"You've got a grain next to your lips," Gideon pointed out.
"Where?" Adeline instantly became self-conscious, touching the area around her mouth, yet she couldn't seem to find the speck.
"Wait," Gideon murmured. He reached across the table, gently pinching the tiny grain away from her skin before dropping it onto a clean tissue.
"Now, you can eat." He smiled a little before wrapping his fingers around the stem of his wine glass to take a sip. As he set it down, his eyes fell upon the grand piano positioned in one of the corners of the restaurant.
Suddenly, he rose from his seat.
"What happened?" Adeline asked, looking up at him in surprise.
Instead of answering, Gideon simply offered her a knowing smile and walked over to the instrument.
