Samuel just opened his mouth to speak, but Theodore stood up, which made his voice die on his throat.
"I don't have forever. Just kill those two detectives and end this. Next time, I want deadbodies. Whether it's yours or theirs."
Samuel felt the tension in the room and the seriousness in Theodore's voice, and Samuel nodded, "It'll be done soon." And watches Theodore leave.
Meanwhile, Eleanor bandages Leo's arm and says, "We need to get you to hospital soon." And Leo looks at his arm, and then at Eleanor, there's a flicker of innocence in his eyes, as he says in a low voice, "Thank you..." and Eleanor chuckles, a soft chuckle, and she looks up at Leo and says, "I should be the one to thank you, Leo. You saved me by sacrificing your arm." And Leo chuckled as well, Eleanor looked at the crook of his neck and her eyebrows twitched, She takes her bag and takes the ointment but Leo didn't seem to be noticing that and Eleanor leans forward, Leo leans back an inch before closing his eyes, expecting a kiss but then he felt her hand on his neck and flinches and he opens his eyes to see Eleanor applying ointment.
"You've got a cut on the crook of your neck." Said Eleanor.
Leo's face flushed a bit.
"You were expecting something else, didn't you?" Eleanor said while smirking.
"E-eleanor..." Leo stutters.
"What?" Eleanor replies.
"I tried to hide it... I don't know why... but..." Leo seems to be hesitant.
"But?" Eleanor looks into his eyes.
Leo looks down at Eleanor's hand and then back into her eyes, "Stacey Alderbury... she... she isn't dead... the body in the bathroom? It wasn't her body... it was someone else's who looks a lot like her."
The temperature in the ruins drops, and Eleanor freezes.
"What?" Eleanor whispers.
"Yes... Eleanor... I noticed it from the very beginning... that wasn't Stacey." Leo whispers back.
Eleanor's eyes widen, and her brain is still processing the information.
After a few minutes, without a word, Eleanor helped Leo up to his car, and then she drove the car to the hospital.
Eleanor spent 3 hours at the hospital before returning home.
Janella was chopping veggies as she looked up and smiled as she greeted, "Welcome back, Eleanor! I'm making you your favorite food. Go get fresh."
Eleanor smiled back at Janella, but the smile didn't reach her eyes. After she got freshened and took her phone, her thumb finger was hovering over Sebastian's caller ID but didn't press it. Eleanor exhales and sits on the edge of the bed, the wind hits Eleanor's face, the window is open, Eleanor stood up and closes the window.
