Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: A Deal and a Down Payment

"Mr. Stane, bring my things. Let's meet up, and while you're at it, let's talk about that second deal you mentioned."

Obadiah's lips curled up unconsciously. "No problem, the things you asked for are ready. As for the second deal, I guarantee I'll give you a price that will satisfy you."

Hong Fei sat at the entrance of the cave, a smile crinkling his eyes.

He sighed softly. "Mr. Stane, you keep saying you'll satisfy me, but you've never given me a specific number. That makes me doubt your sincerity. Besides, the U.S. Military is currently searching frantically for my whereabouts. I shouldn't need to reiterate the relationship between Stark Industries and the U.S. Military, should I? Are you trying to tell me there's no pressure on your end because of this?"

Obadiah said, "I really didn't! I swear I wish they'd hurry up and call off the troops so they can rest. Believe me!"

But he couldn't say that out loud.

"Heh, Tony is the true Master of Stark Industries. His disappearance has caused an uproar, so the Military's actions are inevitable. As a businessman, regardless of the method, I only hope Tony can return safely. Besides the things you asked for, I've also prepared three tons of gold. This is the down payment I've prepared for our upcoming transaction. If everything goes smoothly, I will give you at least another $300 million in various assets, guaranteed that no one will be able to trace your identity."

Even now, he wouldn't let anything slip. Obadiah was indeed cautious.

"Fine. I'll give you the address later. Remember, don't bring too many people, otherwise I'll be very scared."

The call ended, and Hong Fei smiled happily.

Having money is great.

This was Hong Fei's true thought. The $500 million ransom didn't count; those certainly weren't funded by Obadiah personally. But the three tons of gold and the $300 million in assets were definitely his own, because this was the price for eliminating Tony, which Obadiah couldn't do through someone else.

However, thinking about the scale of Stark Industries, this amount of money really didn't amount to much.

Frank had listened to the whole thing from the side, and his perception of Hong Fei became increasingly subtle. He didn't know if Hong Fei should be considered a good person or a bad one, and he didn't know why Hong Fei was so obsessed with calculating. Of course, the strangest thing was that he sometimes felt that Hong Fei was the same kind of person as him, someone he couldn't distinguish or define.

Hong Fei ignored Frank's inner thoughts. He waited quietly for the huge sum to arrive. Once the number on his phone jumped, he immediately sent the pre-prepared address to Obadiah.

Standing up, Hong Fei said loudly, "Hurry up and prepare, we're about to have guests!"

Hearing this, Frank turned and got busy with the other five people.

At dusk, the convoy of three vehicles led by Obadiah entered the Gobi Desert.

The location Hong Fei gave him was, of course, not his own, so after the drone captured this scene, Hong Fei gave the other party another location.

After repeating this many times, Obadiah finally arrived at Hong Fei's temporary stronghold when the moon rose.

After getting out of the car, Obadiah's face didn't look good. This pampered old man had clearly been shaken up quite a bit on the road, especially since Hong Fei's method of constantly switching locations felt like he was deliberately toying with him, so he was very uncomfortable both physically and mentally.

Outside the cave, sandbags and weapon crates were piled everywhere, looking as if they intended to stay for a long time.

Frank stepped forward and said, "The Master is waiting for you, please!"

Obadiah took a deep breath and walked toward the cave.

"Wait, you guys can't go in."

Obadiah turned his head and saw Frank blocking his bodyguards.

Seeing the two sides suddenly confronting each other, Obadiah waved his hand impatiently: "Alright, you guys wait outside."

Stepping into the cave, Obadiah saw Hong Fei at a glance.

Hong Fei was still wearing that pure black combat suit, and his face was covered by that pure white mask.

"Respected Mr. Stane, it really wasn't easy for us to meet." As soon as he spoke, Hong Fei's voice was rough and low, clearly specially modulated.

Obadiah narrowed his eyes slightly, the skin on his bald head shifting slightly, "Masked, voice-changed, it seems we still don't trust each other."

"Hahaha, trust needs to be accumulated step by step. Trust that comes out of nowhere is a castle in the air. That I am willing to see you now is already the best trust we have for the moment. Mr. Stane, where are my things?"

Obadiah handed over the leather bag in his hand.

Frank took it and walked straight into the depths; he needed to verify the authenticity of the bonds.

Hong Fei reached out: "Sit down, wait a moment."

More than ten minutes later, Frank walked out and nodded to Hong Fei.

Obadiah immediately said: "Where is Tony? I want to see him first."

Hong Fei clapped his hands, and No. 1 and No. 2 stepped forward carrying a stretcher.

Obadiah stood up immediately, and breathed a long sigh of relief after seeing Tony.

"Mr. Stane, now, he is yours. You can take him away at any time." Hong Fei stepped forward and patted Stane on the shoulder, "Now you can tell me what business you want to talk to me about. I am very interested in this."

When Obadiah turned back, his face was already full of smiles.

He saw that he had taken out a small black object from somewhere in his hand. This thing lit up with a red light, and an abnormal sound wave rang out instantly. Hong Fei's body immediately froze in place, unable to move, and No. 1 and No. 2, who were carrying the stretcher next to him, were also the same.

Ten seconds later, Obadiah turned off the weapon, and an arrogant expression suddenly appeared on his face.

"Is my money that easy to take? Business? Heh, what qualifications do desperate people like you have to do business with me? You don't understand your own status at all. That's fine too; your eagerness for quick success and arrogance have just saved me a large sum of money. You know, people like you can never make it to the big stage, and can never understand the true rules of this world."

As he spoke, he walked to Tony's side and looked at that familiar face with a sudden laugh.

Then he turned and took a pistol from No. 1, loaded it with a click, and aimed it at Tony's head: "My business is very simple, and that is to kill this famous genius."

Bang!

The gunshot rang out, the bullet left the chamber, yet an instant later, another crisp sound followed.

Clang!

Sparks flew, and a white light suddenly swept up.

Within a short second, Tony suddenly opened his eyes and climbed up from the stretcher.

In Obadiah's incredulous gaze, he issued an equally incredulous question.

"It's actually you? You actually really want to kill me?"
