(Jayjay) pov
I was lying on my bed, staring at the ceiling.
Not blinking much.
Just… staring.
"…how do people even do this?" I thought.
Propose.
The word itself felt weird in my head.
I turned slightly, pulling the pillow closer.
"…okay, think," I muttered.
Idea one.
I walk up to him and just say it.
I paused.
"…no."
That sounded confident.
Too confident.
Idea two.
I bake something.
I imagined it.
Me in the kitchen.
Trying to cook.
Burning something.
Almost setting the place on fire.
Keifer walking in.
Looking at the disaster.
"…what happened?"
"…I was trying to confess."
I stared at the ceiling.
"…I'll embarrass myself."
I covered my face with the pillow.
"This is a bad idea."
Idea three.
Casual.
Like we're talking and I just drop it randomly.
"…so, be my boyfriend."
I stared at the ceiling again.
"…that sounds like I'm ordering him."
I sighed.
Why is this so hard?
He makes everything look so easy.
Talking. Teasing. Flirting.
"…and I can't even say one sentence," I thought.
I rolled onto my side.
Then back again.
Maybe I should write it?
No.
Too formal.
Maybe text him?
I froze.
"…no, I'm not proposing on text."
I sat up suddenly.
"This is actually getting ridiculous," I muttered.
Right at that moment—
the door opened.
Aries walked in.
He looked at me.
Then at the way I was sitting.
Then back at me.
"…what's going on in your little brain?" he asked.
I narrowed my eyes slightly.
"…nothing."
He raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, that looks like nothing."
I stared at him for a second.
Then—
in a softer tone—
"…come here."
He paused.
Then smirked slightly.
"…that's suspicious."
"Just sit," I said, trying not to sound too obvious.
He walked over and sat on the edge of the bed.
Watching me carefully.
A second passed.
Then another.
"…you want something," he said.
I blinked.
"…how do you know?"
"Because you're being nice."
"…wow."
He leaned back slightly. "Say it."
I hesitated.
Just for a second.
Then—
"…I need help."
"Of course you do."
I glared at him. "Be serious."
"I am."
I sighed.
"…it's about Keifer."
That got his full attention.
He didn't react loudly.
Didn't tease.
Just looked at me properly now.
"…go on," he said.
I looked away for a second.
Then back at him.
"…I want to… propose."
Silence.
Then—
"…to Keifer?" he asked.
I gave him a look.
"Right. Stupid question."
He leaned forward slightly, resting his elbows on his knees.
Thinking.
And then—
nothing.
He just stayed like that.
Silent.
One minute.
Two minutes.
"…are you thinking or sleeping?" I asked.
"Thinking."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
Another minute passed.
I lay back down dramatically.
"…this is taking too long."
"Good ideas take time."
"Bad ones also take time, apparently."
He ignored that.
Still thinking.
I stared at the ceiling again.
"…what if he says no?" I thought.
I immediately sat up again.
"No, he won't," I muttered.
Aries glanced at me. "Relax."
"I am relaxed."
"You just argued with yourself."
"…mind your business."
He shook his head slightly.
Then finally—
after what felt like forever—
he looked at me.
"…I have an idea."
I sat up properly.
"Tell me."
He paused.
Looked at me.
Then smirked slightly.
"…you'll like this."
I narrowed my eyes.
"…say it."
He leaned closer.
And then—
he told me.
I froze.
For a second—
I didn't react.
Then slowly—
a smile formed.
"…that's actually good," I said.
"Of course it is."
I looked at him again.
"…okay."
A small excitement built up inside me.
"…I'm doing this," I thought.
And this time—
I wasn't confused.
I had a plan.
