some water," he offered, placing it on the low table before her.
Lily eagerly grabbed the glass with trembling hands and brought it toward her mouth.
"Don't you know you shouldn't trust a strange man?"
That statement from Tiger was enough to make her freeze, the rim of the glass hovering just a millimeter from her lips.
"You even followed an unknown man to his house. What if I do the exact same thing those thugs were going to do, or even worse?" Tiger asked.
Lily's heart began hammering against her chest, but a deep part of her refused to accept the terrifying thought. "Y-you won't," she murmured, her voice shaking as she stared at him.
