Gideon carried Adeline into the house bridal style, her face buried deeply in the crook of his neck as she inhaled his scent.
The butler stepped forward to greet them but instantly bowed and lowered his gaze, recognizing the sweet scent of an Omega's heat filling the foyer.
"I want everyone to leave the main house immediately. Do not return from the servant quarters until I give the order," Gideon commanded.
The butler didn't question the directive. He offered a swift nod and hurried off to inform the rest of the staff to vacate the premises.
Gideon ascended the grand staircase with swift, even strides, carrying her straight into their bedroom. He laid her down gently on the mattress, but the moment he tried to pull away to give them some space, Adeline's hand shot out, her fingers locking tightly around his wrist.
"Don't leave," she pleaded.
