"Janessa, where are you? You suddenly left after informing a servant that you have some work outside the pack. Dear, why didn't you see me first before leaving?" Catalina asked, her voice filled with anxiety from the other side of the line.
Janessa lowered herself into a chair near the window of her hotel room. "Mom, I'm in the capital."
"What? Why have you gone there?" Catalina panicked.
"Mom, I couldn't just sit at home and watch Adeline enjoy her luxury every single day. I want to be a part of the royal family as well," Janessa answered. She carefully avoided telling her mother the humiliating truth of how she had been thrown out of the palace.
"Prince Gideon warned us clearly not to do anything that would make him kill us. Janessa, come home right now. I'll find a perfect Alpha groom for you," Catalina pleaded, trying to convince her to return.
