"The next few weeks, we can't meet," Viktor informed Edith as he handed her a glass of the cold coffee he had prepared.
"Why?" Her relaxed posture stiffened immediately as she sat up straight on the couch.
"I'm going somewhere related to work. It's a secret and I can't share," Viktor replied, lowering himself onto the couch beside her.
"But I won't tell anyone," Edith stated, looking at him intently. "Why can't you tell me?" she questioned in disbelief. "Don't tell me it's Gideon again. Did he send you somewhere and ask you not to tell me?"
"No. Why would Prince Gideon do something like that?" he retorted. "I'll be on a task with my unit for a few weeks," Viktor gave a vague response.
"Because Gideon has threatened me to hurt you. He's a type who doesn't hesitate to kill anyone. I've seen his cruelty a lot of times in the palace. He doesn't even fear Dad and acts all mighty the entire time," she affirmed in irritation.
