Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Frustrated?

In just over a day, the city that once had a contagious vitality became a dead city.

Abandoned cars on the road, a large number of zombies roaming the streets, and blood, lots of blood.

Everyone on the bus was horrified and terrified, thinking about what they would do in the future.

Mark even saw a little zombie girl missing an arm, which made him clench his jaw and grip the metal pipe of the bus, easily threatening him.

Moving to Clark's side, the bus driver, Mark looked at the many tall buildings and pointed to one in the distance: "That one over there, that building will be our temporary base..."

Everyone looked at the building, which was over thirty stories high, and sighed with immense relief. Because it was so tall, it was more than impossible for the zombies to invade it by climbing. At the moment, the highest places were the safest.

Clark didn't waste any time and drove towards the building, with Sophia clearing the way for the cars blocking the road using her powerful telekinesis. Mark patted her on the shoulder with a smile on his face.

"Good job."

"You did much more than all of us combined; we're feeling a little embarrassed for not being of much help." Sophia rolled her eyes and sighed with a dejected expression, her pride wounded.

The others agreed with bitter smiles; Mark dealt with most of the threats, while they had a lot of difficulty killing the zombies with a few blows.

"No, you..." "They helped a lot." Mark shook his head and continued with a serious expression: "I may be very strong, but I'm still just a person."

Iris, Sophia, and the others' lips tightened as they watched him boast of his strength without even trying!

Everyone sighed with great relief inside, feeling very relieved that they weren't useless in Mark's eyes. The monstrous strength Mark demonstrated made everyone see him in a very different and more respectful way.

Not even the arrogant Jason dared to show any kind of arrogance in front of him; he didn't want to get beaten up again.

The bus continued traveling down the road for several minutes until Mark's eyes widened.

"Stop the bus!"

Clark was startled by the sudden command and stopped the bus abruptly, startling all the passengers.

"What happened?"

Iris and the others stood up from their seats, weapons in hand, ready to fight at any moment. Mark didn't care about their reaction and left the bus with a cold expression on his face.

Everyone watched him walk towards a car, an SUV, surrounded by dozens of zombies, and their eyes widened as they saw him begin to ferociously slaughter the zombies. Mark's brutal blows left several survivors very uncomfortable.

After dealing with all the zombies around the SUV, Mark put away the Survivor Boxes scattered on the ground and tapped the car window twice with his finger.

"You can get out, I've dealt with all the zombies." His soft, gentle voice echoed. Mark didn't dare be too cold because inside the car there was a woman, a small child, and a baby.

He didn't want to scare the children, so he tried to make his voice as calm and gentle as possible.

How did he find them? Very simple!

Mark's five senses are absurdly powerful; his hearing allows him to hear everything around him from several hundred meters away, something extremely frightening.

Several seconds passed, and Mark was about to knock again when the back door of the car opened.

"Back up or I'll shoot you!"

Mark frowned as he saw a beautiful middle-aged woman pointing a pistol at him with one hand while holding a crying baby with the other. Behind the woman was a very cute little girl.

"Calm down, I'm Mark, I just saved you." He narrowed his eyes and spoke very calmly.

A flash of guilt and shame shone in the woman's beautiful blue eyes; she hesitated a little, but that hesitation cost her her weapon and safety.

Mark approached in the blink of an eye and took the gun from the woman with great ease, causing her to let out a loud scream. The cute little girl screamed loudly and began to cry, the baby also began to cry even louder.

"Please... you can do whatever you want to me, but please don't hurt my daughters..." The woman pleaded while crying.

Mark's lips tightened: Am I so ugly that I look like a bad person?"

For some reason, he felt an overwhelming sadness thinking about how others saw him because of his face. Mark took a deep breath and returned the pistol to the woman, leaving her stunned.

"I won't hurt you, I came here to help you, not to hurt you." Mark spoke indifferently.

"I... I..." The beautiful woman froze, feeling very relieved.

Mark sighed and turned around: "I'll eliminate the zombies around, calm the children down and then come with me, I'll take you to a safe place."

He didn't wait for a response from the beautiful woman and began eliminating the Zombies surrounded them, crushing their heads with more violence than usual.

Iris, Emma, Professor Evelyn, and Sophia got off the bus and approached the car. The beautiful woman was a little scared, but calmed down when she realized that the four didn't seem to be bad people.

'Damn it!' Seeing this, Mark became even angrier and slaughtered the zombies with more violence than usual.

Jason and the others shuddered, their faces pale as they saw how Mark looked when he was angry. They promised themselves that they would never do anything to anger Mark, or their lives could end brutally.

Iris, Sophia, Emma, and Evelyn helped the woman, whose name is Eva, calm the cute little girl and the baby and took them inside the bus. Eva was shocked to see the large number of people on the bus.

"You... came from Galewth University?" she asked Evelyn with an incredulous expression.

"Yes, we just escaped from there." Evelyn nodded as she sat beside her and stroked the baby's little head.

Eva looked at her with a very shocked expression and asked in disbelief, "How? That place must be hell on earth now."

"With their help, but..." Evelyn's eyes shone, she smiled and pointed to all the Awakened in the group before looking at Mark: "It was Mark who really got us out of that place, without him we all would have been torn apart by the sheer number of Zombies that attacked us."

Iris, Emma, and Sophia agreed with Evelyn and spoke about Mark's incredible feats to her, leaving Eva in shock and struggling to believe what they said.

Before hiding inside the car with her daughters, Eva had seen many people fighting and killing Zombies using supernatural powers, but none of the people she saw were as strong as Mark; in fact, the difference in strength was immense!

Others had difficulty killing three or four zombies in a row, but according to Evelyn and the other women, Mark killed hundreds of zombies with immense ease and still had the energy to continue.

Eva looked at Mark, sitting alone in a corner, her eyes shining. She ignored his ugly face and saw a kind man who risked his own life to help others without asking for anything in return.

"You need to thank Mark; if it weren't for him hearing the cries of that beautiful, cute little baby, we would have passed by without noticing you," Emma commented casually, with a serious look.

Eva's beautiful face paled, and she looked at Mark with immense gratitude. If it weren't for him, she and her daughters would have died of hunger and thirst or become zombie food.
