Vivian shook her head in frustration and angrily stormed back toward the palace. However, instead of returning to her own chambers, she directed her sharp steps straight toward the Alpha King's private residence.
Evander frowned, wondering why she was heading there in such a fierce mood, but he remained quiet and stopped right outside the entrance of the King's manor, taking up his post.
Vivian marched inside and found her father in the middle of a conversation with his valet.
"Your Highness," the valet murmured, bowing respectfully the moment he saw the princess enter.
Huxley turned around, looking at Vivian in confusion. "What happened? You look upset, dear."
"I don't need a bodyguard, Dad," Vivian announced.
"What do you mean?" Huxley frowned, lowering himself onto the plush sofa. "Take a seat," he gestured to the sofa chair across from him.
